Recent inspections turn up 7 noncompliant restaurants

With findings ranging from dirty knives to bugs in liquor bottles, seven area restaurants recently violated state food safety regulations and fell out of compliance with the state's Department of Agriculture.

Inspectors visit establishments once per year to ensure places that serve food are following safety guidelines, such as storing food at the proper temperature and keeping food preparation areas clean.

The primary purpose of the inspections is to protect the public from foodborne illnesses, said Lydia Johnson, assistant director of the Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratories.

In the past five weeks, seven York County establishments have failed to meet the guidelines. The number and severity of the violations vary, but all of those that have fallen out of compliance are still allowed to operate.

Found bugs: A Nov. 23 inspection at Hawk Gunning Club, 2486 Pleasant View Drive, found 14 violations.

The inspector noted a repeat violation -- which means the same problem has been found during earlier inspections -- for seven bottles of liquor that had

dead insects in them.

According to the report, all of the bottles were discarded while the inspector was on site.

Other violations include "slime" on the interior of the ice machine bin and soda guns, and food that had been cooked the previous day being stored at room temperature.

The club's owner did not return calls for comment.

Buffet violations: An inspector found 11 violations at Infinito's Pizza, Pasta, Salad Buffet, 1113 Carlisle Ave., on Nov. 22.

Food in the salad bar wasn't being kept cool enough, having registered an internal temperature of 44 degrees, the report said. Also among the infractions were a pencil and duct tape being used as repair materials for a cheese shredder.

There were also repeat violations for a missing filter from a vent system and black residue and pink slime on the inside of the ice machine bin. Also, no sign was posted to remind employees to wash their hands, the report said.

Owner Andy Malinowski said violations are a part of his job.

"When you operate multiple restaurants, you're bound to have issues and corrective action," he said. "That's why there's a health department in place. We welcome the inspection because it keeps us on our toes."

He said the sign wasn't posted because it had been removed for cleaning and hadn't been replaced, and the replacement part for the shredder was on order.

"Somebody got the bright idea of putting (the pencil and tape) in for a missing pin," he said. "It doesn't come in contact with the food."

Food in the salad bar is supposed to register between 36 and 40 degrees, and it typically does, he said.

"Someone had removed the pan to fill it up, so it's like leaving the refrigerator door open," he said. "I put a thermometer in there the other day and it was right where it was supposed to be, 38 degrees."

He said none of his violations were "serious" or jeopardized the health of customers, and most have been corrected.

Subjective call: During the inspections, the "seriousness" of an offense is somewhat subjective, Johnson said.

He explained that the sanitarian has discretion to determine the severity of situations and decides whether an establishment is classified as non-compliant and whether to allow the operation to continue.

"We give them the guidelines, but they are the ones who are at the facility and can discern, for example, an infestation, whether it's a violation or an eminent health hazard," she said. "We're relying upon their training ... but they cannot have a facility cease operation without consent from the supervisor."

Facilities can be closed for "eminent health hazards when (they pose) a serious threat to the community," such as an infestation, lack of water or "gross insanitary conditions."

There are three jurisdictions in York County. York City and Hanover have their own inspectors, with the state's inspectors overseeing the balance. The local jurisdictions can use their own guidelines, while the state uses Pennsylvania's food code.

But under a state law that takes effect on Jan. 22, all inspectors will be mandated to use uniform regulations based on the federal Food and Drug Administration's National Model Retail Food Code.

Effect of new law? A spokeswoman for Isaac's Restaurant & Deli, 2159 White St., said she thinks the Dec. 1 inspection that led to the restaurant's non-compliant status was colored by the passing of the new law.

There were four violations, including static dust on overhead piping and dirty dishes placed on a floor by a dishwasher machine.

Jennifer Shivery, manager of operations and menu for the chain, said the problems have been corrected.

"None of our refrigeration is faulty, and food is handled at a safe temperature," she said. "None of these items that are marked had to do with food being served at the time or employee sanitation. We are so clean all the time that anything that is a violation sticks out like a sore thumb. I think they have to look for (violations) for us, and (the new law) has them really focused on everything."

But at Guadalajara, 2600 E. Market St., manager Julio Miramyntes said the restaurant's Nov. 22 inspection revealed gaps in employee behavior.

All eight violations were repeat violations, such as dirty knives being stored on a magnet set aside for clean knives.

