The “Trinity” Is A False Doctrine

Amplify’d from 777denny.wordpress.com
Did you know that not only is the concept of the “Trinity” not taught in the scriptures and wasn’t taught by 1st century Christian leaders, and not only was it an invention due to the impetus of Constantine, but that many “Trinities” existed in Pagan religions for centuries before this concept was adopted in 325 at the First Council of Nicaea? This was the beginning of the end of separation of church and state, where the Catholic church began persecuting those that would not adhere to their false doctrines, thus heralding in the age of the false church which began to perpetually persecute, torture and murder those who chose to obey the commandments of Christ, rather than succumb to the commandments of men.
An early concept of Who Elohim is was called Arianism, after a man named Arius, who taught a non-trinitarian theology that God the Father and the Son did not exist together eternally. This belief discounts the plain teaching in the gospel of John which states the following: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made… He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..”
This above scripture, along with many others, define Yahusha as being the only begotten Son of the Father sent as the Messiah to the earth to save men from paying for their sins, and Whom existed eternally with Yahuah from the beginning.
Another early teaching was called Semi-Arianism, which taught “the truly orthodox view of the Son, that he was forever with the Father,” but were considered to be blasphemers of the third person of the Trinitarian god, since they did not count the Spirit OF Elohim “in the Godhead with the Father and the Son.” These are also referred to as “binitarians,” or can be referred to as the belief in “binitarianism.”
Binitarianism is different from the “Oneness” doctrine, which asserts that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit of Elohim are all the same “Person.” This teaching is acutely insufficient to describe the Godhead, since, for instance, how could Yahusha pray to Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane? This false doctrine also violates the following scriptures:
  • Gen. 1:1, 26 – The plural word for “Elohim” is used regarding creation, indicating that Elohim (i.e., the Godhead) is composed of separate individuals.

  • Col. 1:16-19; Heb. 1:2 – Yahusha was active in creation as a separate individual.

  • Jn. 1:1  – Uses the Greek definite article, to differentiate between two divine individuals in this verse.

  • Jn. 14:23 – Yahusha uses the plural pronoun “we,” which proves He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • 1 Cor. 11:3 – Christ is the head of man, and Yahuah is the head of Christ, proving that Christ and the Father are separate individuals.

  • 2 Jn. 1:9 – John uses the word “both” to show that the Father and Son are separate individuals.

  • 1 Tim. 2:5 – Yahusha is portrayed as the mediator between man and Yahuah the Father, proving that Christ is a separate individual from the Father.

  • Rom. 8:34 – Yahusha is portrayed as seated at the right hand of Yahuah, interceding for believers, proving that He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • 1 Jn. 2:1 – Yahusha is portrayed as our Advocate in heaven, pleading our case before Yahuah, proving that He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • 1 Cor. 15:23-24 – Yahusha will hand over the kingdom to the Father at the end, proving He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • Phil. 2:10-11 – Yahusha will be exalted for eternity in heaven, and bring glory to the Father, showing that He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • Heb. 12:2 – Yahusha is in heaven, sitting at the right hand of the throne of Yahusha, proving He is a separate individual from the Father.

  • Heb. 13:8 – Yahusha is portrayed as the same for all eternity, proving that He is always a separate individual from the Father.

  • Rev. 22:1, 3 – Yahuah the Father and the Lamb (Yahusha) are two separate individuals whom we will worship in heaven.

So, if there are two Persons in the Godhead (bitheism), where did the third one come from? It seems that since the holy scriptures do not teach nor mention a Trinity, and since there isn’t any writings by early church fathers or laity concerning this concept, it essentially was started by a man named Tertullian, who lived in North Africa and died around 220 AD.

The earliest Church Fathers, (within two generations of the Apostles of Christ) are usually called the Apostolic Fathers and include Clement of Rome, Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp of Smyrna, and do not speak of the Holy Spirit as a Person. In addition, the Didache, or “Teaching of the Twelve Disciples,” and a strange allegory called the “Shepherd of Hermas,” do not teach of a Trinity. Athenagoras of Athens (133-190AD) wrote that the Holy Spirit was an “effluence of God, flowing forth and returning to God like a ray of the sun.”

It wasn’t until 325AD, when Constantine (a pagan syncretist and Roman catholic emperor) convened the Council of Nicaea in order to develop a statement of faith that could unify the Roman catholic church, that the doctrine of the Trinity became popularized, declaring that the Father and the Son are of the same substance (homoousios), thereby taking a decidedly anti-Arian stand. Arius was then exiled to Illyria.

