MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A woman who claimed she was being held against her will by a man she met on the Internet slipped a note to a York City bank teller, pleading for help.

The teller at the PNC Bank in Continental Square called police shortly after getting the note on Wednesday afternoon.

"The teller used great judgment on this. She could obviously tell from the woman's appearance that she probably had been assaulted and that she truly was in need of help. So the teller was very instrumental in us being able to determine where these people were at," said Lt. David Lash.

Officers from the Northern York Regional Police Department were able to find the man and woman at the Motel 6 along Arsenal Road (Route 30) in Manchester Township on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m.

Police said when the suspect, Jason Zacek, 37, of Aberdeen, Md., spotted uniformed officers, he tried to walk away. Officers stopped him and detained him.

Police said they also checked on the woman who was with Zacek. Police stated in a news release that the woman, Lynanne Spagnoletti, 33, of Manchester Township, had abrasions and bruises on her arms and upper body. Spagnoletti told police that Zacek had abused her at the Super 8 Motel along Arsenal Road on Sunday night, and then removed her cell phone battery so she could not call for help. Spagnoletti told police that Zacek told her he was going to kill her and "cut off her head in the mountains."

Police said Spagnoletti's daughter was also with her at the Motel 6 at the time of Zacek's arrest on Wednesday.

Zacek is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, and false identification to law enforcement. He is being held at the York County Prison awaiting bail.