"I guess somebody used it and didn't clean it and put it back on the thing," he said. "We had a big meeting to try to keep everything straight up. I told (employees) we have to watch every step in keeping clean."

At Rutter's Farm Store, 1099 Haines Road, most of the five violations listed were associated with a water heater that was malfunctioning during the inspector's Nov. 15 visit, said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter's Farm Stores.

The violations have been corrected, he said.

Also listed as noncompliant were Logan's Roadhouse Restaurant, 2180 York Crossing Drive, and Wrightsville Steam Fire Engine Hose Co. No. 1 Canteen, 125 S. Second St. in Wrightsville. Representatives did not return calls for comment.

How inspections work:

State and local inspectors visit establishments once per year to ensure places that serve food are following safety guidelines, such as storing food at the proper temperature and keeping food preparation areas clean.

The inspector has discretion to determine the severity of situations and decides whether an establishment is classified as compliant, non-compliant and whether to close the operation.

Repeat violations or serious violations often result in a non-compliant status. Non-compliant establishments are inspected more than once per year, with inspectors scheduling follow-up visits at their discretion.

Facilities can be closed for eminent health hazards when it poses a serious threat to the community, such as an infestation, lack of water, or gross unsanitary conditions.

The Roman Catholic Church is developing a personal ordinariate in Australia

Amplify’d from www.ktfministry.org

The Roman Catholic Church is developing a personal ordinariate for former Anglicans as outlined in the apostolic constitution “Anglicanorum Coetibus” and could be established in Australia by Easter, says a representative of the country’s [Catholic] bishops.

The bishops are working on a similar timeline as they are in England and Wales though it could take a few months longer.

“Anglicanorum Coetibus,” a new apostolic constitution published last year, established a new canonical structure so that whole groups of Anglicans, including whole communities of Anglican churches, can enter the Catholic Church through the establishment of personal ordinariates. These former Anglicans will keep some of their Anglican traditions and even their married priests.

“The bishops of England and Wales announced earlier this month that an ordinariate would be established there as early as January, and five Anglican bishops have announced their intention to join it when the ordinariate is ready. The ordinariate in England and Wales would be the first one to be established.”

At first the new ordinariate will be very small, say the bishops, but once established it will grow as people learn more about it.

“All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him…” Revelation 13:8.

Shooting of man holding water nozzle angers family

The Associated Press
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Angry relatives of a man shot to death by police who apparently mistook a pistol-grip water nozzle he held for a gun are lashing out at officers, saying they made no effort to contact him before opening fire.

However, police officials say Douglas Zerby's behavior prompted the officers' response.

"As the subject was in a seated position, he used a two-handed pistol-grip hold on an object with his arms fully extended," Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell said. "Somebody that is impaired and waving what appears to witnesses and police to be a handgun. That's what the officers were faced with."

Zerby pointed it at one of the officers and two officers fired their weapons, a handgun and a shotgun. A total of eight shots were fired—two from shot guns and six from a handgun, McDonnell said.

Zerby's sister, Eden Marie Biele, said officers made no attempt to talk to her 35-year-old brother or get his attention before shooting him to death.

"They didn't say 'Put your hands up' or 'Freeze' or anything," Biele told The Associated Press Monday. "He was killed in cold blood."

Biele was among the family members whose sobs were heard among McDonnell's explanations of the events leading to Zerby's death on Sunday.

"This is a very unfortunate set of circumstances and leaves the family to deal with it here," McDonnell said, offering his condolences to the Zerby family.

The Long Beach officers were dispatched

to an apartment building after two people reported a man with a gun sitting on a backyard porch landing, McDonnell said. In an excerpt of a 911 call played for reporters, a male caller said the man appeared to have a "tiny six-shooter."

McDonnell said the officers took positions to observe Zerby, who appeared intoxicated, and believed he had a gun as described by the callers, but focused on setting up containment of the area rather than contacting him.

As officers awaited requested backup units, the man pointed the object at apartments and played with it, causing it to make sounds similar to those of a gun being handled, he said.

Both officers were placed on administrative leave, a standard move after a police shooting.

Biele said the family is considering legal action over the shooting.

She said Zerby, who had an 8-year-old son, had been drinking and rather than drive home, went to his friend's place and was waiting on the stairs for him to come home.