And then in 381AD, the First Council of Constantinople, convened by Roman emperor Theodosius I, then emperor of the East and a recent convert to early Catholicism, drew up a dogmatic statement on the Trinity and defined the Holy Spirit as having the same divinity expressed for the Son by the Council of Nicaea 56 years earlier.

So, let’s summarize what happened concerning the developement of the Trinity:

  1. The Trinity doctrine is not taught anywhere in scripture, but trinities were common in Paganism and were prominent in Egypt and Babylon.

  2. The beginnings of recognition of this doctrine started at the Council of Nicaea approximately 325 AD, hundreds of years after the last book in the Bible was written.

  3. The Council of Nicaea was organized by the Roman Emperor Constantine in which he had the final say on matters that he had little understanding of.

  4. Creed followed creed, and eventually idols were accepted as forms that we can worship God through, and Mary was exalted to be the Mother of God and worship of the saints was sanctioned.

  5. The organized church was built on top of these creeds, which are the foundation for many of today’s churches/denominations. These denominations are different than the Body of Christ spoken of in the scriptures, proving that most denominations are still rooted in a creed and in the Trinity doctrine, with most denominations still having the Trinity Doctrine as a foundation, of which originally came from Babylon.

  6. The mother of these denominations is the Roman Catholic Church, which has murdered anywhere from tens of millions to well over 50 million people, had armies and banned access to scripture to Christians, which also is known today as the Dark Ages.
During the Reformation, the teachings and authority of the Catholic Church was challenged, with some truths becoming popular once again to the Body of Christ.
As a result many new denominations started up, but unfortunately they held onto some of the creeds, and in particular the Trinity doctrine.
The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) is also responsible for burning to death millions of people, many of whom were Christians. They labeled people as heretics for things like reading scripture, translating scripture or daring to obey the scriptures instead of their traditions (traditions of men).
Most denominations today have a Statement of Faith as their foundation, and are usually based on creeds. Often Christians are required to take out membership, which often requires an acceptance of a particular Statement of Faith, even though it is unscriptural and deceives people into thinking that the denomination is the Church, and once they have membership, that they belong to the body of Christ. Anyone can agree to a Creed or Statement of Faith, yet they could be a murderer or rapist. The true Church is made up of Yahuah’s children and He dwells in them via his Spirit.

Now, let’s further establish Who Yahusha is:

  40. Yahuah the Father is greater than Yahusha the Son. John 14:28

  41. When all things are finally subject to Yahusha, the Son will be subject to the Father. 1 Corinthians 15:28

Here are some early church fathers concerning the Deity of Christ:

  • Barnabas, companion of Paul (c. 70-130AD)

“He is Lord of all the world, to whom God said at the foundation of the world, ‘Let us make man after our image, and after our likeness.’”

  • Ignatius, Bishop of the Church at Antioch (c. 105AD)

“God Himself was manifested in human form for the renewal of eternal life”

  •  Clement of Rome, Bishop of the Church at Rome (c. 150AD)

“Brethren, it is fitting that you should think of Jesus Christ as of God – as the Judge of the living and the dead.”

  • Irenaeus, Bishop of the Church at Lyons, Modern Day France (c. 180AD) “Thus He indicates in clear terms that He is God, and that His advent was in Bethlehem… God , then, was made man, and the Lord did Himself save us.” “He is God, for the name Immanuel indicates this.” “How can they be saved unless it was God who worked out their salvation upon earth? Or how shall man pass into God, unless God has first passed into man?”

  • Clement of Alexandria, Renowned Christian Teacher in Egypt (c. 195AD) “O the Great God! O the Perfect Child! The Son in the Father and the Father in the Son… God the Word, who became man for our sakes.” “Nothing, then, is hated by God, nor yet by the Word. For both are one – that is, God. For He has said, ‘In the beginning the Word was in God, and the Word was God.’” “The Word itself, that is the Son of God, is one with the Father by equality of substance. He is eternal and uncreated.”

  •  Hippolytus, Leading Presbyter at the Church in Rome (c. 205AD) “Although He endured the cross, yet as God He returned to life, having trampled upon death.”

