JEANNETTE, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania woman faces endangerment charges for allegedly leaving her elderly husband alone in bed for days at a time while she visited her boyfriend.
Police: Pa. woman neglected elderly husband
Police say 55-year-old Kathleen Latourette would leave her 86-year-old husband, John, alone at their home in Jeanette, Westmoreland County. Investigators say they found soiled diapers scattered throughout his room and dog feces on the floor.
The couple's daughter called police after investigators she found her father naked on the kitchen floor. Police say John Latourette has dementia, prostate cancer and a lumbar fracture.
Kathleen Latourette told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review she's innocent and routinely leaves the home on Friday mornings and returns Monday. She says sometimes she will "pop in" to check on her husband but otherwise he cares for himself.
