You and I have long been preparing for a floor vote on the Life at Conception Act by building cosponsors. And we've well passed our all time record for number of sponsors.
Now, you'll be excited to know that last night -- thanks to the leadership of Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky -- you and I made our first direct assault on the abortion lobby's enemy cliffs.
As you know, our nation's policy of abortion-on-demand is built on the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
When Roe v. Wade goes, so does abortion-on-demand.
Last night Senator Paul demanded a Senate roll call vote on our Life at Conception Act which would legislatively overturn Roe v. Wade by defining that constitutionally protected life begins at the moment of conception.
Now you know when you're touching a nerve and making progress when the enemy starts to howl in pain.
And let me tell you, when Senator Paul offered the Life at Conception Act as on the Senate floor, they could hear Harry Reid howl way back in Nevada.
He complained bitterly about our attempt to interfere with "his" agenda, yet tried to share the blame with unnamed "veteran Republican Senators" who didn't want to be bothered by a pro-life vote right now.
So the bad news is that we didn't get our vote last night.
But the good news is that Senator Paul is not giving up and neither will we.
The Allied troops didn't scale the cliffs of Normandy the first time after they landed. They kept fighting.
And with your help we will not be stopped.
Not by Majority Leader Reid.
And not by "veteran Republican Senators."
We will keep adding cosponsors and demanding a vote on the Life at Conception Act over and over. As long as it takes.
The only way the unborn can lose right now is to do nothing.
For Life,
Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance
P.S. If you are able, please chip in at this crucial moment so we can double the heat on the abortion lobby by multiplying the pressure for a vote on the Life at Conception Act.
P.P.S. Majority Leader Reid launched a bitter attack on Senator Rand Paul for daring to ask for a vote on the Life at Conception Act. If you'd like to send Senator Paul a brief note of thanks for his pro-life leadership, please click here.