  • Origen, Famous Pupil of Clement of Alexandria (c. 225AD)

“No one should be offended that the Savior is also God, seeing God is the Father. Likewise, since the Father is called Omnipotent, no one should be offended that the Son of God is also called Omnipotent. For in this way, the words will be true that He says to the Father: ‘All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.’” “The Son is not different from the Father in substance.”

Even Pagans noted the early Christians equating Christ with Elohim:

Pliny the Younger (61-112AD), also known as Gaius Plinius Caecilius Secundus, was the governor of Bithynia (AD 112) and a Roman senator. When writing to emperor Trajan asking for guidance on how he should treat the Christians in his province, he wrote that Christians were “meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verse a hymn to Christ as to a god…”

And William Lane Craig, in his book, “Reasonable Faith: Christian Truth and Apologetics”, writes, “Studies by NT scholars such as Martin Hengel of Tubingen University, C.F.D. Moule of Cambridge, and others have proved that within twenty years of the crucifixion a full-blown Christology proclaiming Jesus as God incarnate existed…the oldest Christian sermon, the oldest account of a Christian martyr, the oldest pagan report of the Church, and the oldest liturgical prayer (1 Corinthians 16:22) all refer to Christ as Lord and God.”

Now let’s take a look at what the Holy Spirit of Elohim is:

  • The Hebrew word for ’’Spirit,’’ or ’’Ruach,’’ is breath, wind, breeze, spirit, air, and strength.

  • Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a RUSHING, MIGHTY WIND, AND IT FILLED THE WHOLE HOUSE where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  • John 20:22 And when he had said this, HE BREATHED ON THEM and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit.

  • Ezekiel 37:4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I WILL CAUSE BREATH TO ENTER YOU, and ye shall live.

  • Ezekiel 37:9 Then said he unto me, PROPHECY UNTO THE WIND, prophesy, son of man, and SAY TO THE WIND, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

  • John 3:8 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

  • In the NIV, Zechariah 6:5 refers to the “four winds of the heavens” riding in chariots, possibly the four winds of heaven going North, East, West and South.

  • The “breath” of Yahuah and the “Spirit” of Yahuah are synonymous terms (Job 4:9; Ps. 33:6; Ps. 104:29 and 30; John 3:8; Job 27:3).

There are many ways the scriptures define the Spirit OF Elohim as impersonal:

  • It is referred to as a gift (Acts 10:45; 1 Timothy 4:14).

  • We are told that the Holy Spirit can be quenched (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

  • It can be poured out (Acts 2:17, 33).

  • It is shed (Acts 2:33).

  • We are baptized with it (Matthew 3:11).

  • People can drink of it (John 7:37-39).

  • People partake of it (Hebrews 6:4).

  • People are filled with it (Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18).

  • It renews us (Titus 3:5).

  • It must be stirred up within us (2 Timothy 1:6).

  • It is called “the Holy Spirit of promise.”

  • It is called ”the guarantee of our inheritance.”

  • It is called “the spirit of wisdom and revelation.” (Ephesians 1:13-14, 17).

  • It is a wind (Acts 2:2).

  • It is fire (verse 3).

  • It is water (John 4:14; 7:37-39).

  • It is oil (Psalm 45:7; also Acts 10:38; Matthew 25:1-10).

  • It is a dove (Matthew 3:16).

  • It is a down payment on eternal life (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13-14, KJV).

  • The “Spirit of Yahuah” is synonymous with the “hand” and “the finger” of Elohim (Ezek. 3:14; Job 26:13; Ps. 8:3; Luke 11:20).

Here are some interesting things to consider:

  • If Elohim were a Trinity, surely Paul would have taught this concept. Yet we find no such teaching in His writings.

  • Paul’s standard greeting in his letter to the churches and to individuals was, “Grace to you and peace from Yahuah our Father and the Adonai Yahusha Christ.” The same is true of Peter in the salutations of both his epistles.

  • In all of Paul’s writings, only in 2 Corinthians 13:14 is the Holy Spirit mentioned along with the Father and Christ, and there only in connection with the “fellowship of the Holy Spirit” in which believers share. Paul describes Elohim’s Spirit as the unifying agent that brings us together in godly, righteous fellowship with one another and with the Father and Son.

  • Notice that our fellowship is of the Holy Spirit, not with the Holy Spirit. Even 1 John 1:3 tells us, “Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Yahusha Christ.”

  • Paul states that “there is one Yahuah, the Father…and one Adonai Yahusha Christ” (1 Corinthians 8:6), making no mention of the Holy Spirit as a divine person.

