Theo Shaw is one of the six black teens accused of beating up a white classmate in Louisiana in 2006. The attempted murder charges against the "Jena Six" ignited a firestorm of public outrage. The SPLC responded with legal help. "These prosecutions were a symbol of a justice system gone wrong," said SPLC President Richard Cohen. "There's leniency for white kids and harshness for black kids." |
