The Georgia GOP happily adopted a resolution condemning the “Battlefield USA” NDAA bill. The bill was perceived as a radical move by Obama’s presidency. We can’t have that!
The convention then passed an amendment saying it would not endorse any candidate who supported NDAA.
It was then just about to pass the overall amended resolution, until . . . someone realized, hey, Romney supported NDAA, too.
That would have meant Ron Paul was the only viable option for the Georgia GOP. For the establishment leaders, we can’t have that!
But instead of voting on the measure—which was sure to pass—the establishment withdrew the whole resolution and it was never voted on.
So apparently, for establishment Republicans, Ron Paul as president would be worse than the Federal government detaining its own citizens without trial.
