LEGALLY, TWO WITNESSES NEEDED

The Cross Solves the False Godhead Doctrine

By Peter Date

According to the Bible, when considering the legal case of a person charged with a capital offence crime, if found guilty the penalty was death. The Bible tells us that at least two witnesses are required. The text reads as follows:

Deuteronomy 17:6 “At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.”

According to the text, and a point well established in Hebrew Biblical law, the person on trial could not be condemned on his own testimony, to protect him from confession under duress (which means by force or threat, as for example in the Spanish Inquisition). Therefore, in relation to the Plan of Salvation, in the case of Jesus Christ – who as our substitute took our place and bore the sins of the world – legally two witnesses at least were needed who could accurately testify to the sins committed by every person from the beginning of time to the end of time. Circumstantial evidence is not accepted, so they actually had to have personally witnessed these sins, which of course requires omnipresence.

The two separate witnesses had to have exactly the same testimony, giving witness to the sins committed in both the mind and body of every single person.

Also they had to know all these crimes in 31 A.D. when Christ died, which means they must live in all time at one time – past, present and future. It would not have been fair or legal to place all our sins on Christ in 31 A.D. if those sins were not a reality to GOD.

In fact since Jesus is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the two witnesses would have had to have knowledge of everyone’s sins before the foundation of the world.

Now, The Father is one witness but, according to the Bible, that is not enough to condemn Christ, so where am I going to find a second witness in the Universe for the Plan of Salvation to work? Remember again the vital point that, in a capital case where death is the penalty, the person charged cannot be convicted on their own testimony. There is only one other living Personage in the Universe who can be called as a witness to give exactly the same testimony. This person is, of course, the Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Godhead.

The Plan of Salvation falls apart if the Holy Spirit is not a separate living Personage, with an individual separate mind, who can then qualify as a witness within the Plan of Salvation.

Therefore He is as much a Person as God the Father is a Person.

OLD CHRIST DIED NEW

TESTAMENT FOR OUR SINS TESTAMENT

CONCLUSION :-

Therefore, within the GODHEAD there are three separate Persons with three separate

minds.

The Cross solves the problem.

A LOOK AT CHRIST’S DIVINITY

When Christ became human He was “made of the seed of David according to the flesh.” Romans 1:3. He was “Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally.” Desire of Ages page 669.

The converse of this statement is that, before He clothed His divinity with humanity, He was

every place
personally.

Now think on this a moment. He was not only in all places at one time but in all time at one time. That’s right, all time at one time; past, present and future. Therefore in His divinity He had no beginning. Grasp it friend – no beginning, no time barrier.

The proof of this is simple, because we have already established that in looking at the cross, where Jesus died for our sins in 31 A.D., the omnipresence of the GODHEAD, needed to make the plan of salvation work, means dwelling in all time at one time.

Christ gave that omnipresence up to die for you and I friends. He dwelt in all time at one time with no

beginning
. That is why the Holy Spirit is now the personal Representative of Christ.

Once again the Cross solves the problem.

CHRIST IN HIS

DIVINITY WAS IN

ALL TIME AT ONE TIME PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE, THEREFORE

HE HAD NO BEGINNING

Whilst still GOD and still divine, cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be every place personally, so the Holy Spirit is His Representative

May we trust in the infallible Scriptures and listen to the Bible (Matthew 28:19) and not the snake in the tree. The title JEHOVAH (the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One) belongs as much to Christ in His divinity as it does to the Father and the Holy Spirit. May we stand faithfully for the divinity of Christ.
