Police: 63-year-old Dover Twp. man molested three girls over 10 years
A 63-year-old Dover Township man accused of molesting three children over a 10-year period is now in York County Prison.
Edward Earl Campbell, of Llewellyn Mobile Home Park, 4550 Bull Road, Lot 36A, remains locked up on $25,000 bail for the York County case, as well as on a Cumberland County detainer for child sexual offenses, according to court records.
Northern York County Regional Police filed charges against Campbell Tuesday; later that day he turned himself in at the office of District Judge Gerald Shoemaker, police said.
Police said Campbell sexually assaulted three girls between 2000 and Christmas 2010. The girls ranged in age from 3 to 13, police said.
Campbell also used a camera mounted on a tripod to take nude photos of the girls in sexually suggestive positions, police allege.
He also exposed himself to a girl in his vehicle and tried to force her to perform a sexual act on him, police said.
Threats alleged: Campbell threatened to physically harm the girls if they told authorities or their parents, according to police.
In York County, he is charged with one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; two counts each of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, sexual abuse of children and intimidating a witness or victim; three counts of child endangerment; and one count each of indecent exposure and open lewdness.
Northern Regional Police said they conducted a joint investigation into Campbell with Upper Allen Township Police in Cumberland County, where Campbell lived for part of the time in which the alleged assaults occurred.
On Tuesday, Upper Allen Township Police filed charges of attempted indecent assault of a child under 16 and attempted child pornography against Campbell, according to online court records.
