It
appears that more and more law enforcement officers are becoming too
accustomed to issuing orders to people, regardless of the circumstances.
In this case, when their orders were not followed immediately, they
resorted to the use of force to obtain compliance, in the absence of ANY
crime being committed.
It also appears that police are becoming very comfortable with the
casual use of "non-lethal" or "less-than-lethal" weapons. Unfortunately,
even these have proven lethal in a number of cases.
