No New Thing Under the Sun

By Camron Schofield

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

This world is a world of change.  Humanity gets bored very quickly and they have to change things. Some may blame it on the weather.  When it’s hot, you long for winter and then on the cold mornings you wish you could have a hot day. Wouldn’t it be nice if every day was the same?  Mild and pleasant, truly spring days are the most pleasant. Change often comes as the result of indecision or inconsistency. Have you ever dealt with someone who is constantly changing their mind?  One day they say yes I will do this and they make a promise and the next day they haven’t done it?  The next day they say I changed my mind.  Friends in this world can be very inconsistent. One of the greatest pains of humanity today is the unreliability of this world, the weather. Weather forecasters of today do not get it right. The unreliability of machinery and technology. About ten years ago I worked for a mining company supporting their technology and at 3.00 am I would be woken up to go back to the mine site to resolve this issue.  Churches today are unreliable.  Friends, family, what is there today that is actually reliable. Man is battling away on the ocean seeking something firm and solid.

Isaiah 57:20 But the wicked [are] like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

57:21 [There is] no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Does that not describe the world today? Water is described in the bible as nations, peoples and tongues.  Heaving and surging.

The Inconsistency of Man

What causes the change?

James 1:8 A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

There is a condition in the medical world called the bipolar disorder and everyone has this disorder. Man is always changing his mind as he has multiple minds to change into. One day he can be thinking this and the next second thinking that.  We need something that can be relied upon.  A time is coming when this whole earth is going to reel to and fro like a drunkard, like a boat tossed about in the ocean. In that time we want something that will remain. Some are seeking to enter this rest yet how many fail of it?

Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

We say yes lord I will be a Christian, I will be like Jesus.  Are you like Jesus? Are you finding it hard in this crazy world to be a Christian?  To stay true to that thought instead of changing your mind?

Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Here God is saying make up your mind, stop changing your life where one day you are committed and the next day you are compromising.

Proverbs 24:21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:

24:22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

Do we find in our midst there are people constantly given to change?  It says stay away from them.  We thank the Lord that sanctification is a work of a lifetime and as God is long suffering toward us, likewise we are to be with others.  We are admonished that those who are going to take up the name and not live that name, from such turn away. We need to be consistent Christians.  We need to say okay I’m going to reform my life and do it.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

We have people that walking in our door and they sit down on our chairs and they listen and then afterwards they testify of how beautiful, true, healing and nourishing that the word they heard was and they even say yes I will come back next week but they don’t come back.  If you walk through that door, stay in that door.  Christ is saying be hot or be cold.  Either be for me or against me.  Don’t sit on the fence, one or the other, make up your mind. We are to find stability of mind and stick to it.

Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more [shall not] we [escape], if we turn away from him that [speaketh] from heaven:

12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

12:27 And this [word], Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

How did the devil go?  How successful is he in shaking your resolve?  Perhaps a little minute instruction from the Lord comes in regard to your lifestyle or in the pew or as you study at home, and you think I want to do that and you make a commitment in your heart and you go to do it and it is not as easy as you hoped it would be, I will try again next week. We are in the shaking time and if our resolve can be shaken, we will not remain.  Only those that will be consistent shall not be moved.

Psalms 15:1 A Psalm of David. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

15:2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

15:3 [He that] backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. [He that] sweareth to [his own] hurt, and changeth not.

15:5 [He that] putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these [things] shall never be moved.

Who will never be moved?  Those that swear to their own hurt. What does that mean?  It means that if you make a resolve, if you make a vow, that you will fulfill that vow no matter what it costs even if it means the very life blood is sucked out.  He that changes not, he that is not double minded.

There are many in the church who at heart belong to the world, {RH, January 9, 1894 par. 10}

Where are they? In the church but in the heart the world.

but God calls upon those who claim to believe the advanced truth, to rise above the present attitude of the popular churches of today. Where is the self-denial, where is the cross-bearing that Christ has said should characterize his followers? {RH, January 9, 1894 par. 10}

Where do you see it today?  Where amongst the churches today do we see self-denial. Self-denial required inconsistency in keeping the word and staying true to that resolve.

