BBC News reports thousands of dead octopuses have washed up on a beach in northern Portugal, in what is being called an environmental disaster.
They cover a 5-mile stretch of Vila Nova de Gaia beach - no reason has yet been found for their appearance.
The authorities have warned the public not to eat them.

Last century was a challenge between different Republican ideologies.
But this century will be the century when humanity chooses between Democracy and Republic, between Constitutional Monarchy and Presidency.
The republics of the Western world - France, Germany, Italy, Greece, the U.S., Russia, and Israel - are of course not tyrannies.

I saw the article that nobody knows where the Roswell bodies and debris are, but a few cleared scientists and military personnel.
Those countries which will be the leaders of tomorrow aim for unity and technological advancement.
I believe Democracy is best managed by Constitutional Monarchy.
Both France and the United States have been lucky to have smart and talented Presidents.
Yet, I still hope I will be able one day to stand among this noble people and shout:
"Vive le Roi! Vive la France!".
"Omnes honorate, fraternitatem diligite, Deum timete, regem honorificate", 1 Peter 2:17.