  • Yahusha never spoke of the Holy Spirit as a divine third person, but instead, in numerous passages He spoke only of the relationship between Yahuah the Father and Himself (Matthew 26:39; Mark 13:32; 15:34; John 5:18, 22; etc.).

  • Yahusha doesn’t mention the Holy Spirit as a person in His teachings, instead are His many statements about Himself and the Father.

  • In visions of Yahuah’s throne the Father and Christ are seen, but the Holy Spirit is never seen (Acts 7:55-56; Daniel 7:9-14; Revelation 4-5; 7:10).

  • The final and last book of the Bible to be written does not mention the Holy Spirit as a divine person, but describes “a new heaven and new earth” (Revelation 21:1) wherein “the tabernacle of Yahuah is with men, and He will dwell with them”

Here are some other things to consider about the Holy Spirit OF Elohim:

  • Anchor Bible Dictionary describes the Holy Spirit as the “manifestation of divine presence and power perceptible especially in prophetic inspiration”

  • Repeatedly the Scriptures reveal that Elohim imparted divine inspiration to His prophets and servants THROUGH the Holy Spirit.

  • Paul wrote that Yahuah’s plan for humanity had been “revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets” (Ephesians 3:5) and that his own teachings were inspired by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:13).

  • Paul explains that it is through Yahuah’s Spirit that Yahuah has revealed to Christians the things He has prepared for those who love Him.

  • Working through the Spirit, Yahuah the Father is the revealer of truth to those who serve Him.

  • Yahusha told His followers that the Holy Spirit, which the Father would send, “will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you”

  • It is through Elohim’s Spirit within us that we gain spiritual insight and understanding and come to receive the very “mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16), also referred to as the “mind of the Spirit” (Romans 8:27).

  • Christ was prophesied to have “the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord” (Isaiah 11:2).

  • Christ portrayed in His personal conduct the divine attributes of Almighty God through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Timothy 3:16).

  • The Holy Spirit is not only the Spirit of Yahuah the Father, but it is the “Spirit of Christ” (Romans 8:9; Philippians 1:19). Remember that there is ONLY ONE Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:4).

  • The Father imparts the same Spirit to Christians through Christ (John 14:26; 15:26; Titus 3:5-6), leading and enabling them to be His children and “partakers of the divine nature” (Romans 8:14; 2 Peter 1:4).

  • Yahuah, Who has eternal life in Himself, gives that life to others through the Spirit (John 5:26; 6:63; Romans 8:11).

  • There is an account of the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of wisdom, the spirit of understanding, the spirit of counsel, the spirit of might, the spirit of knowledge and the spirit of the fear of Adonai.

  • By this Spirit Yahusha is still be present with those that love him (John): “I will come to you” (14:18); “I am in you” (14:20); and “I will show myself” (14:21).

  • Luke 21:15 tells us that Christ will give us “a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

  • If Christ has a spirit and the Father has a spirit and the Holy spirit is a spirit, then why is their ONLY ONE SPIRIT? (Ephesians 4:4)

  • By definition, the Spirit of Yahuah is derived from Yahuah, so what comes from Yahuah as its source cannot also be “Yahuah.”

  • In biblical usage, “the Holy Spirit” is a synonymous term for “Yahuah.” In Acts 5:3, Peter says Ananias lied to “the Holy Spirit,” but in verse 4 Peter says he lied to “Yahuah.” This is an example of the common Semitic parallelism of equivalent terms.

  • “The Holy Spirit” is equivalent to “the power of the Most High,” as Luke 1:35 (NIV) clearly indicates by another use of parallelism (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8;10:38; Romans 15:13; Romans 15:18 and 19; 1 Corinthians. 2:4 and 5).

  • Matthew 1:18 records that Mary “was found to be with child through ‘the Holy Spirit.’” Yet all through the New Testament are references to the fact that Yahuah is the Father of our Yahusha. How can “Yahuah” be “the Father” and “the Holy Spirit” also be “the father” of Yahusha?

  • By this Spirit Yahusha’s work with them would continue (John): “It will teach you”(14:26); “It will remind you of everything I have said” (14:26); “It will testify about me” (15:26); “It will convict the world of guilt” (in preparation for His judgment—16:8); “It will guide you into all truth” (16:13); “It will bring glory to me by taking what is mine and making it known to you” (16:14).

