Former House stenographer who went on religious rant speaks out

From Dianne Reidy

Hello Dear Friends!

First of all, let me thank you all for your prayers in response to the email we sent out regarding our interview this past Monday

I have been asked by several people how the interview with Fox went this past week.

A very small segment of it was on TV, which someone graciously created a video and placed it on YouTube, complete with Scripture that really blessed me.  It's here at this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkb1FMZjmsE
and then there was an article written on Fox's web site as well:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/04/09/former-house-stenographer-who-went-on-religious-rant-speaks-out/#
(Both links are provided if you are interested in them.)

This is why Danny and I prefer the youtube format....it is hard to be misquoted when you are doing the actual quoting!  (You may quote me on that!!!Emoji

The individual who interviewed me is Chad Pergam, the senior correspondent for Fox on Capitol Hill.  Chad is a wonderful man who I had the pleasure of knowing during my time at the Capitol.

Please pray for him and his wife as we hope that this tugs on their hearts to ask questions and investigate the wonderful grace of our Savior!

Thank you for your prayers!

Dianne

It is just a few steps from the floor of the House of Representatives to the lectern where the president of the United States delivers his annual State of the Union message.

But former House of Representatives stenographer Dianne Reidy believes the journey which took her to the rostrum last fall began nine years ago. Long before Reidy commandeered the dais in the House chamber and began a religious-themed rant during last October's vote to end the partial government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling.

Reidy's rant made her the most famous stenographer in the world.

It also got her fired.

"When I walked into the building for my interview, I knew this is where God had me for his purpose.

Not my skills. But he would have me strategically placed at the House of Representatives and I never knew the purpose of it," Reidy said in an interview with Fox News, speaking out months later about the bizarre episode which startled lawmakers at the time.

Reidy tried to offer her side. She believed her hiring to document and transcribe what lawmakers say all day in press conferences, at hearings and on the floor -- was God's plan. Set in motion nearly a decade ago and culminating during one of the most important and watched roll call votes in recent memory.

"I still felt that there was more of a purpose in this than just my family's security and a great salary," said Reidy. "It was leading up to this. God was revealing to me this is the purpose that I was sent there for."

An inferno consumed Capitol Hill last fall. Congress morphed into a combustible tinderbox as the entire federal government largely shuttered for the first time in nearly 17 years. Lawmakers traded opprobrium in a pitched standoff with the White House. Tempers flared as the surly atmosphere spilled over into debates about closed monuments and political motives. Tensions erupted over one warm afternoon during the partial shutdown as 34-year-old Miriam Carey led U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) and the U.S. Secret Service on a mad chase through the streets of Washington and around the Capitol. The pursuit ended with the spectacular crash of a USCP cruiser followed by officers shooting and killing the unarmed Carey by the Hart Senate Office Building.

It was almost too much. The car chase was the last thing anyone needed as lawmakers, aides and journalists all dreaded heading to work each day -- sleep-deprived, angst-ridden and testy.

They weren't the only ones losing sleep. It was a fitful time for Dianne Reidy, too.

A few weeks after the chase, Reidy would shock lawmakers during the big vote -- jammering about God, Satan, a "house divided" and a "deception" that the U.S. was "one nation under God." But in her words, Reidy didn't initially comprehend why she wasn't sleeping.

"The Lord was waking me up in the middle of the night for about two weeks straight. I had that stirring in my spirit. Something was going on. He was doing something in me. So I was just getting into the word of God. Getting into the Bible every night for two weeks," Reidy said. "It was very, very peaceful. The scriptures really came to life for me, you know, speaking to me."

Reidy says those nocturnal Bible studies led her to the book of Revelation and Joel, one of the 12 books of minor prophets. Joel centers around a national call to repent and a reward from God.

"It was clear to me that this was about judgment on our nation -- that it was a warning for our nation. And it was also about God extending his gift of mercy," Reidy said.

Reidy says she wasn't sure how this would all play out until three days before the pivotal vote. It all came into sharper focus as efforts intensified to re-open the government.

"I was praying all day and the days leading up to it. Lord, crucify my flesh because in my flesh I cannot do it. I do not want to get up and do this. This is not my thing. This is God's thing," Reidy said.

On the House floor, eight stenographers rotate in 15 minute shifts to document what lawmakers say. Reidy said it soon became clear in her mind that her shift would come up during the vote to re-open the government and hike the debt limit.

