We are happy to announce that as of Sabbath, August 11
Pastor "Chick" was released from the San Bernardino Co. Central
Detention Facility, having served his complete 30-day sentence. Pr. McGill
fasted for the duration of his incarceration and was met by media and
supporters on his release.
During his stay in jail at the behest of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pr. McGill was physically assaulted for refusing to work on the Sabbath day. He has announced his intent to continue his fast an additional ten days, emulating the 40 days spent by our Savior in the wilderness. His arrest was the result of a lawsuit by the Seventh-day Adventist Church requiring him to cease usage of the name "Creation Seventh Day Adventist."
Pr. McGill offered this official statement to reporters, describing some of his experiences - including being assaulted for Sabbath observance while in custody.

Bro. Chartier was released two days earlier having served
his 10-day sentence, during which he also fasted from solid foods. While we are
blessed to have our brethren returned to us, it is important to note that this
release does not mark the end of the matter. The Seventh-day Adventist Church's
leadership has refused to relent, and continues to post inaccurate and
defamatory reports of the situation to the media and its own members. It is
only a matter of time before the religious leaders continue to press the court
with the cry of "Crucify them!" that they have asked for since 2009;
specifically, the permanent jailing of anyone persisting to use the name
"Creation Seventh Day Adventist."
We are attaching with this email two documents; the first is
a press release for distribution to the media, and the second is a text record
of the statement Pastor "Chick" delivered upon his release. We thank
you for your prayers and support as we continue to "overcome the beast and
his image."
