Gov. Johnson op-ed: Libya, Afghanistan and the Middle East -- Why Obama and Romney are Both Wrong
September 14, 2012
The Huffington Post
By Gov. Gary Johnson
Foreign
policy is supposed to make us safer, not get Americans killed and
bankrupt us. Yet, even as we mourn the loss of four Americans in Libya
and watch the Middle East ignite with anti-American fervor, our leaders
don't get it.
In
one corner, we have the U.S. apologists warning that -- after the
murders in Libya and the attack on our embassy in Cairo -- we must be
careful not to say or do anything that might hurt someone's feelings. In
the other corner, we have the chest-thumpers demanding that we find
somebody to shoot -- and shoot them.
Gary Johnson: An uphill battle to catch a wave, win the presidency
September 12, 2012
CNN.com
By Dan Merica
Gary Johnson says there are three keys to his campaign being successful: he needs you to know who he is, he needs to be on the ballot in as many states as possible and he needs other libertarians to support him.
And for the next two months, Johnson, the Libertarian party candidate for president and acknowledged underdog, will be zig-zagging across the country to make those admittedly unique goals a reality.
Libertarian Gary Johnson an ideal candidate

Gary Johnson strongly supports both the Constitution and civil liberties. Where does he stand on the issues? He would eliminate the IRS, audit the Federal Reserve, end the war in Afghanistan, reform health care, allow gays to marry, and legalize and regulate marijuana.
There are several issues that voters frequently ask about, but I will touch on a few that have been getting a lot of attention this election season.

September 12, 2012
Politico
By Charles Mahtesian
The Libertarian Party reports that Gary Johnson will be on the ballot in at least 47 states, plus the District of Columbia.
The party is involved in litigation to get him on the ballot in the three remaining states, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Michigan, where a judge ruled last week that Johnson could not appear on the ballot because he also ran as a Republican in the state’s February presidential primary.

By Matthew Reece
During
the past week, new polling results for Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson
have come from Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Ohio, and Virginia. These
new polls have Johnson winning 3% of the vote in Colorado, 7% in
Montana, 7% in New Mexico, 4.5% in Ohio, and 3.8% in Virginia. A Zogby
poll released on September 3 had Johnson at 4.3% nationally. While these
numbers are not large enough to seriously challenge for the presidency,
they do exceed the margin of victory between President Obama and
Republican nominee Mitt Romney in every case.

Mitt Romney is just not going to cut it for many of Ron Paul’s devoted legion of young followers.
Most
of the Ron Paul supporters approached by Red Alert Politics Friday
night at the Liberty Political Action Conference in Chantilly, Va., said
they could not see many differences between Romney and President Obama.
Their general consensus was that Romney is a weak candidate who has not
effectively made his case.

Philadelphia.
One state down, two to go. That’s how Gary Johnson is looking at his
current ballot access fight against the Republican Party. This weekend,
it was announced that Pennsylvania judges ruled in favor of the
Libertarian Presidential candidate. That brings Johnson’s total to 48
states and DC. If the candidate is equally successful in Michigan and
Oklahoma, he will be the only challenger to the establishment’s Obama
and Romney appearing on ballots in all 50 states.