"The Lord had positioned me for that perfect timing," Reidy said, noting she didn't know that she would speak before the House. And Reidy said when she did launch into her oration, she could have done it from a number of podiums throughout the chamber. She ultimately wound up at the one of the dais where the president addresses Congress and the nation during State of the Union.

Reidy says she doesn't remember much after that as she casually strode to the dais and asked Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., who was presiding over the vote, if the microphones were switched on.
Reidy then began, stunning lawmakers milling about on the floor. Reidy's voice strained above the din, starting with "God will not be mocked.'

Chamber security personnel soon lugged Reidy off the dais and into the hall before stuffing her in an elevator. WNYC-FM reporter Todd Zwillich and Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times snared a brief recording of Reidy in the corridor. Along the way, Reidy shouted "This is not one nation under God. It never was" and "the Constitution would not have been built by Free Masons."

"I am happy to have that recording because I have no memory of what was said," noted Reidy.

The elevator doors closed as Reidy spat out one last proclamation.

"Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ," exhorted Reidy.

And it was over.

In the aftermath, Reidy says some people believe her when she tells them it was the Holy Spirit speaking.

"Then there is the camp that thinks I was stressed out from work and had a breakdown," Reidy said.

"For those who don't believe that it was the Holy Spirit speaking and that I'm a lunatic, I would just say, what if you're wrong?"

Reidy said she presumed she'd be fired and even thought she may be arrested. That didn't happen. But she and her husband are now losing their home.

"It came down to a choice. Do I choose the worldly things? The beautiful home that we've raised our beautiful twin, eight-year-old daughters in? Or do I choose the Lord? Do I choose God? That's a no-brainer for me. I choose God."

And as to whether God's message got through, Reidy says she isn't sure.

"Only God knows," she said.

EXPOSED: Noah’s Ark Has Been Discovered. Why Do They Keep it Secret?

Noah-Ark-Top

Why is this not a BIG story?
I’m often amazed at our lack of knowledge about history. Ordinary people are hungry for this information, yet the organizations responsible to disseminate these facts seem to have an agenda to keep us in the dark. This is especially true when it comes to our ancient human history.
Noah-Top

I won’t hold you in suspense with this article: The Ark of Noah has been found. It’s real. I’ll describe the evidence in some detail and end with the historical and religious implications.
How It Was Discovered
In 1959, Turkish army captain Llhan Durupinar discovered an unusual shape while examining aerial photographs of his country. The smooth shape, larger than a football field, stood out from the rough and rocky terrain at an altitude of 6,300 feet near the Turkish border with Iran.
Noah-Ark-01

Capt. Durupinar was familiar with the biblical accounts of the Ark and its association with Mount Ararat in Turkey, but he was reluctant to jump to any conclusions. The region was very remote, yet it was inhabited with small villages. No previous reports of an object this odd had been made before. So he forwarded the photographic negative to a famous aerial photography expert named Dr. Brandenburger, at Ohio State University.
Brandenburger was responsible for discovering the Cuban missile bases during the Kennedy era from reconnaissance photos, and after carefully studying the photo, he concluded: “I have no doubt at all, that this object is a ship. In my entire career, I have never seen an object like this on a stereo photo.”
Noah-Ark-02

In 1960 the picture [above] was published in LIFE magazine under the heading of Noahs Ark? That same year a group of Americans accompanied Capt. Durupinar to the site for a day and a half. They were expecting to find artifacts on the surface or something that would be unquestionably related to a ship of some kind. They did some digging in the area but found nothing conclusive and announced to the anxiously waiting world that it appeared to be a natural formation.
Most of the global media turned away from the find and it became a non-story.
In 1977 Ron Wyatt visited the site. Obtaining official permission, Ron and others conducted more thorough research over a period of several years. They used metal detection surveys, subsurface radar scans, and chemical analysis — real science — and their findings were startling. The evidence was undeniable. This was the Ark of Noah.
The Visual Evidence
The first part of the survey was to examine the object and take its measurements. The shape looked like hull of a ship. One end was pointed as you would expect from bow [below: D] and the opposite end was blunt like a stern. The distance from bow to stern was 515 feet, or exactly 300 Egyptian cubits. The average width was 50 cubits. These were the exact measurements mentioned in the Bible.
Noah-Ark-03

