Former Hershey Doctor Accused Of Sexual Assaults

Two Former Patients Issue Rape Charges

HERSHEY, Pa. -- A former Hershey doctor was charged with 21 counts of rape Monday, amongst other charges, as the result of an investigation by Derry Township police. Dr. Robert Yarwood, OB/GYN, is accused of sexually assaulting two patients at his office in 2008, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center said in a news release. He was charged in court with 21 counts of rape, 12 counts of sexual assault, 13 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and one count of aggravated indecent assault. After being arraigned, Yarwood was released on $50,000 bail. Yarwood was immediately suspended from seeing patients after the Medical Center learned of the investigation in August 2008. He now lives in Massachusetts and is no longer associated with the Medical Center. "If proven true, his alleged actions are both reprehensible and well outside the bounds of the professional conduct of all our physicians," the Medical Center said. Copyright 2010 by WGAL.com.