The reason we have had so little influence upon unbelieving relatives and associates is that we have manifested little decided difference in our practices from those of the world. {RH, January 9, 1894 par. 10}

How often does Christian think today we will compromise a little and slowly win them over.  How often do we go amongst our families where we say I don’t want to offend them so we comprise?  How is your influence? The sop testifies we are too compromising.

Parents need to awake, and purify their souls by practicing the truth in their home life. When we reach the standard that the Lord would have us reach, worldlings will regard Seventh-day Adventists as odd, singular, straight-laced extremists.  {RH, January 9, 1894 par. 10}

That is comforting as we must be somewhat on the right road here as we’ve been called that.  But we are not there yet. The shaking must continue and we must become firmer and firmer. Straight laced extremists, singular, they are not nice names but it’s better to??

A consistent Christian life will accomplish more good than could be accomplished by many sermons. {LP 299.2}

No man can exert an influence for Christ, unless he is a decided and consistent Christian. {RH, June 20, 1882 par. 4}

Why is it that we are so inconsistent and fluctuating and vacillating and changing in our purposes?  Here is the answer that why we are not yet in heaven;

Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

We have heart strings, we have natural affections and these have been attached to the earth. When we want to go one way there is another force that comes in to work against that.  What we set our affections on will determine our consistency.

It is a law both of the intellectual and the spiritual nature that by beholding we become changed. The mind gradually adapts itself to the subjects upon which it is allowed to dwell. {GC 555.1}

Why are we inconsistent?  Our mind is constantly changing, we are setting our mind on different things so our resolve fluctuates and changes.  We see it very much so in the world today. It is very hard it seems for a human being to have their own individuality. The young men and women out there they model themselves on someone else.  Some movie star, a singer, the way in which they talk, they brush their hair and their clothing, it is dependent upon that which they fix their affection. If we want to be consistent Christians our affections must be on Jesus Christ.  If we take our eyes of him we will fluctuate in our Christian walk. We need to behold constantly a model which is consistent.  Something which will remain constant.

Something That Does not Change

Something we can anchor our heart, mind, soul and affections on.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Change and decay in all around I see and by beholding we will become changed.  If we are permitting our affections to dwell upon this earth, change and decay will be our experience but if we are focusing on Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever, then we shall not be moved.  Something to focus on and let sink deep within your being. Keep on an even keel as the wicked are like a troubled sea.

We are forming characters for heaven. No character can be complete without trial and suffering. We must be tested, we must be tried. Christ bore the test of character of our behalf that we might bear this test in our own behalf through the divine strength He has brought to us. Christ is our example in patience, in forbearance, in meekness and lowliness of mind. He was at variance and at war with the whole ungodly world, yet He did not give way to passion and violence manifested in words and actions, although receiving shameful abuse in return for good works. He was afflicted, He was rejected and despitefully treated, yet He retaliated not. He possessed self-control, dignity, and majesty. He suffered with calmness and for abuse gave only compassion, pity, and love. . . .  {TDG 263.2}

Have you ever been abused, afflicted, rejected and despitefully treated? It’s amazing how quickly your resolve can change when you meet those experiences. When someone steps on your toes ouch, isn’t that your instant reaction?  Jesus suffered to with calmness. We are called to suffer. We make a resolve to suffer.  We have been educated that if we are going to build that tower there is suffering involved and we have counted the cost.

Imitate your Redeemer in these things. Do not get excited when things go wrong. Do not let self arise, and lose your self-control because you fancy things are not as they should be. Because others are wrong is no excuse for you to do wrong. Two wrongs will not make one right. You have victories to gain in order to overcome as Christ overcame.  {TDG 263.3}

Christ came as you and I.  Your sinful flesh was his sinful flesh, the trials, tribulations were his.

Those who love and obey the law of Jehovah will meet with trial and temptation; but these are only what Jesus met, {RH, February 6, 1900 par. 11}

Those trials that want to weaken our resolve Jesus met.