On the starboard side (right) near the stern there were four vertical bulges protruding from the mud [B], at regular intervals, that were determined to be the “ribs” of the hull [see below]. Opposite to these, on the port side, a single rib [A] protrudes from the mud. You can see its curved shape very clearly. Surrounding it are more ribs, still largely buried in the mud, but visible upon close examination.
Remember that this object, if it is the Ark, is extremely old. The wood has been petrified. Organic matter has been replaced by minerals from the earth. Only the shapes and traces of the original wood remain. Perhaps this is why the expedition in 1960 was disappointed. They anticipated finding and retrieving chucks of wood, long since eroded.
Noah-Ark-04

From the position of the object in the middle of an obvious mud flow, it is obvious that the object slid down more than a mile from its original location. Geologists believe it was originally over 1000 feet higher in the mountain and encased in a shell of hardened mud. They think that an earthquake in 1948 cracked the mud shell and revealed the structure. This is confirmed by stories from the surrounding villagers who tell of its “sudden appearance” around that time.
Noah-Ark-05

Biblical accounts of the Ark describe it as having as many as six levels. The assumed shape of the Ark seems consistent with the bulge [C] in the middle of the object. In fact, as we will soon learn, radar scans of the structure suggest that this bulge is the collapsed debris of these levels.
Although most people think of the Ark as being rectangular, that only applies to the top decks. The sleek shape of the hull is necessary to enable the huge ship to remain stable in the water and survive tremendous waves.
Ground Penetrating Radar
The human eye needs to see reflected light to recognize an object. To visualize what remains below the earth, scientists use microwaves which can penetrate the ground and bounce back when they hit something solid. This technique is commonly used to locate oil and other minerals. Called Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), the apparatus us made from an antenna that transmits, then listens to receive the “echo” and prints the result on a piece of paper. The delay and strength of this echo tell the geologists how solid and at what depth the objects are under the earth.
Noah-Ark-06

The team of geologists didn’t scan the entire object. Instead, they marked out lines that crossed the object with yellow tape. Then they dragged the antenna (about the size of a lawnmower) over the lines and watched the output on the paper recorder. When they got a strong “hit” — meaning there was something solid underneath — they would record the position on the tape [above]. Later, when they made a map of the object, the tape and the location of the “hits” they realized that there was indeed a structure underneath the mud.
“This data does not represent natural geology. These are man made structures. These reflections are appearing too periodic… too periodic to be random in that type of natural pace.” - Ron Wyatt of SIR Imaging team

Noah-Ark-07

The radar cans revealed this structure [above] under the mud. The symmetry and logical placement of these objects shows that this is unmistakably a man made structure, most likely the Ark of Noah.
Artifacts Retrieved From The Ark
Using the GPR, Ron Wyatt discovered an open cavity on the starboard side. He used an improvised drill to make core sample inside this cavity and retrieved several very interesting objects. Below you can see the artifacts which were sent for laboratory analysis. On the left is the bore hole [see below], followed by what turned out to be petrified animal dung, then a petrified antler and lastly a piece of cat hair.
Noah-Ark-08

Perhaps the most significant find from the Ark itself is a piece of petrified wood. When this was first found it appeared to be a large beam. But upon closer examination it is actually three pieces of plank that have been laminated together with some kind of organic glue! This is the same technology used in modern plywood. Lamination makes the total strength of the wood much greater than the combined strength of the pieces. This suggests a knowledge of construction far beyond anything we knew existed in the ancient world.
Noah-Ark-09

Tests by Galbraith Labs in Knoxville, Tennessee, showed the sample to contain over 0.7% organic carbon, consistent with fossilized wood. The specimen was once living matter.

Examination reveals the glue oozed from the layers. The outside of the wood appears to have been coated with bitumen.
Even more surprising were laboratory analyses which not only revealed that the petrified wood contained carbon (proving it was once wood) but there were iron nails [above right] embedded in the wood!
We like to imagine that humanity evolved in a neat sequence of eras, each named after the technology that was discovered. We have the Stone Age (where man developed arrows and stone tools), the Bronze Age (where metals were combined and heated to make tools and household items) and lastly the Iron Age (where iron and steel objects were made by heating iron ore and adding other material — like charcoal — to strengthen it). The Iron Age is usually placed at 1200-1000 BC, yet we have iron nails being used in this extremely old construction
But Wait… There’s More!
The most surprising find was discovered with sensitive metal detectors. The team located several strong “hits” that, when dug up, revealed large disc shaped rivets. From simple observation of the metal it was possible to see where the rivet had been hammered after being inserted through a hole [below].
Noah-Ark-10