"He never knew there was a problem. Police snuck down the corridor and shot him," Biele said. "He was a drunk sitting on a stoop fumbling with a hose nozzle."

The Sins of the Father

The Sins of the Father

The suicide of Mark Madoff, the 46-year-old elder son of disgraced financier Bernard Madoff, has all the trappings of a Greek tragedy. Madoff hanged himself in his Manhattan apartment on Saturday, the second anniversary of his father’s arrest for what is now known as the world’s largest-ever Ponzi scheme.

Just before killing himself, Madoff called relatives and asked them to check on his two-year-old son, sleeping in the next room. His death came even as prosecutors and other legal authorities were considering legal charges against the sons of Bernard Madoff. At the same time, other authorities were seeking to go after the Madoff relatives in order to regain some of the vast losses suffered by investors in the senior Madoff’s $50 billion fraud.

The Madoff sons have insisted on their own innocence, and they had originally confronted their father with the concerns that led to his arrest and conviction. Bernard Madoff is now serving a 150-year federal prison sentence.

Was Mark Madoff guilty of complicity in his father’s criminal scheme? We may never know. He insisted on his innocence, but there can be no question that he profited from his father’s criminal acts. News reports on the Madoff scandal have introduced many Americans to terms like “noxious profits.”

Regardless of the legalities in this case, there is a tragic affirmation of a biblical principle here. In the Old Testament, God is said to visit the iniquities of fathers “upon the children to the third and fourth generation.”  [see, for example, Exodus 20:5, 34:7; Number 14:18; Deuteronomy 5:9]

Some Christians turn these passages into nonsensical and sensationalistic warnings about “generational curses” that must be removed by some kind of special prayer or ministry. The reality of the biblical warning is clear enough. We are warned that the consequences of our sins are not limited to ourselves, or even to our own generation.

Bernard Madoff did not ruin only his own name, but the name carried by his children and grandchildren. The moral, legal, and financial consequences of his sin will not be borne by Bernard Madoff alone, but by his descendants after him.

All of this is brought tragically to mind when we think of the despair of Mark Madoff — and even more so when we consider what this means for a two-year-old boy who had been sleeping in the next room. That grandson was not even conceived when Bernard Madoff was conducting his Ponzi scheme.

Cast aside the unbiblical nonsense about “generational curses” and reflect on the reality of the Bible’s teaching about the consequences of our sin — a sin indeed visited upon the children to the third and fourth generation.

That two-year-old grandson already represents the third generation. May God mercifully protect him.

More Protestant churches feel economic pain

By Bob Smietana The (Nashville) Tennessean
By Dennis Drenner for USA TODAY
File photo of church collection plates in Chambersburgh, Pa.
The recession is dipping into church collection plates.

A growing number of Protestant congregations have seen their Sunday collections drop this year, according to a survey by LifeWay Research on the economic health of churches. Pastors blame high unemployment and a drop-off in giving by members.

To make ends meet, churches have laid off staff and frozen salaries, put off major capital projects and cut back on programs. At the same time, more of their congregation members and neighbors are asking for help with basic needs like paying the rent and buying groceries, the study found.
About half of Americans identify themselves as Protestant, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.

More than a third of churches surveyed said donations dropped in 2010, and overall donations were down 3%, according to LifeWay Research, a Nashville-based religion research organization.
That's a turnaround from the past two years, when churches had been mostly recession-proof, said Scott McConnell, director of LifeWay.

A similar survey last year showed that offerings were up slightly.

"It's kind of surprising that churches took so long to see a downturn," McConnell said.

For their study, LifeWay surveyed 1,000 Protestant pastors across the country. Thirty-four percent said donations were down. Nearly one in five churches said offerings had dropped by 10%. About half of churches said giving is underbudget in 2009.

The Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville has run a planned deficit the past two years. Budget shortfalls were covered by reserves built up over good economic times.

"We're living off the fat years," said Thomas Kleinert, the church's senior minister.

The downtown has hit smaller congregations hardest. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of Corinthian Baptist Church in Nashville, said that Sunday offerings had remained steady. But special offerings — such as annual women's and men's day events — were down $20,000 this year.

"Instead of giving money to the church, members are giving to their kids or grandkids to help them pay the mortgage," he said.