Christ never murmured, never uttered discontent, displeasure, or resentment. He was never disheartened, discouraged, ruffled, or fretted. He was patient, calm, and self-possessed under the most exciting and trying circumstances. All His works were performed with a quiet dignity and ease, whatever commotion was around Him. Applause did not elate Him. He feared not the threats of His enemies. He moved amid the world of excitement, of violence and crime, as the sun moves above the clouds. Human passions and commotions and trials were beneath Him. He sailed like the sun above them all. {TDG 263.4}

Does that make you jealous? Is it your experience? Look at that, seriously. Meeting your experiences and just seemingly having an easy time with them.

Yet He was not indifferent to the woes of men. His heart was ever touched with the sufferings and necessities of His brethren, as though He Himself was the one afflicted. He had a calm inward joy, a peace which was serene. His will was ever swallowed up in the will of His Father. Not My will but Thine be done, was heard from His pale and quivering lips.–Letter 51a, Sept. 11, 1874, to Edson and Emma White.  {TDG 263.4}

He went through it and sailed over it so you can learn today how to sail over it. He did not have an easy time. He had it harder than any of us ever could but he was consistent. He was consistent in looking upon that which was consistent and of God is written there is no variableness or turning. Ought we to be ashamed of our change mindedness? Should we be ashamed of our inconsistent Christianity?

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

1:10 Is there [any] thing whereof it may be said, See, this [is] new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Have you ever gone through a trial and thought no one has ever gone through this before.  Can you say see this is new?  Your experiences which are have already been, Jesus Christ has already lived. He has already experienced and endured it. That which you make in your exp today which is hard and powerful in seeking to sway your mind away from your resolve he has already met it and he has already set his face like a flint and stuck true to principle. There is no new thing under the sun. how often we apply this verse and we look at history and the occurrence of the nations and the cycle of humanity.  There is no new thing in your experience. Your tears that you cry, that grieve your heart, perhaps your own inconsistency.

Psalm 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book?

The book that Jesus Christ is the author of, today we are just reading it.  Our lives are but a manifestation of the exp that Jesus has already met. There is no need for us to become disheartened and fluctuating in our resolve and discouraged when we do fluctuate. We can get up again. Be hot or cold. I know you can be hot for me.  The words I share I share with my own self.  I am not as consistent as I should be.  I am not as resolute as I should be.  I am certain that in my lack of resolve I often set bad examples.  I thank the lord for his long suffering.  When we focus on Jesus Christ we are put to shame.  And we should focus on him so much more that we should be put to shame.  If he does not change meeting the same circumstances as us in the same flesh, what excuse have we?  It is true we often say I am a sinful human being and because I am I have an excuse.  Looking at Jesus Christ we see we don’t.  There is one sinful nature that does not fluctuate.  When we see this and when we see Jesus Christ we will hang our head in shame for our lack of consistency. Sempre idem is Latin for always the same.  That is the very words Rome uses to describe themselves.  Rome never changes.  The wicked are like a troubled sea and a double minded man unstable in all his way.  Have you met a stable Muslim, catholic, protestant or atheist?  There are many people in this world today who are not double minded. They make up their mind and stick to it. They are faithful and true to the principles they have.  I have found the faithfulness of the faithless to be far stronger than I am to my faith.

President George W. Bush has canceled an event in the famously neutral country Switzerland because of expected protests to his presence there.

Bush was supposed to give the keynote address at a Jewish group’s charity gala on Feb. 12 in Geneva.

Leftist groups had planned to protest the visit, according to news agencies. But several human rights groups had also filed criminal complaints against Bush, demanding that he be taken into custody if he stepped on Swiss soil and investigated for allegations of ordering torture.

A right-wing member of the Swiss parliament also demanded last week Bush’s arrest on war crimes allegations if he came to the country, according to Reuters.

