Gary and Yanira Maldonado, who live near Phoenix, Ariz., traveled to Mexico last week to attend a family funeral. On their way back to the U.S., their bus was stopped at a military checkpoint. Charlotte Motor Speedway said 10 fans were injured Sunday at the Coca-Cola 600. Three of the injured were taken to the hospital after a nylon rope supporting a Fox Sports overhead television camera fell from the grandstands and landed on the track surface. On Sunday, President Barack Obama visited Oklahoma to survey damage from last Monday’s storm, which killed 24 people and damaged an estimated 12,000 homes. Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin joined the President on his tour of the devastation.