Ellen G. White: 1827-1915

Our Periodicals
God has given me light regarding our periodicals. What is it?—He has said that the dead are to speak. How?—Their works shall follow them. We are to repeat the words of the pioneers in our work, who knew what it cost to search for the truth as for hidden treasure, and who labored to lay the foundation of our work. They moved forward step by step under the influence of the Spirit of God. One by one these pioneers are passing away. The word given me is, Let that which these men have written in the past be reproduced. And in The Signs of the Times let not the articles be long or the print fine. Do not try to crowd everything into one number of the paper. Let the print be good, and let earnest, living experiences be put into the paper.

Not long ago I took up a copy of the Bible Echo. As I looked it through, I saw an article by Elder Haskell and one by Elder . As I laid the paper down, I said, These articles must be reproduced. There is truth and power in them. Men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Let the truths that are the foundation of our faith be kept before the people. Some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. They talk science, and the enemy comes in and gives them an abundance of science; but it is not the science of salvation. It is not the science of humility, of consecration, or of the sanctification of the Spirit. We are now to understand what the pillars of our faith are,—the truths that have made us as a people what we are, leading us on step by step.

Early Experiences

After the passing of the time in 1844 we searched for the truth as for hidden treasure. I met with the brethren, and we studied and prayed earnestly. Often we remained together until late at night, and sometimes through the entire night, praying for light and studying the Word. Again and again these brethren came together to study the Bible, in order that they might know its meaning, and be prepared to teach it with power. When they came to the point in their study where they said, “We can do nothing more,” the Spirit of the Lord would come upon me. I would be taken off in vision, and a clear explanation of the passages we had been studying would be given me, with instruction as to how we were to labor and teach effectively. Thus light was given that helped us to understand the scriptures in regard to Christ, his mission, and his priesthood. A line of truth extending from that time to the time when we shall enter the city of God, was made plain to me, and I gave to others the instruction that the Lord had given me.

During this whole time I could not understand the reasoning of the brethren. My mind was locked, as it were, and I could not comprehend the meaning of the scriptures we were studying. This was one of the greatest sorrows of my life. I was in this condition of mind until all the principal points of our faith were made clear to our minds, in harmony with the Word of God. The brethren knew that, when not in vision, I could not understand these matters, and they accepted, as light directly from heaven, the revelations given.

Many errors arose, and though I was then little more than a child, I was sent by the Lord from place to place to rebuke those who were holding these false doctrines. There were those who were in danger of going into fanaticism, and I was bidden in the name of the Lord to give them a warning from heaven.

We shall have to meet these same false doctrines again. There will be those who will claim to have visions. When God gives you clear evidence that the vision is from him, you may accept it, but do not accept it on any other evidence; for people are going to be led more and more astray in foreign countries and in America. The Lord wants his people to act like men and women of sense.

Salvation in the Truth

In the future, deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid ground for our feet. We want solid pillars for the building. Not one pin is to be removed from that which the Lord has established. The enemy will bring in false theories, such as the doctrine that there is no sanctuary. This is one of the points on which there will be a departing from the faith. Where shall we find safety unless it be in the truths that the Lord has been giving for the last fifty years? (Ellen White, Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, May 5, 1905)

Let Pioneers Identify Truth.—When the power of God testifies as to what is truth, that truth is to stand forever as the truth. No after-suppositions, contrary to the light God has given are to be entertained. Men will arise with interpretations of Scripture which are to them truth, but which are not truth. The truth for this time, God has given us as a foundation for our faith. He Himself has taught us what is truth. One will arise, and still another, with new light which contradicts the light that God has given under the demonstration of His Holy Spirit.

A few are still alive who passed through the experience gained in the establishment of this truth. God has graciously spared their lives to repeat and repeat till the close of their lives, the experience through which they passed even as did John the apostle till the very close of his life. And the standard-bearers who have fallen in death, are to speak through the reprinting of their writings. I am instructed that thus their voices are to be heard. They are to bear their testimony as to what constitutes the truth for this time. Preach the Word, p. 5. (Ellen White, 1905, Counsels to Writers and Editors, pages 31, 32)