35 Zoo Animals Freeze To Death In Northern Mexico in 9 degrees weather

35 Zoo Animals Freeze To Death In Northern Mexico

Sicut autem in diebus Noe, ita erit et adventus Filii hominis. (Matthew 24:37)

Yahoo! News reports 35 animals at a zoo in the northern Mexico state of Chihuahua have frozen to death during the region's coldest weather in six decades.

Serengeti Zoo owner Alberto Hernandez says 14 parrots, 13 serpents, five iguanas, two crocodiles and a capuchin monkey died.

Temperatures have dropped to 9 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 13 Celsius) in the area, the coldest weather in 60 years.

Today we have problems keeping the animals warm.

But will we be able to prevent humans from freezing to death tomorrow?

The solar wind pressure has dropped 20 percent since the mid-1990's.

And since 1950, the warm, saline surface waters inflow from the Gulf Stream has fallen by 20 percent.

Now the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has sped up the process of global weather change.

Spring and fall will disappear, summers will be short and winters longer and increasingly more frigid.

The global cooling causes food crops to die, and food sources are accordingly limited.

That is a major reason why governments in for example Tunisia and Egypt now face problems.

Donald Trump warns a loaf of bread will cost 25 dollars pretty soon, which is predicted in the Bible, and that will of course affect the political stability in the West as well.

The best way to combat the cooling trends is to speed up or at least maintain economic growth and to use energy like never before.

But when the stern ice age starts, it will only take a few months of the deep freeze to kill off both plants and animals.

Revelation 21:1 says, "and there was no more sea", and it refers to our oceans, which will become frozen.

Two years ago I wrote on New Testament News that the next Ice Age is predicted to start around 2014.

What lies ahead in the coming years is a global and very prolonged temperature drop.

It will get colder - a lot colder.

"Caelum et terra transibunt, verba vero mea non praeteribunt", Matthew 24:35.

Explosives Found in World Trade Center Dust

Common Ground

By Elizabeth Woodworth

For Dr. Niels Harrit, nanotechnology expert and a recently retired University of Copenhagen chemistry professor, it all began when he watched the collapse of the World Trade Center’s Building 7. Harrit watched it come down in amazement, noting, “I had to watch it again… and again. I hit the button 10 times and my jaw dropped lower and lower.”

The 47-storey structure, with a base the size of a football field, was not hit by a plane, but collapsed at free-fall speed seven hours after the Twin Towers, at 5:20 PM. “I had never heard of that building before and there was no visible reason why it should collapse in that way. Straight down, in 6.5 seconds. I have had no rest since that day,” Harrit says.

Dr. Harrit is the lead scientist of a European, nine-author, peer-reviewed study*, which found millions of microscopic red-gray chips in the World Trade Center dust. These chips, at first thought to be paint, were ignited and determined to be unburned nanothermite – an ultra high-tech incendiary explosive, produced by the military and capable of slicing through steel beams. Nanothermite contains more energy than dynamite and can be used as rocket fuel.

Dr. Niels Harrit

In light of the new discovery by the Harrit team, the mysterious and disturbing features of the World Trade Center collapses can now be explained: buildings WTC 1, WTC 2, and WTC 7 all fell symmetrically, straight down into their footprints at nearly free-fall speed, producing thousands of tons of pulverized concrete dust.

New York Fire Department Captain Philip Ruvolo reported “molten steel running down the channel rails, like lava.” Weeks later, cranes were pulling red-hot girders, dripping steel, from the rubble piles.

A WTC building engineer was convinced that a bomb went off. He saw a 50-ton hydraulic press in a deep sub-basement of the North Tower “reduced to rubble” by an enormous explosion and a 300-pound steel and concrete door wrinkled up “like a piece of aluminum foil.” The explosion occurred as the plane hit the 95th floor, 92 minutes before the building collapsed.

TV anchors Dan Rather, Wolf Blitzer and Peter Jennings likened the collapses to controlled demolition. Dr. Harrit’s in-depth chemical analysis, combined with the visual and physical features of the collapses, now supports these early impressions. Yet the Harrit team’s paper, which made front-page headlines six times in the major Danish newspapers during the first week of February 2010, was never reported in North America.