If rivets being used in ancient construction doesn’t impress you, this surely will.
An analysis of the metal used to make the rivets revealed that they were a combination of iron (8.38%), aluminum (8.35%) and titanium (1.59%). Remember these trace metals have survived petrification and so do not indicate the exact content in the original material. (see Report from Galbraith Labs)
We know the aluminum was incorporated in the metallic mixture because it does not exist in metallic form in nature. This implies an extremely advanced knowledge of metallurgy and engineering. Characteristics of an iron-aluminum alloy have been investigated in The Russian Chemical Bulletin (2005) and reveal that this alloy forms a thin film of aluminum oxide which protects the material from rust and corrosion. The addition of titanium would provide added strength. This seems to have worked. The rivets have survived from antiquity!
The Surrounding Areas
Several miles from the location of the Ark, huge stones were discovered, some standing upright while others lying on the ground. These stones, weighing many tons, have holes carved in them. Scientists have determined that they were anchors and the holes would have been their attachment to a ship with hemp rope.
Noah-Ark-11

Often these stones will have crosses carved in them, from centuries ago when pilgrims made the journey to visit the Ark. Yes, the Ark was well known in the Middle Ages and even before. And its location was recorded in many historical documents.
“And the Ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.” – Genesis 8:4-5

The Gilgamesh Epic (650 BC) gives Mt. Nisir as the landing place of the Ark. The local name for the town where the Ark was found is Nasar.
The annals of Ashurnasurpal II of Assyria (833-859 BC) places it south of the Zab river (correct).
Theophilus of Antioch (115-185 AD) said the Ark could be seen in his day in the Arabian mountains.

Later Church Fathers also mention the Ark as late as the mid 7th century.
In the 13th century, Willam, a traveler, stated for the first time that Mt. Masis was the Ark location (present-day Mt. Ararat).
Ptolemy’s Geographia (1548) mentions the mountains of Armenia as the place of landing. So does the traveler Nicolas de Nicolay (1558).
Pilgrims to the site would gather bits and pieces of the petrified wood which would be used as charms to ward off evil. When they encountered the anchors, they had no doubt about their association with the Ark. They often carved one big cross to represent Noah and smaller crosses representing his family.
Noah-Ark-12

The huge anchors would have been suspended from the keel of the ship. This was a common practice among ancient mariners to stabilize a heavy ship and ensure that the bow is always facing the on-coming waves. A “top heavy” ship, such as the Ark, could easily be capsized by a wave approaching from the side. This is yet further proof that Noah’s Ark was a reality and that it has indeed been found in Turkey.

A ruling group is a ruling group so long as it can nominate its successors. The Party is not concerned with perpetuating its blood but with perpetuating itself.  Who wields power is not important provided the hierarchical structure remains always the same.

These pictures are meant to make us think!!!   In this day and age everyone has a opinion who rules.?   Some think it is the Democrats or the Republicans, Globalists, the Masons and then there is the group who thinks the Jews run the world.   Lets let the pictures do the talking!!  I think if we look back at history we would see who really rules.   All I say is let history be history.    You can get pictures by doing a google search on "a person and pope" and then selecting images.  A picture is worth a thousand words.  24 thousands words with 24 pictures.

Kennedy's meeting with Pope Paul VI at the Vatican was historic: the first Roman Catholic president of the United States was seeing the Roman Catholic pontiff only days after his coronation. Kennedy _ who struggled against anti-Catholic bias during his presidential campaign -only shook hands with the pope rather than kissing his ring, as                is the usual practice for Catholics.

President Johnson wanted to see him, but the pontiff was a chief of a state not officially recognized by the U.S. The solution: Johnson flew to New York for dinner at the apartment of his friend Arthur Goldberg, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, and the pontiff was welcomed to Johnson's suite at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel the next day.

When the president meets the pope

When President Barack Obama meets Thursday at the Vatican with Pope Francis, it will be the 28th time that a sitting American president has met with the man who leads the Catholic Church and its estimated 1.2 billion faithful worldwide.