Protest against Removing Landmarks

When men come in who would move one pin or pillar from the foundation which God has established by His Holy Spirit, let the aged men who were pioneers in our work speak plainly, and let those who are dead speak also, by the reprinting of their articles in our periodicals. Gather up the rays of divine light that God has given as He has led His people on step by step in the way of truth. This truth will stand the test of time and trial. Ms 62, 1905, p. 6. (A Warning against False Theories, May 24, 1905.) (Ellen White, 1905, Manuscript Releases Volume One, page 55)

The Testimony of Pioneer Workers.—I have had presentations regarding the deceptions that Satan is bringing in at this time. I have been instructed that we should make prominent the testimony of some of the old workers who are now dead. Let them continue to speak through their articles as found in the early numbers of our papers. These articles should now be reprinted, that there may be a living voice from the Lord’s witnesses. The history of the early experiences in the message will be a power to withstand the masterly ingenuity of Satan’s deceptions. This instruction has been repeated recently. I must present before the people the testimonies of Bible truth, and repeat the decided messages given years ago. I desire that my sermons given at camp meetings and in churches may live and do their appointed work.—Letter 99, 1905. (Ellen White, 1905, Counsels to Writers and Editors, page 26)

I long daily to be able to do double duty. I have been pleading with the Lord for strength and wisdom to reproduce the writings of the witnesses who were confirmed in the faith in the early history of the message. After the passing of the time in 1844, they received the light and walked in the light, and when the men claiming to have new light would come in with their wonderful messages regarding various points of Scripture, we had, through the moving of the Holy Spirit, testimonies right to the point, which cut off the influence of such messages as Elder A. F. has been devoting his time to presenting. This poor man has been working decidedly against the truth that the Holy Spirit has confirmed. When the power of God testifies as to what is truth, that truth is to stand forever as the truth. No after-suppositions contrary to the light God has given are to be entertained. …

We are not to receive the words of those who come with a message that contradicts the special points of our faith. They gather together a mass of Scripture and pile it as proof around their asserted theories. This has been done over and over again during the past fifty years. And while the Scriptures are God’s Word, and are to be respected, the application of them, if such application moves one pillar of the foundation that God has sustained these fifty years, is a great mistake. He who makes such an application knows not the wonderful demonstration of the Holy Spirit that gave power and force to the past messages that have come to the people of God.

Elder proofs are not reliable. If received, they would destroy the faith of God’s people in the truth that has made us what we are. We must be decided on this subject, for the points that he is trying to prove by Scripture are not sound. They do not prove that the past experience of God’s people was a fallacy. We had the truth: we were directed by the angels of God. It was under the guidance of the Holy Spirit that the presentation of the sanctuary question was given. It is eloquence for everyone to keep silent in regard to the features of our faith in which they acted no part.

God never contradicts Himself. Scripture proofs are misapplied if forced to testify to that which is not true. Another and still another will arise and bring in supposedly great light, and make their assertions. But we stand by the old landmarks. [1 John 1:1-10 quoted.]

I am instructed to say that these words we may use as appropriate for this time, for the time has come when sin must be called by its right name. We are hindered in our work by men who are not converted, who seek their own glory. They wish to be thought originators of new theories, which they present, claiming that they are truth. But if these theories are received, they will lead to a denial of the truth that for the past fifty years God has been giving to His people, substantiating it by the demonstration of the Holy Spirit.

Let all men beware what is the character of their work. They would better be falling into line for their own souls’ sake and for the sake of the souls of others. “If we walk in the light as He is in the light, the blood of Jesus Christ His Son us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). It is nothing to the credit of any man to start on a new track, using Scripture to substantiate theories of error, leading minds into confusion, away from the truths that are to be indelibly impressed on the minds of God’s people, that they may hold fast to the faith.—Letter 329, 1905. (To J. A. Burden, December 11, 1905). (Ellen White, 1905, Manuscript Release No. 760: The Integrity of the Sanctuary Truth, pages 18-20)

The leading points of our faith as we hold them today were firmly established. Point after point was clearly defined, and all the brethren came into harmony. The whole company of believers were united in the truth. There were those who came in with strange doctrines, but we were never afraid to meet them. Our experience was wonderfully established by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.—MS 135, 1903. (Ellen G. White, The Early Years Volume 1 - 1827-1862, page 145)

The record of the experience through which the people of God passed in the early history of our work must be republished. Many of those who have since come into the truth are ignorant of the way in which the Lord wrought. The experience of William Miller and his associates, of Captain Joseph Bates, and of other pioneers in the advent message, should be kept before our people. Elder Loughborough’s book should receive attention. Our leading men should see what can be done for the circulation of this book. (Ellen White, Counsels to Writers and Editors, page 145)

Vindication of Our Message

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. 1 Tim. 4:1, 2.