The subject continues to haunt the European news. A January 2011 poll by the prestigious Emnid Institute for Welt der Wunder magazine showed that almost 90% of German respondents doubt the official account of 9/11.

When asked on Danish national news why he thinks nanothermite caused the collapses, Harrit replied, “Well, it’s an explosive. Why else would it be there? You cannot fudge this kind of science. We have found it. Unreacted thermite… [mixed with the concrete dust from the collapses of the three World Trade Center buildings].”

The issue of how the buildings fell is central to our rationale for being in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Dr. Niels Harrit lectured for 34 years at the University of Copenhagen, and has published more than 60 articles in major science journals. He has delivered 90 lectures on the World Trade Center in Sweden, Norway, England, Holland, the US, Australia and Spain.

You Can't Believe Everything You Read

Posted by Dan Pfeiffer on February 04, 2011 at 04:55 PM EST

As valuable as the internet can be in helping to spread information, most people know that you can’t believe everything you read, and they should check the source before relaying every alarming story they read.  One such story is going around the internet over the past two days claiming that the Obama Administration is somehow responsible for the rolling blackouts in Texas that have caused terrible hardship for so many Texans.  The source is questionable and the story is unquestionably false.

According to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, these blackouts were actually the result of extreme cold temperatures and high winds, which led to a variety of mechanical failures at more than 50 power plants around the state.

Anytime communities experience major outages, it is a cause for concern, and major utilities and regulators are investigating steps that can be taken to decrease any weather related vulnerability of power generating plants in the state that, unlike their northern counterparts which experience extreme cold every winter, are often not designed to withstand such rare weather conditions.

Some are trying to blame these blackouts – which the industry has already provided explanation for – on Clean Air Act standards under consideration to curb dangerous pollution, including carbon pollution. While these claims gained traction on the internet, there is a major problem with this theory – no power plant in Texas has yet been required to do anything to control carbon pollution.

In December the EPA announced its intent to update important Clean Air Act standards that for decades have decreased harmful pollution and protected public health. In the coming months the EPA will work closely with key stakeholders, including industry, to develop a commonsense standard for currently unchecked, dangerous carbon pollution. Any standard, which will leverage existing technologies and only apply to the largest polluters, will not be proposed until later this year, allowing an extensive public comment period, and following that additional input no final rule is scheduled to be in place until late 2012.

Despite these modest steps, many continue to mischaracterize this process – making unsubstantiated claims about the impact this will have on everything from industry to energy prices. This most recent effort simply underscores a willingness to ignore the facts to further an agenda that seeks to stop the EPA from sensible updates to the Clean Air Act.

White House Responds to Blackout Controversy 050211top

- Lies about Texas not being affected by draconian EPA rules on greenhouse gases.

- Deception about clean burning coal-fired plants producing “carbon pollution”.

- Spin in denying EPA and Obama administration have publicly stated and openly embarked on mission to destroy coal industry by blocking construction of new power plants.

The White House has publicly responded to the controversy surrounding the Obama administration’s agenda to bankrupt the coal industry and its connection to this week’s blackouts across the country, by attempting to deny the link in a rebuttal that amounts to nothing more than a tissue of lies, deception and spin.

In a blog that appears on the front page of WhiteHouse.gov, White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer begins by claiming that the story came from a “questionable” source and is “unquestionably false,” without even naming the source. Frightened that Americans might actually read the source and make their own minds up based on the facts, Pfeiffer fails to provide a link to our original article that was subsequently picked up by the Drudge Report, Fox News and numerous other media outlets.

Pfeiffer then oversimplifies the debate by building a straw man argument based around the premise that “the Obama Administration is somehow responsible for the rolling blackouts in Texas,” before blaming the outages on cold weather.

