When Congress recently passed the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), President Obama had a choice between right and wrong.
And he chose to throw the Constitution out the window and continue in his support of the Homosexual Agenda by stating he would not enforce Section 533 of the NDAA.
He could have chosen -- as we at Public Advocate would have liked to see -- to honor his Constitutional obligation and faithfully execute the law as dictated by Congress...
To respect the religious freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
Instead, the president chose to call Section 533 -- which protects military chaplains from being forced to violate their religious beliefs by performing homosexual “marriages” -- “ill-advised” and he refused to enforce it.
Obama chose his friends in the Homosexual Lobby over America’s Constitution.
According to his twisted logic and that of the radical homosexuals, a chaplain who chooses not to take part in “any rite, ritual, or ceremony that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain” is guilty of discrimination.
In plain English, military chaplains are now being forced to violate their own religious convictions and principles.
Obama is so committed to forcing the military to comply with the radical Homosexual Agenda that he is willing to outright ignore binding federal law!
He is willing to trample the First Amendment rights of honorably serving military chaplains by forcing them to perform ceremonies they view as an abomination.
Unlike the President, Public Advocate believes that our men and women in uniform should be allowed to practice the same freedoms they sacrifice to defend for us.
You and I believe that Obama should obey his Constitutional duties and enforce the entirety of the NDAA -- including Section 533’s conscience protections for our brave chaplains in the Army, Navy, and the rest of our military.
I wish I could say I am surprised with the president’s decision, but that is unfortunately not the case:
• He repealed the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
• He appointed a radical homosexual activist to the Board at West Point Military Academy, opening the doors for her and her "wife" to be "married" in the Academy’s Protestant Chapel.
• He openly supports the legalization of so-called homosexual “marriage.”
This is an agenda that Public Advocate strives to oppose -- with your support -- at every step.
For the sake of our families, our country, and our brave men and women in uniform.
For the Family,
Eugene Delgaudio
President, Public Advocate of the United States