I am instructed that the Lord, by His infinite power, has preserved the right hand of His messenger for more than half a century, in order that the truth may be written out as He bids me write it for publication, in periodicals and books, Why?—Because if it were not thus written out, when the pioneers in the faith shall die, there would be many, new in the faith, who would sometimes accept as messages of truth teachings that contain erroneous sentiments and dangerous fallacies. Sometimes that which men teach as “special light” is in reality specious error, which, as tares sown among the wheat, will spring up and produce a baleful harvest. And errors of this sort will be entertained by some until the close of this earth’s history.

There are some, who upon accepting erroneous theories, strive to establish them by collecting from my writings statements of truth, which they use, separated from their proper connection and perverted by association with error. Thus seeds of heresy, springing up and growing rapidly into strong plants, are surrounded by many precious plants of truth, and in this way a mighty effort is made to vindicate the genuineness of the spurious plants.

So it was with the heresies taught in Living Temple. [* A BOOK EXPRESSING PANTHEISTIC SENTIMENTS PUBLISHED BY J. H. KELLOGG.] The subtle errors in this book were surrounded by many beautiful truths. … The seductive fallacies of Satan undermined confidence in the true pillars of the faith, which are grounded on Bible evidence. Truth is sustained by a plain “Thus saith the Lord.” But there has been a weaving in of error, and the use of scriptures out of their natural connection, in order to substantiate fallacies, which would deceive, if possible, the very elect. …

Let not the days pass by and precious opportunities be lost of seeking the Lord with all the heart and mind and soul. If we accept not the truth in the love of it, we may be among the number who will see the miracles wrought by Satan in these last days, and believe them.—Letter 136, April 27, 1906, to Brethren Butler, Daniells, and Irwin. (Ellen White, 1906, This Day with God, page 126)

Leonard Ravenhill On Romanism: “The Greatest Forgery Lucifer Ever Made!”

by soulrefuge
“Evangelists today are wide-eyed to the might of Communism, but tight lipped at the menace of Romanism. America would shake from coast to coast in twenty-four hours if some preacher, anointed with the Holy Ghost, gave the Roman Catholic Church a broadside! We stir national interest against the cruel, half-civilized Mau Mau (wicked enough), but powwow with, and pander to, the Roman Catholic Church! These priests who dope mens souls, these idolatrous “masses,” these Calvary eclipsing prayers to Mary, these miserable millions cheated in life and in death by the greatest forgery Lucifer ever made.” (Why Revival Tarries by Leonard Ravenhill, Bethany House Publishers, 1988, Copyright 1959)

Those words were written 50 years ago in a book by Leonard Ravenhill. Mr Ravenhill was apparently very aware and concerned at the great compromise that he saw between true Biblical Christianity and the Roman Catholic Church. It is so rare to hear a preacher tell it like it is when it comes to this idolatrous system that we know as the Roman Catholic Church. Listen to Mr Ravenhill as he refers to those idolatrous “masses” (Roman Catholic Masses), and the “Calvary eclipsing prayers to Mary” in his book. What a stark difference there is in his speech, compared with that of the well known and popular preachers of today, including Billy Graham. Leonard Ravenhill was very accurate in his description of “These Priests who dope mens souls” because that is exactly what is happening. I spoke about the deception of the Roman Catholic Mass which you can read here and you will see clearly that it is truly a horrendous deception. Take heed to the warnings being given here today! Leonard Ravenhill held nothing back when he referred to Romanism (Roman Catholicism) as being “the greatest forgery Lucifer ever made.” Once again Leonard Ravenhill is speaking the truth without compromise and he gets right to the point. It has been 50 years since Leonard Ravenhill wrote those words in his book “Why Revival Tarries” and today there is scarcely an outcry against Rome from the pulpits of the mainline churches, even those who consider themselves to be “on fire” for the Lord. This has become a no-no in the modern church and it does not fit in with the lingo of this modern day. The lingo that comes from the Vatican is all about “dialogue” and how we need to talk with each other. Be careful, because the Devil will “dialogue” your soul right into Hell, if you let him! But don’t you let him! Believe me when I tell you this, that Rome and the Vatican have but one desire and that is to bring every “Christian” and many others under their leadership with the Pope as the leader.