By framing the argument to make out as if we claimed Obama flipped a switch and the lights went out is completely deceptive. Of course the cold weather has shown that the country is vulnerable to blackouts, but that vulnerability is a direct result of the Obama administration’s stated goal to bankrupt the coal industry and its proven track record, through the enforcement of EPA regulations, of blocking power plants from being built that would be able to handle the extra demand.

Pfeiffer then claims that the blackouts were a result of power plants experiencing “mechanical failures,” completely ignoring the fact that the blackouts were planned and were made necessary because of a lack of supply to meet increased demand. That’s why Texas had to rely on Mexico to meet its power shortfall, an offer that was subsequently suspended.

Pfeiffer then attempts to counter the manifestly provable fact that desperately needed new coal-fired plants are being mothballed under the weight of draconian EPA regulations on CO2 emissions by claiming that Texas isn’t subject to such restrictions. Firstly, Texas supplies power to surrounding states that have been impacted by the new EPA regulations, leaving less energy to meet the demand of those living in the lone star state.

Secondly, despite Texas’ best efforts to fight the new Clean Air Act standards, the EPA has aggressively enforced existing regulations, a process that has both delayed and prevented new plants in Texas from being built, such as the Las Brisas Energy Center, which has been the subject of a near three year battle between the EPA and state authorities.

Indeed, a federal court ruling last month gave the EPA permission to proceed with greenhouse gas regulation in Texas, temporarily superseding Texas’ non-compliance with the new regulations which came into force on January 2. The White House’s claim that EPA regulations are not currently affecting Texas is a complete fabrication.

The wider argument that the EPA is simply trying to implement reasonable measures to prevent “carbon pollution” is also a complete misnomer. Modern day clean burning coal-fired plants go to great lengths to remove all hazardous chemicals before any emissions leave the plant, through the use of sophisticated scrubbers and other techniques, to the point where the only emissions are water vapor and carbon dioxide. Watch the video below for a demonstration of these techniques.

There can be no doubt whatsoever that the Obama administration has deliberately pursued a policy of bankrupting the coal industry by means of crippling EPA regulations. Candidate Obama himself explicitly stated this objective during a January 2008 interview.

“So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted,” he stated.

This policy has led not only to new coal plants not being built, but also to existing coal plants being threatened with termination. EPA regulations are forcing power plants out of business across America – leaving the country vulnerable to more enforced blackouts and higher energy prices.

- Back in July 2008, a Superior Court judge in Fulton County blocked the construction of a coal plant in Georgia, citing global warming concerns and the need to limit CO2 emissions.

- In January 2009, the Obama EPA blocked approval for a coal-fired power plant in South Dakota, claiming the state, “didn’t meet requirements under the Clean Air Act in part of its proposed permit for the plant.”

- As Governor of Kansas, Obama’s current Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius slapped a de facto ban on the construction of all new coal-fired plants across the state.

- Last month, Senators in Obama’s home state of Illinois blocked the construction of a clean-burning coal gasification and power generating plant.

- As a result of the EPA’s recent remand of air permits, Shell Oil announced this week that it has “dropped plans to drill in the Arctic waters of the Beaufort Sea this year and will concentrate,” ensuring more shortages and higher prices for Americans

Last month Dayton Daily News reported that, “The power industry nationwide might have to spend more than $80 billion and retire 45,000 megawatts of coal-fired power plants over several years in adjusting operations to meet current and possible new EPA regulations.”

The shortage of power plants to meet the demands of Texans and other Americans as cold weather grips the country is down to the EPA holding local utility companies hostage and blocking them from building desperately needed new power plants.

Obama’s January greenhouse gas rules restricted the amount of emissions allowable for new power plants, while giving an exemption to General Electric, an intimate financial supporter of his administration.

The Obama administration has crippled US infrastructure and its ability to meet the needs of Americans by declaring war on the coal industry. While smaller independent power plant companies are being squeezed out of existence by EPA rules, transnational giants are busy creating artificial scarcity to jack up prices and eliminate their competition. Indeed, we only have to recall how Enron shut down power plants on false pretenses during the 2001 blackouts in California as a ploy to raise prices to understand how the restriction of energy is used as a political and financial tool of oppression.

