Sequestration Is Upon Us: Now What?
Well the March 1st deadline is here and the U.S. is officially sequestrated. Yes, as part of the Budget Control Act of 2011 passed by Congress, and signed off by the President, the U.S. government will automatically slash $85 billion from its annual budget (about 2.4 percent of the total budget). So now that these “deep” and “painful” spending cuts are here, how are people reacting? We’re glad you asked. A cross section of the reactions to the Sequestration can be found HERE.
Though
President Barack Obama enjoys heavy support from most of Hollywood,
actor John Cusack appears to be disenchanted with the
Commander-in-Chief. The piece Cusack wrote for an online site wonders, "One
is forced to ask the question: Is the President just another Ivy League
A**hole shredding civil liberties and due process and sending people to
die in some sh*thole for purely political reasons?" Get the rest of this story HERE.

Show-Biz Power Couple Wants Bible Taught In Public Schools
On
Thursday, famed reality show producer Mark Burnett (“The Voice” and
“Survivor”) and his wife, actress Roma Downey (“Touched by an Angel”)
penned an eye-grabbing op-ed in
the Wall Street Journal entitled, “Why Public Schools Should Teach the
Bible.” True to its title, Burnett and Downey make the case that
America’s children should be taught the holy book’s ins and outs in
classrooms across the nation. Follow their logic and learn more about
the couple's new mini-series about The Bible, (debuting on The History
Channel this weekend) HERE.