Keith Green was another person who was very outspoken against Roman Catholicism. Here is a quote from the late Keith Green from his “Catholic Chronicles” series of articles.

“It is obvious by even this brief glimpse into the doctrines of mortal and venial sins, confession, penance, and purgatory, that the Roman Catholic Church has constructed one of the most unbiblical doctrinal systems that has ever been considered “Christian”. The fear, anguish, and religious bondage that such a system of “reward and punishment” creates, has tormented millions of lives for centuries, and continues to prey on those who are ignorant of the biblical way of salvation. To merely call such a system “a cult”, would be to throw it into the vast category of religions and quasi-religions that are currently making the rounds of our college campuses and city streets, snatching up many an unsuspecting youth. No, the Roman Church is not a cult. It’s an empire! With its own ruler, its own laws, and its own subjects! The empire has no borders, it encompasses the globe with its eye on every person who does not vow allegiance. It calls the members of other faiths “separated brethren” (The term used by Vatican II to describe the members of Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant churches.) and has as its goal the eventual bringing together of everyone under its flag. I know that many will not be convinced or moved by this article (or any of the others) to make such a conclusion. They are impressed by what they’ve heard about recent stirrings among the Catholics in the “charismatic renewal”. Many evangelicals (especially Charismatics) have been thrilled by the reports of Catholics speaking in tongues, dancing in the Spirit, having nights of joy and praise, even attending “charismatic masses”. Mouths that used to speak out boldly against the Church of Rome have been quieted by the times. It no longer is in vogue to speak of the pope as “the antichrist” (Although the following people unhesitatingly did: Martin Luther, John Bunyan, John Huss, John Wycliffe, John Calvin, William Tyndale, John Knox, Thomas Bacon, John Wesley, Samuel Cooper, John Cotton, and Jonathan Edwards.) or the Catholic Church as the “whore of Babylon”. Now Protestants unwittingly believe that “our differences are not so great”. Ah, that is just what She needs us to think! I’ve never completely understood why God led me to write these articles. But it becomes more clear with each day of study, and each page of research. Never has something so black and wicked, gotten away with appearing so holy and mysteriously beautiful . . . for so long!” (The Catholic Chronicles – Keith Green)

We are living in a day where there is a tidal wave of false teachings and Roman Catholicism is truly a giant tsunami in the midst of all of them. The modern day “church” is run much like the business world, and Pastors entertain many people who they know are compromising with Rome, but they say nothing because they know that “one hand washes the other.” Instead of standing for truth as people such as Leonard Ravenhill and Keith Green and the thousands (possibly millions) of faithful martyrs did, they simply remain silent knowing that few will notice what they are doing. They receive the “praise of men” as many laud them for their Christian service, but deep down they know that they are not warning the people as they should. How can they warn the people when they know that they are working with people, and receiving large monetary donations from ministries who cavort with Rome? They do not realize that they are responsible for the sheep who sit under them. They do not realize that the souls in their congregations are being “doped” (and duped) by the modern day Ecumenical (apostasy) movement that is so crafty. Are you among them?

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

Man Castrates Teen Daughter's 57-Year-Old Boyfriend

Man Castrates Teen Daughter's 57-Year-Old BoyfriendA German man was frustrated with the police's inability to stop his 17-year-old daughter from seeing her 57-year-old boyfriend. So he took matters into his own hands, and cut off the boyfriend's balls with a bread knife.

You know how awkward it is, meeting your girlfriend's dad? Usually, though, it's not this awkward. Or bloody! Forty-seven-year-old Helmut Seifert, a German man born in Russia, was feeling a bit testy about the fact that his daughter was dating a man forty years her senior—something he learned, bizarrely, through an anonymous phone call. He was also not pleased that the police wouldn't do anything about it. So he went a little nuts:

"The man then recruited two work colleagues at his factory and then went to the house of the victim," said police.

"The man was forced to remove his trousers and, fully conscious, he was castrated. The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator."

The man was close to bleeding to death but managed to call police. His life was saved but he remains a eunuch for life.

Seifert, clearly a bad egg, has pleaded guilty and will stand trial for attempted murder.