Energy prices continue to skyrocket nationwide while the EPA prepares to shut down more plants, ensuring only higher prices in the years to come. The federal government’s siege against independent power companies’ efforts to build coal-fired plants is part of the unfolding globalist agenda to cripple American infrastructure even as China and Mexico build new power plants at ever accelerating speeds.

The fact that the White House is so concerned that this agenda is being exposed that they feel the need to address it with a tissue of lies and deception on the front page of WhiteHouse.gov is a telling indication that the Obama administration is panicking about Americans becoming aware of the move to completely de-industrialize the United States.

I Could Not Accept That Rule

Terrence W. Tilley, Ph.D. (page 4) said that he first encountered the 13th of 18 rules of the Rules for Thinking with the Church set forth in Loyola's Spiritual Exercises while attending Brophy College Preparatory School, a Jesuit institution in Phoenix. "Scholastics and ordained—sometimes subtly, sometimes not so subtly—recruited me and other promising classmates for the order," he said.

"But the scholastics told us [the 13th rule] bluntly—that if any of us thought some thing was white and the hierarchical church said it was black, we had to believe it was black". "Long before I accepted the philosophical dictum that our beliefs are mostly not under the direct control of our wills, I knew I could not accept that rule."

Tilley explained that he began to appreciate the importance of the mandate in 1993, when he read a talk that Dulles gave to Jesuits at a symposium in Mexico. He said that one reason for the rule may have been to attempt to ward off charges against Ignatius that accused him of being a member of the "Illuminati."

Rule 13

That we may be altogether of the same mind and in conformity with the Church herself, if she shall have defined anything to be black which to our eyes appears to be white, we ought in like manner to pronounce it to be black. For we must undoubtedly believe, that the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of the Orthodox Church His Spouse, by which Spirit we are governed and directed to Salvation, is the same;…

If he cannot accept that rule, then he does not accept the authority of the Magisterium, which means he does not accept Christ, who founded the Catholic Church and conferred upon its first bishops the authority to teach bindingly in his name. That is to say, if he cannot accept that rule, then he is not a good Catholic. That rule does not only bind Jesuits; a form of that rule binds all Catholics.

I enjoyed Dr. Tilley’s post. It reminded me of some of the lectures
we had in theology class.

As I recall, we spent quite a bit of time discussing the “disconnect” between Ignatius writings – such as the rule mentioned -- and his actual decisions and positions with respect to the Church.

In the end, I think most of the class agreed with Dr. Tilley’s point that Ignatius was writing for a particular audience, and, as Dr. Tilly says: “the rule may have been to attempt to ward off charges against Ignatius” as opposed to those who would interpret the rule as some sort of commandment that supersedes judgment.

First of all, a very interesting post.

Second, his comment that "Christ formed the Catholic church" is not only exceedingly vain and self-serving, but also quite disgusting.

I'm sure we all know the many areas where Catholicism has gone its own way to suit its own power gains and structure, and not in the true interest of the body of Christ.

Some obvious examples would include: "Call no man Father", the idiocy of the Papal infallibility concept, the idolatry of praying to Mary and various Saints as being equal to Christ, the Cathechism itself (the CCC) and the all-too obvious "pray not in vain repetitions" (Matthew 6:7). Find me a Catholic who doesn't know the vain repetitions of parroting the Rosary and Hail Mary better than they can sincerely express the true state of their own heart directly to Christ, Himself...and well, you get the point.

Let us count the ways all this is clearly and blatantly at odds with what Christ said He wanted from us in terms of His Church.

There is no question that the facade of the Catholic Church, this multinational multi-billion dollar tax free corporation is not something of God, in any way, shape or form.

Attention All Pagan Goddess Worshippers and Idolaters: Virgin Mary Appears in Chunk of Ice

Virgin Mary Appears in Chunk of Ice

Marc Hartzman
Contributor

While ice has caused countless accidents in cities from Dallas to New York this week, it may have also brought a miracle.

