HINDUS HAVE applauded new Vatican initiative of uniting believers and non-believers.
Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement at Nevada (USA) today, called it “a step in the right direction”.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out that His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI had spoken against atheists in the recent past as he appeared to associate atheism with the Nazis in his speech at Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh (United Kingdom) on September 16 last.
Rajan Zed further said that as Catholics and Hindus and others had freedom of their belief systems and were respected for their respective choices, and so should be the atheists. A religious leader of Pope’s stature should have been more inclusive.
Zed argued that in his encyclical “Caritas in Veritate” (Charity in Truth) issued in Rome in 2009, Pope was also highly critical of atheists and humanists: “…ideological rejection of God and an atheism of indifference, oblivious to the Creator and at risk of becoming equally oblivious to human values, constitute some of the chief obstacles to development today.
A humanism which excludes God is an inhuman humanism.” This encyclical letter is considered the highest form of papal teaching.
A Vatican release said that on March 24-25 next, the Pontifical Council for Culture headed by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, will launch a new permanent Vatican structure to be known as the "Courtyard of the Gentiles", the aim of which is to promote dialogue and encounter between believers and non-believers.
This launch will reportedly involve three colloquia on the themes of "religion, enlightenment and common reason" to be held at the Paris headquarters of UNESCO, the Sorbonne University and Institut de France; followed by a round table discussion at the College des Bernadins.
A celebration involving artistic creations, music, drama, lights, meeting and reflection; and open to everyone, will be organized on the forecourt of the cathedral of Notre Dame with the theme: "Into the Courtyard of the Unknown". Cathedral will remain open for those who wish to participate in a prayer vigil and shared meditation, Vatican release adds.
Atheism is disbelief in the existence of God and atheists argue that there is little or no real evidence for the existence of God. Pope Benedict heads the Roman Catholic Church, which is the largest of the Christian denominations. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal.

VATICAN CITY – Pope Benedict XVI has long championed organ transplants, but don't expect an organ donation from him. The Vatican says his body belongs to the whole church.

While the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger has possessed an organ donor card since the 1970s when he lived in Germany, it was rendered void when he became pope in 2005, his secretary said.

Monsignor Georg Gaenswein addressed the issue in a letter to a German doctor who has been using the fact that Benedict possessed a donor card to recruit other donors. Vatican Radio reported on the letter in a German language broadcast this week.

Gaenswein sought to put the matter to rest, saying any references to the now invalid document are mistaken.

Polish Archbishop Zygmunt Zimowski, head of the Vatican's health office, told La Repubblica newspaper that it was understandable that a pope's body remains intact because it belongs to the entire church.

"It is also understandable in view of possible future veneration," he said, referring to future sainthood. "This doesn't take anything away from the validity and the beauty of the gift of organ donation."

In a 2008 speech, Benedict lamented the shortage of organs for transplants, but denounced any selling of organs as immoral.

Until the last century papal organs were removed — not for transplants but to make embalming more durable.

The organs of 22 popes are preserved as relics in the church of Saints Anastasio and Vincent near the Trevi Fountain in Rome. The custom of removing the organs was abolished by Pope Pius X in the early 1900s. The collection includes the liver, spleen and pancreas of the popes.

When Pope John Paul II died in 2005, the Vatican denied that some of his organs would be sent to his native Poland as relics. He is buried at the Vatican.

A new “maturity” is being demonstrated in the protests in Egypt.

This is the view of Catholic Coptic Patriarch Cardinal Antonios Naguib, head of the country’s Catholic Church, with around 500.000 members.

He said that thee protests in Egypt “have brought out “really wonderful” displays of Christian-Muslim unity”.

The country was rocked by a wave of anti-Christian persecution at the start of the year, including the killing of 21 Coptic Orthodox worshipers by a Muslim extremist suicide bomber outside a church in Alexandria, Egypt.

Many analysts have expressed fear that the militant Muslim Brotherhood sect would exploit the protests in a bid to turn Egypt into an Islamic state.

But in an interview Feb. 1 with the Franciscan-run news service, Terrasanta.net, Patriarch Naguib said a new “maturity” is being demonstrated in the protests.

My comment:

The so-called “new maturity” of the Muslim Brotherhood and Catholics in Egypt, is a trap.

The Brotherhood have signalized that if they are invited to form a New Government, they want to dismiss the Egyptian peace agreement with Israel.

That is obviously pleasing to the Vatican, that did not recognize the Jewish state in 1948. Neither in 1967, nor at the beginning of the first Lebanese war in 1981.

The Pope waited till 1993, when it was obvious for everyone, that Islam was not going to be able to destroy Israel, without committing collective Arabian suicide.  Like in the Nazi-area, the Pope had silently supported the bid to destroy the Jewish people.

The spirit that rules the Pope changed its tactic. Since the devil would not be able to destroy Israel by force, is would be smarter to lure the Jewish people into some kind of “peace agreement”, which will make them lower their defense shield. Than strike them.

The truth is fund in the pudding. Also in this message from the wicked Catholic Coptic Patriarch.
