Below is an email I sent to an amateur radio friend, an occasional participant in my amateur radio discussions, called in ham lingo, a QSO. This message is appropriate to share with other Christians, so I am sharing it with you. I have X'd out my friend's name to preserve his anonymity. Some may not agree with my understanding of Daniel 9:23-27. If so, show me where I'm wrong. But Daniel breaks down the 70 weeks into 3 parts:
1) the first period of 7 prophetic weeks of years (49 years)
2) immediately followed by a period of 62 (threescore and two) weeks of years (434 years)
3) immediately followed by a one week period of years (7 years) called, "the 70th week of Daniel."
There are 70 weeks altogether and this 490 (70 times 7) year period of time is "determined" upon Jerusalem and Daniel's people, the Jews held in Babylonian captivity at the time the prophecy was given.
The key to understanding is found in Daniel 9:26. Here's the pertinent part of the verse:
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: ...
Since no one disputes that the first period of 7 weeks of years (49 years) preceded the second period of "threescore and two (62) weeks" (434 years), then we must conclude that Messiah was "cut off" (crucified) AFTER the 69th week (7 weeks plus 62 weeks equals 69 weeks), or during the 70th and final week, called, Daniel's 70th week! If this is true, and I assert that it is true, then the 70th week of Daniel is OVER! The 70th week of Daniel began at the anointing (baptism) of the Most Holy (Christ) by John. Three and a half years later, He was crucified, "in the midst of the week (the 70th and final week) Messiah will be cut off, but not for Himself". That's EXACTLY the way it happened! And the remaining 3 1/2 years of Christ's 7 year ministry was conducted by the Spirit of Christ through the body of Christy, His Spirit filled Apostles and disciples until the end of the 70th week (490th year) as "determined" for Jerusalem and the Jews, when the Jewish Sanhedrin finally rejected the testimony of Steven when they stoned him. From that time the gospel went to the Gentiles.

Dear XXXXXXX,
You say that I like John MacArthur "when it fits." You're absolutely RIGHT. I believe John MacArthur is right down the pipe when he talks about the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Cult. He's right on the money. History and prophecy confirm the truth of his teaching on the Roman Cult. My own research confirms that he's right. I highly recommend John MacArthur's teaching on those things, at least all that I've heard myself. But does that mean that I must endorse all of his other teaching? No way! That would be foolish. He's just a fallible man like me and you.
Nobody is infallible, XXXXXXX. I'm not infallible. Neither is John MacArthur. Neither is the Pope. Only Christ is infallible and only His Word is infallible. You know this. So why imply that it is wrong of me to like John MacArthur only "when it fits?" Paul liked Peter real good until he learned that Peter wouldn't eat with the Gentiles. For that error, Paul withstood Peter to his face; and well he should have. Otherwise, Peter may have remained in his error toward Gentiles. Paul loved Peter too much to leave him in such error. So he rightly corrected him. Does that mean Paul only liked Peter "when it fit?"
I've already seen MacArthur's video on the "rapture." I know what he believes, and why he believes it. I used to believe the same way too. I was taught the "rapture" in the Pentecostal churches as a child. I was also taught the "rapture" in the Baptist churches as a married man. I've never been to a church that didn't teach the "rapture." For all I know, most of the churches teach the "rapture." But, whether it's true or not, what does the "rapture" have anything to do with Daniel's 70 week prophecy?
You and I were talking exclusively about Daniel's 70 week prophecy. We were reading and discussing Daniel 9:23-27 straight out of Father's Holy Book, verse by verse just like we're supposed to do. No mention is made of any "rapture" anywhere in that passage nor anywhere else in the entire book of Daniel for that matter. You brought up the "rapture" for some reason. Why? What does the "rapture" have to do with Daniel's 70 week prophecy? Why can't we continue our discussion about Daniel 9:23-27, Daniel's 70 weeks, without bringing up the rapture?
I just got done re-reading the last two emails I sent you. I never mentioned the "rapture" anywhere in either of those emails. And the Pentecostal pastor who preached on Daniel's 70 weeks never mentioned the "rapture" either. And I never once mentioned the "rapture" during our discussion on ham radio several nights ago either. Why? Because the "rapture" has no legitimate or appropriate place in any discussion about Daniel's 70 week prophecy because Daniel spoke nothing about it and the "rapture" has nothing to do with it. But you keep bringing it up. Why?
