Supporting Our Communities

Individual communities may apply for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) recreation and conservation grants. Funds for the program come from the Environmental Stewardship Fund, the Keystone Park, Recreation and Conservation Fund, the Snowmobile/ATV Fund and other federal funds.

Eligible applicants are:
• Municipalities
• Municipal agencies
• Pre-qualified Land Trusts
• Appropriate/Authorized Organizations
• 501(c) (3) Non-Profits

My Legislation on the Move
House Bill 84, my legislation which would relieve the burden placed on our rural municipalities and farms by requiring only bi-annual inspections, now sits with the state Senate following unanimous passage by the House this week.

York County Farmers….interested in preserving their farms and/or natural land are invited to a Wednesday, Feb. 20, meeting to learn about the benefits of conservation easements. The event will take place from 1 - 3 p.m., in Room 1 of the York County Annex Building, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, Springettsbury Township.

The meeting will provide information regarding easement purchases and easement donations through the York County Agricultural Land Preservation Board. Staff will discuss the application process, requirements, selection process and easement restrictions.