For nearly 140 years after America won its independence, presidents didn’t look at a meeting with the pope as a hot ticket. The dominance of Protestants in the new nation, persistent questions about who really led the Catholic Church and from where, to say nothing of the difficulties of travel, all made such summits impossible.

That changed in 1919, when Woodrow Wilson became the first U.S. president to be granted a papal audience. John F. Kennedy, America’s only Catholic president, made his Vatican pilgrimage just a few months before his assassination in 1963. Jimmy Carter played host in 1979 to the first White House visit by a reigning pope. George W. Bush holds the record for papal greeting; he met with two popes during his eight years in office, holding a total of six meetings.

Popes frequently criticize U.S. policy — legal abortion, the death penalty and the war in Iraq have all been targets. And presidents’ papal audiences are famously steeped in ceremony, with the Vatican’s Swiss Guard in full regalia accompanying the president and women from the U.S. delegation wearing veils.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t lighter moments.

Jim Nicholson, who served as Bush’s ambassador to the Vatican from 2001 to 2005, recalled how Pope John Paul II lightened the mood when he welcomed Bush for their third and final meeting in June 2004.

Bush, who was taking a beating in the media over the Iraq War, which the pope had opposed, walked into their meeting room escorted by an American cardinal, Edmund Szoka.

The pope slumped in his chair, weighed down physically by the ravages of Parkinson's disease.

“How are you feeling this morning, Holy Father?” Szoka asked. The pope said nothing. The cardinal repeated the question. John Paul struggled to raise his head, and it looked like he was trying to smile.

He looked at Szoka, then at Bush, then back.

“I don’t know yet,” the pope said slowly. “I haven’t had a chance to read the American press.”

“They had had their deep division over Iraq,” Nicholson said in an interview with Yahoo News. But “here was the pope, expressing a kind of solidarity with President Bush, who was getting whacked in the press.”

Thursday’s meeting is Obama’s first face-to-face with Pope Francis, an Argentine-born former nightclub bouncer whose sky-high popularity around the world recalls the president’s own high standing in 2008.

The commander in chief of the world’s only superpower has often expressed admiration for the leader of one of the globe’s “spiritual superpowers.” And Obama is hardly alone: Republican House Speaker John Boehner has extended an open-ended invitation for Francis to become the first pope to ever address a joint session of Congress.

By the time Woodrow Wilson held the first recorded president-pope powwow in January 1919, the two had exchanged a series of written notes.

The two had chiefly corresponded about the negotiations to end World War I.

“Humanity has its eyes fixed on the great President of the greatest democracy in the world,” the pope wrote Wilson on Nov. 8, 1918.

When Wilson and Pope Benedict XV came face to face on Jan. 4, 1919, the president’s doctor chronicled the meeting in his diary. “The entrance of His Holiness was announced by the tinkling of a small bell,” Cary T. Grayson wrote. “He was small of stature, not more than five feet four inches, and apparently weighed about one hundred and thirty pounds.”

It took 40 more years for the next audience — the Great Depression, World War II and virulent anti-Catholic sentiment in the United States threw up obstacles between American presidents and popes.

In 1928, for example, New York Gov. Al Smith — Herbert Hoover’s Democratic rival — had to contend with editorial cartoons showing him kneeling to the pope, as well as whisper campaigns that he would annul Protestant marriages and forbid Americans from owning Bibles.

Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Dec. 6, 1959, meeting set the pattern presidents have followed ever since: Every chief executive has met at least once with the pope.

Reporters entered the room to find the president, the pope and some of their closest aides “roaring with laughter,” according to Gen. Vernon Walters, a U.S. military adviser.

Why? The Italian-born pope had observed that he spoke French, Bulgarian and Turkish but struggled with his English lessons. Eisenhower asked how the effort was going. The pope replied: “The more I study English, the more I realize that papal infallibility does not cover pronunciation.”

Kennedy faced some of the same ugliness that helped to doom Smith’s campaign. Norman Vincent Peale, perhaps the country’s most influential Protestant pastor, suggested that Kennedy’s election would erode the boundary between church and state. Kennedy’s formal rebuttal is the stuff of political campaign legend.

Kennedy sent a delegation to Pope Paul VI’s installation ceremony in June 1963 and met with him at the Vatican on July 2, 1963.

An undated note from the pope to the president is addressed “To Our Beloved Son, John F. Kennedy, President of the United States of America.” That’s the State Department’s translation, anyway: The original note was in Latin.

