Spiritual Refinement

“I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’” Zechariah 13:9

The refinement process is a lifetime in the making. For each of us it is different and this is a good thing as it shows that God does not want meaningless worship from a bunch of know-nothings. It shows God cares for us so much that He created our uniqueness and that we have the choice to worship. Or not.. As such our journey’s in life are also radically unique. The refinement process may be lite for some while others must go through the fire so to speak.

“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness.” Malachi 3:3

That’s not to say that everything good or bad that happens to you is of God. There are those who blame God for all of the grief & pain in the world but as Christians we can look and see that it is sin (and yes satan is sin) which causes the problems. We actually live in this world, that’s a true statement whether you acknowledge it or not and so it is the world that is going to bring about the majority of our experiences. If a trial or joy is because of God you will know it is and will not second-guess.

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” I Peter 3:7

And if that makes absolutely no sense to you what-so-ever you have got to turn off you blinders. It’s hard to realize you are blinded and in need of a Saviour when you cannot see (your sin) and are not aware you are living in sin. We are sinner’s. You & I are in need of saving. Click Here

“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10

Are we trying to reach a certain level ? Obviously if you turn from sin by accepting Salvation through our Saviour then your life is going to be radically different then if you had not. When we look at the multiple stories about the follower’s of our Saviour within the bible it’s radically different from what surrounds us today, you can read more about the prosperity gospel if you like, but we can see that as they progressed through they’re life it became less and less about themselves and more about doing the will of our Father. This means that we must overcome sin, serpent and the world and the more we do this the more God will do His will through us. But to think that our works in whatever fashion will get us to a certain level is ______.

With our daily prayers and reading of the bible our Father will take our life events and everything around us and put it into a way that He can do His will through us. We seek our Father through prayer and studying of the scripture and through it we get to know Him. This is the refinement I seek, that I can be used for our Father’s sake because righteousness can never be wrong. And my sin is not righteous nor anyone else’s for that matter. We can look around us and see the result of sin and it always comes the same just re-packaged is all. So then the answer is clear: Seek to do the will of our Father and He will hear you and He will work through you.

Praise God!