Jennifer Bloomer, an employee of Simply Self Storage in Dearborn Heights, Mich., claims to have seen an image of the Virgin Mary in a chunk of ice outside of the office.

"I came into work this morning and someone came in and said, 'You have to come outside and see something,' " she told CBS News. "I came outside and there was just this little ice statue. It was bizarre. He said, 'What do you think this is? I said it's the Virgin Mary.'"
The likeness formed from a dripping faucet.

"It was crazy," Bloomer said. "We were both like, I can't believe we're seeing this right now. It was really cool."

The ice chunk is being preserved in a freezer on the property.

This isn't the first time icy conditions have evoked images of the Virgin Mary.

Two years ago in February she reportedly appeared outside a mobile home in Plymouth, Ind. The ice formation was discovered at the base of the hitch, frozen to the structure. It gave the appearance of the Virgin Mary with her head bowed and her hands at her chest, clasped in prayer.

The surprised homeowner was soon joined by large crowds gathering to view the immaculate icicle. Visitors left candles and flowers at the site. Some even hung rosary beads around her.

In January 2007, a Morton, Texas, grocery store reported a Virgin Mary ice formation inside its freezer. An employee noticed that water dripping from the ceiling had created the image, and soon believers flocked to the freezer to see it for themselves.

Some of them cried in its presence. One woman even claimed it answered her prayers. "I had a lump in my breast and yesterday when I went home it disappeared," she told reporters. "I don't have it no more."
Like the Plymouth formation, candles and flowers were placed around this sighting.

Another recent sighting had nothing to do with ice but did manage to find its way into a refrigerator. Two months ago a California woman said her candle wax had melted in the shape of Mary kneeling and praying. In order to prevent melting and preserve the likeness, she placed it in the fridge.

Of course, the mother of all Mother of Jesus sightings remains the well-publicized Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich. In 2004, the holy lunch, featuring an image of her face, fetched $28,000 on eBay. The winning bid was placed by online casino GoldenPalace.com.

The FBI Is Investigating Scientology for Human Trafficking

Amplify’d from gawker.com

The FBI Is Investigating Scientology for Human TraffickingMembers of an FBI task force on human trafficking have been investigating the Church of Scientology for more than a year according to an article in this week's New Yorker. It's the scientology expose we've been all waiting for.

As expected, New Yorker staff writer Lawrence Wright's massive profile of ex-Scientologist writer-director Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby, Crash) contains many interesting revelations about the Church of Scientology and the life of a prominent member. Chief among these is the existence of an ongoing FBI investigation into allegations of abuse by Scientology's leader David Miscavige, and the enslavement of members of Scientology's religious order, "Sea Org". (Recently, former Sea Org members claimed to have been forced to have abortions.)

According to the article, agents from an FBI task force on human trafficking have been interviewing former members of Scientology about abuse in the church since at least December, 2009, and the case remains open. Why human trafficking?

Lawrence writes:

The laws regarding trafficking were built largely around forced prostitution, but they also pertain to slave labor. Under federal law, slavery is defined, in part, by the use of coercion, torture, starvation, imprisonment, threats, and psychological abuse. The California penal code lists several indicators that someone may be a victim of human trafficking: signs of trauma or fatigue; being afraid or unable to talk, because of censorship by others or security measures that prevent communication with others; working in one place without the freedom to move about; owing a debt to one's employer; and not having control over identification documents. Those conditions echo the testimony of many former Sea Org members...

Scientology's financial exploitation of its members and brutal, stalkery retention practices always seemed to barely skirt the edges of legality. Looks like they might have crossed over into outright slavery. How Biblical.

There's a lot more good stuff in the 28-page article that hits the web tonight at midnight. And it's just a fraction of what Wright will be unloading in an upcoming book about Scientology. Plenty of ex-Scientologists have told-all in the past, but Haggis' prominence and Wright's reporting chops should have high-powered Scientologists' E-meters going haywire right now.