XXXXXXX, I know why you keep bringing up the "rapture." The "rapture" reinforces your "Futurist" beliefs that contradict my "Historicist" belief. But the "Historicist" belief is by far the oldest belief and it is our belief (all welcomed members of my QSO are "Historicists") and it was the belief of all the Protestant Reformers and the Huguenots and the Hussites and the Anabaptists and the Waldenses and all true Bible believers before them, all the way back to the churches of the Apostles. The "Historicist" belief teaches that the 70th week comes immediately after the 69th week just as the 62 weeks comes immediately after the 7 weeks. "Historicism" also teaches that Christ fulfilled Daniel's 70th week perfectly and completely, right on schedule 2000 years ago just as Daniel foretold 2500 years ago. These are all the historical Christian beliefs and they have been held and believed by God's people ever since Daniel prophesied it. Before the late 1700's, nobody had ever even heard of "Futurism" or even the "rapture." None of the Christians before our time would understand "Futurism" or the "rapture." They simply wouldn't make sense to them. But they don't teach "Historicism" in the churches anymore because the churches have been taken over by Jesuit trained "Futurist" seminarians (many of them Jesuit controlled Freemasons) who preach from our pulpits and who teach LIES and who have left the faith and are deceiving God's people and persuading them to unite once again with the Roman Catholic Cult, the church of Antichrist.
"Futurism" is by far the new kid on the block, XXXXXXX. Only the last 3 or 4 generations of Christians were ever taught "Futurism". "Historicism" is the original and historical belief of all Bible believers ever since Daniel's day. Those few Jews who understood and believed Daniel's 70 week prophecy KNEW exactly the "time of their visitation" and they accepted Him too. Not so of those who didn't read or understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy! But I, just like you, was brought up in the new "Futurist" belief and, until recently when I discovered the original and ancient "Historicist" belief, I believed in "Futurism" and in the "rapture" just as sincerely as you do. Believe me; I understand you, XXXXXXX. I fully comprehend where you're coming from because I lived it myself. But my steadfast and sincere belief in the "rapture" and in "Futurism" only prevented me from reading and comprehending and accepting the clear and plain English text of Daniel's 70 week prophecy and its historical fulfillment in Christ, just as it prevents you and most other Christians from understanding and accepting it. And that's exactly why the "rapture" teaching was created in the first place; to cause God's people to accept "Futurism" and to hold tightly to it and to prevent Christians from returning to the original "Historicist" belief and understanding Daniel's most important 70 week prophecy, just as all true Christians have throughout history; that it was Christ himself, NOT a "future" Antichrist, who fulfilled it 2000 years ago. Now everybody believes the "Futurist" LIE.
Today Christians believe Daniel's 70th week was NOT fulfilled by Christ 2000 years ago. They believe a "future" Antichrist will arise and fulfill it in the "last 7 years of great tribulation" just before Christ returns. "Futurism" teaches that Daniel's 70th week won't be fulfilled until the end and that Antichrist won't appear until then. How convenient for the historical Antichrist, the Papacy, who has been the controlling power over the kings of the earth and has been enslaving and robbing and raping and torturing and beheading and butchering and deceiving and burning and killing the Saints of God for nearly 2000 years! How convenient for the Antichrist Papacy and his diabolical Vatican Council II and Ecumenism calling God's people back to the Cult of Rome! And if all the Bible believing Christians who preceded our apostate generation, who were killed by the Antichrist and who are now in their graves and who were all "Historicists," could see what Christians believe today, they would all turn in their graves in disbelief!
