College student and pizza delivery driver, Sam Swicegood was delivering a pizza in the Glen Burnie area of Maryland – where a friend of his was recently robbed at gunpoint – so he hid a fiberglass tent pole up his sleeve before approaching the residence. Swicegood needed the tent pole to protect himself from a gang of teens. Unfortunately for Spicewood, his self defense may have also shrunk his paycheck.
