Civil rights advocates aim to 'shoot down' drones |
You've
seen the video ... the line of Taliban marching on a mountain path ...
the insurgent planting a roadside bomb to kill and maim Americans ...
the order to launch the Predator drone's Hellfire missile ... the
explosion that takes out the murderous enemy.
So, perhaps it makes you
uneasy when Virginia's Gov. Bob McDonnell says the use of drones in
American skies is a “great” idea and “the right thing to do.” He even
cites their effectiveness on the battlefield of Afghanistan as a selling
point for their effectiveness here at home.
Since we don't have a lot of
Taliban marching on mountain paths in the U.S., nor have there been
reports of insurgents planting roadside bombs along America's highways,
just who does Gov. McDonnell plan to target with drones?
That's what a leading civil-rights group is asking ...