XXXXXXX, see if you can wrap your brain around this: The one who has killed God's Saints for nearly 2000 years is now believed by "Futurists" to be "The Chief of all Christianity"!!! XXXXXXX, some books I've read say that Rome has killed 500 MILLION people over the centuries. If I were one of the hundreds of thousands of Waldenses or the untold millions of Protestants and Jews and Orthodox who were brutally martyred by the Popes and could see what "Futurists" believe today about him being a man of peace and a great moral authority in the world, I wouldn't just turn in my grave. I would come out of my grave and stone them all to death. I would count them guilty of MY BLOOD AND OF THE BLOOD OF ALL THE SAINTS AND OF THE BLOOD OF CHRIST AND THE DESTROYERS OF THE TRUTH! How could any Christian who knows anything about history not condemn the Papacy as the bloodiest institution in world history! Now does Revelation 18:4-5 make better sense to you? Those who are reuniting with Rome will be counted as having partaken of Rome's bloody sins and will suffer also her plagues!
The Jews were likewise deceived by their "theologians" just as Christians are today. The Jews were prevented by the Scribes and Pharisees and the priests from reading and understanding Daniel's 70 week prophecy too; just like we are today. That's why "they knew not the time of their visitation." And because they didn't know that Daniel's 70 week prophecy foretold exactly when Messiah would come, they weren't expecting Him and they rejected Him and finally crucified Him. Grave consequences indeed for not correctly understanding Daniel's 70 week prophecy!!! And Christians today are just as deceived as were the Jews because they don't read and understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy either. And they're making the same miserable mistake as the Jews and with equally grave consequences! There's no greater deception in the world today than "Futurism." The "rapture" is only the frosting on the "Futurist" cake. Leave off the frosting and the cake is easy to leave alone too.
"Futurism" is a Jesuit LIE. His name was Francisco Ribera. He was instructed by the Pope to come up with an alternate interpretation of Bible prophecy to disguise the fact that the Papacy is the Antichrist and to counter the Protestant Reformers who insisted as did all Bible believers before them that the Pope is indeed the Antichrist. Jesuit Ribera did it by coming up with the "Futurist" interpretation of Daniel's 70 week prophecy. The "Futurist" cake that Ribera baked is bitter, XXXXXXX! Its a bitter LIE. We should spit it out but you keep trying to put the sweet tasting "rapture" frosting back on the cake. The modern Jesuit trained Theologians have "tickled our ears" with sweet sounding words of the "rapture" to make "Futurism" more tasty. Christ warned us not to be deceived. He said Satan would, if it were possible, deceive the very elect. "Futurism" is that deception that has deceived the very elect of God. For most of my life, it deceived me too. I would be no friend of yours if I left you in that deception.
Christians don't understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy any better today than did the Jews 2000 years ago; because just like the Jews before us, we've been lied to by our Jesuit trained seminary "priests" and "pastors" and "theologians" who all teach Jesuit Ribera's "Futurism." That's why Christians today, unlike all Bible believers before us, don't understand or believe the historical and prophetic TRUTH that the Papacy is and always has been the Biblical Antichrist, the man of sin, the son of perdition, the one who is bedecked with gold and silver and precious stones and pearls and who is dressed in scarlet and purple and who has a golden cup in his hand, who rules over the kings of the earth and who is drunk with the blood of the Saints and the martyrs of Jesus; the one who rejects Christ my claiming to be his "replacement," the Biblical and historical Antichrist, the Pope of Rome. And those Christians (nearly everybody today) who don't know that the Papacy is indeed the Biblical Antichrist are in grave danger of being deceived by him and accepting him instead of Christ, just as will the Jews in Israel today who still don't understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy and who are likewise poised to accept him. And Christians today are locked into this inconceivable "Futurist" error simply because they love the "rapture" so much and won't let go of it. I know! I've been there! The "rapture" candy is hard to to spit out because it tastes so good.
The favorite food of the Aborigines is monkey meat. Do you know how the Aborigines catch monkeys to eat? Its almost impossible to catch a monkey, you know. Monkeys are extremely intelligent and very difficult to trick. So, to catch a monkey, the Aborigines have to be very clever. Here's how they do it: The Aborigines know that monkeys love coconuts and peanuts. So the Aborigines drill a small hole in a coconut just big enough for a monkey to squeeze his hand in. Then they put some peanuts into the coconut. When the monkeys come, they stick their hand in the hole in the coconut and grab a fistful of peanuts. But their fistful of peanuts is too big and now they can't get their hand out of the coconut. And because they love peanuts so much, they won't let go of the peanuts and now they're stuck and now the coconut won't let go of them and the Aborigines only have to walk up to them and throw a net over them or just kill them and eat them. Protestants are smart too. To catch Protestants you have to be just as tricky. You have to be a Jesuit. The "rapture" is the peanuts, and the coconut is "Futurism." And the Jesuit missionaries to the Aborigines learned how to use this same trick to catch Christian monkeys, PROTESTANTS. Don't worry. They caught me too. But I let go the peanuts and pulled my hand back out of the coconut and have run away, saving my life and my wife too. And I'm trying to teach you to let go the peanut too. Have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth, dear friend?