The pope gave the visiting president several gifts, including a signed photograph, a replica of Michelangelo’s Pieta and a copy of his remarks welcoming Kennedy back to the Vatican 30 years after accompanying his parents to the coronation of Pope Pius XII.

“Unfortunately, the Pope declined to sign this document,” a U.S. Embassy staffer wrote to a White House aide. “This may diminish its souvenir value somewhat.”

In 1979, Carter became the first president to welcome a pope to the White House. But it was Ronald Reagan who found in the Vatican one of his most important Cold War allies.

John Paul II, the first Polish pope, did not hesitate to challenge Moscow and preach the cause of religious freedom, a direct blow at communism.

Bush credited John Paul II with inspiring his policy restricting government funding for embryonic stem cell research. While the pope famously came out strongly against the invasion of Iraq, Nicholson notes that John Paul II lent moral authority to the war in Afghanistan.

Nicholson’s first meeting fell on Sept. 13, 2001, with America — and the world — reeling from the terrorist attacks two days earlier.

“We met in his library. He was still ambulatory and came to the door to welcome me,” the ambassador told Yahoo News. “It was all pretty regal for a farm boy.” The two men set aside their prepared remarks.

“We sat down, said a prayer for the victims of 9/11. He was grieving as heavily as I was,” Nicholson said. “He said, ‘We have to stop these people who kill in the name of God.’”

“It was a real affirmative statement for us that really helped us put the coalition together in Europe to go into Afghanistan because he had lent his moral authority,” he said.

Obama hopes to capture a bit of that as well. Francis might raise the issue of the Affordable Care Act’s mandate to cover contraception. The pope might also express concerns about the plight of Christians across the Middle East. But the president has made clear that Francis’s appeal to battle poverty and inequality resonates with him.

“I am especially looking forward to returning to the Vatican next month to meet His Holiness, Pope Francis, whose message about caring for the ‘least of these’ is one that I hope all of us heed,” the president said at the National Prayer Breakfast one month ago. “Like Matthew, he has answered the call of Jesus, who said ‘follow me,’ and he inspires us with his words and deeds, his humility, his mercy and his missionary impulse to serve the cause of social justice.”

Truth Regarding Rapture, Tribulation, Jesus' 2nd Coming And The Anti-Christ

Matthew 24:29-31

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Where in the Bible does it say the tribulation is 7 years in duration, and the Rapture precedes the tribulation?

The 70 weeks of Daniel were 490 literal years that was a period of probation for national Israel:

Dan 9:24-27 (KJV)

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem [457 B.C., Ezra 7] unto [the coming of] the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks [7 + 62 =  69 weeks, 27 A.D.]: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

26 And after threescore and two [62] weeks shall Messiah [the prince] be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the [Titus] prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

27 And he [Messiah the Prince] shall confirm the covenant with many for one week [7 years]: and in the midst of the [70th] week [31 A.D.] he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease [be crucified as the lamb of God], and for [because of] the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 9:24-27

Da 9:24

Seventy {a} weeks are determined upon {b} thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the {c} transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

(a) He alludes to Jeremiah's prophecy, who prophesied that their captivity would be seventy years: but now God's mercy would exceed his judgment seven times as much, which would be 490 years, even until the coming of Christ, and so then it would continue forever.

(b) Meaning Daniel's nation, over whom he was careful.

(c) To show mercy and to put sin out of remembrance.

Da 9:25

Know therefore and understand, [that] from {d} the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven {e} weeks, and {f} threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

(d) That is, from the time that Cyrus gave them permission to depart.

(e) These weeks make forty-nine years, of which forty-six are referred to the time of the building of the temple, and three to the laying of the foundation.

(f) Counting from the sixth year of Darius, who gave the second commandment for the building of the temple are sixty-two weeks, which make 434 years, which comprehend the time from the building of the temple until the baptism of Christ.

Da 9:26

And after threescore and two {g} weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but {h} not for himself: and the people of the {i} prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

(g) In this week of the seventy, will Christ come and preach and suffer death.

(h) He will seem to have no beauty, nor to be of any estimation; Isa 53:2 .

(i) Meaning Titus, Vespasians's son, who would come and destroy both the temple, and the people, without any hope of recovery.

Da 9:27

And he {j} shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to {k} cease, {l} and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(j) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(k) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(l) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.