Before I let go and fled, the "rapture" (peanuts) locked me in to the "Futurist" (coconut) belief so strongly that it prevented me from correctly understanding Daniel's 70 week prophecy (pull my hand out and getting away). Being unable to correctly understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy, it was also impossible for me to understand that Christ had fulfilled it 2000 years ago just as Daniel prophesied. I was locked into the erroneous belief as taught in all the churches today that Daniel was talking about a future Antichrist, and not Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. The "rapture" locked my mind into the "Futurist" belief that the Antichrist can't come until the last 7 years. And that's exactly why I couldn't understand who the Antichrist is and always has been, the Pope of Rome. Like most Christians, I had no worries about Antichrist because I was convinced that he wouldn't come until the last 7 years. Besides, I was going to be "raptured" out before he comes anyway; ho ho ho. And I wasn't going to let anybody rock my boat. I was just going to go to church and sing and praise and be saved and wait for the "rapture." And I wasn't going to rock anybody else's boat either. I became like most Christians today, comfortable, satisfied, unconcerned, lukewarm, DECEIVED! Little did I know that Satan had lulled me to sleep and was secretly plotting to kill me spiritually by drawing me into the emerging ecumenical global Antichrist religion of the Pope!
The "rapture" locked me into "Futurism." I couldn't let go. And since I was locked into the "Futurist" belief by the dearly beloved "rapture" deception, it was impossible for me to comprehend Daniel's 70 week prophecy and that Christ perfectly and completely fulfilled it 2000 years ago just as Daniel predicted. Failing to understand Daniel's 70 week prophecy also prevented me from comprehending that the Papacy is the Biblical and historical Antichrist. I was locked into the "Futurist" belief that Antichrist won't come until the end just before Christ returns. Saying it another way; since I was locked into "Futurism" by the "rapture" doctrine, I was locked OUT of knowing who the true and historical Antichrist is, the Papacy. I can tell you from my own personal experience, that if you can't read and accept the clear and plain English text of Daniel's 70th week prophecy without mixing the "rapture" into it, then you'll never correctly understand Daniel's 70th week prophecy any better than the Jews did. Nor will you ever comprehend that Christ fulfilled it completely 2000 years ago. You'll never be able to accept what all Bible believers before us believed, that the Papacy is the Biblical Antichrist and has slaughtered God's people for nearly 2000 years. And if you don't know for sure who the Antichrist is, then he still stands a chance of deceiving you to believe that he is a Christian and more! Christ's VICAR! Christ's REPLACEMENT! Christ's REPRESENTATIVE on earth and that, to truly be a Christian, you must unite with his church to be saved! That was the thrust of Vatican Council II. That's the thrust of ECUMENISM! Ecumenism is "the unification of all the world's religions under one head, the POPE! That's the global religion of the New World Order of the Papacy. It is ANTICHRIST!
XXXXXXX, if you can't yet let go of the peanuts, then the coconut will never let you go. Since Daniel never mentions "Futurism" or the "rapture," at least please don't mix coconuts and peanuts with ANY discussion about Daniel's 70 week prophecy. Daniel never mentions anything about "Futurism" or the "rapture" and neither of them have any legitimate place in any discussion about Daniel's prophecy. The believers in my QSO have let go of the peanuts and the coconuts and we've fled and are now warning all the other "monkeys" to let go and flee too. Peanuts and coconuts is the way to trap monkeys. We want the monkeys to be FREE and to not become food for the abominable Aborigines in Rome.
Blessings in Christ,
Tom

Blessings in Christ,
Tom