  • The “Holy Spirit” is used synonymously and interchangeably with “the Spirit of Yahusha” (Acts 16:7; Phil. 1:19); “the Spirit of the Lord” (Luke 4:18, etc.); “the spirit of his son” (Gal. 4:6); “the Spirit of Yahusha Christ” (Phil. 1:19). In this usage, “the Spirit” is the mind and power of Yahusha Christ.

  • In Acts 16:6 (NIV), “the Holy Spirit” kept Paul and his companions from preaching in Asia, but in Verse 7 (NIV) it says that the “Spirit of Yahusha” would not allow them to enter Bithynia.

  • 2 Corinthians 3:17 and 18 says that Adonai (Yahusha) is “the Spirit.” He has been invested with all spiritual authority and power to effectively carry out His responsibility as the Head of His body. By His “Spirit” He is able to guide and direct His many servants (2 Cor. 12:8 and 9).

  • Galatians 5:22 and 23 list the “fruit of the Spirit” (the nature of Yahusha); John 15:5 says, “If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit.”

  • The “Spirit of your Father” is synonymous with “the Holy Spirit,” and is said to speak in our stead when we might be brought before men for possible persecution or trial (Matt.10:19 and 20; Mark 13:11; Luke 12:11 and 12).

  • The Holy Spirit is the very nature, presence and expression of Elohim’s power actively working in His servants (2 Peter 1:4; Galatians 2:20).

  • Peter explains that “Yahuah anointed Yahusha of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power” (Acts 10:38).

  • Christ performed many miracles and worked through the apostle Paul “in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of Yahuah” (Romans 15:19).

  • Yahusha began His ministry “in the power of the Spirit” (Luke 4:14).

  • Yahusha told His followers, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8).

  • Scriptures refer to the Holy Spirit as Elohim’s divine power (Zechariah 4:6; Micah 3:8).

  • Another example of the Spirit of Christ: “for Yahuah hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts crying, Abba, Father.” (Galatians 4:6)

  • Yet another example of the Spirit of Christ: ”If any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His.” (Rom. 8:9)

  • We are told that the “the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets” (1 Corinthians 14:32).

  • We are sanctified by the Spirit (2 Thess. 2:13); we are sanctified in Christ Yahusha (1 Cor. 1:2), whom Yahuah made to be sanctification for us (1 Cor. 1:30).

  •  We are strengthened by the Spirit in the inner man (Eph. 3:16); Christ dwells in our hearts (Eph. 3:17).

  • We have access to the Father by the Spirit (Eph. 2:18); in Christ and through faith in Him we have access with confidence to Yahuah (Eph. 3:12).

  • The Spirit apportions to each one individually as it chooses (1 Cor. 12:11); Yahusha pours out the Spirit (Acts 2:33) and gave some apostles, some prophets, etc. (Eph. 4:11).

  • The Spirit intercedes for us (Rom. 8:26); Christ Yahusha intercedes for us (Rom. 8:34).

  • The only verse that would indicate that there might be three persons sharing one name is Matthew 28:19: “…baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” But this verse is quoted in a different form by the early Church Fathers, notably Eusebius, who quotes the verse at least 18 times as follows: “baptizing them in My name.”

  • Both the Father and Son are shown to send the Comforter: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, it shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” (John 16:7) “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” (Ephesians 4:8, Acts 2:33)

  • The Comforter points to and glorifies Christ.

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” (John 15:26) “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of Yahuah calleth Yahusha accursed: and that no man can say that Yahusha is Adonai, but by the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:3)

  • We are told the Spirit is FROM Yahuah: “And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of Yahuah. (John 1:32-34)

  • Elohim is said to be omnipresent by His “Spirit” (Job 31:4, Proverbs 5:20,21).

  • We are told that “No man hath seen Elohim at any time. If we love one another, Elohim dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. (1 John 4:12-14)

  • We are told that Elohim is the Spirit: “Now Adonai is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of Adonai is, there is liberty.” (2 Cor 3:17).

  • Yahuah uses angels to speak as if they were Yahuah Himself, and even to use His personal name, Yahuah. (Judges 13:21-22, Genesis 32:24-30, Hosea 12:3-5, Exodus 3: 2-4,6 and 16, Judges 6:12,13 and 22)

  • The Hebrew usage of “the spirit of Elohim” never refers to a person separate from, but a part of, Yahuah Almighty. Neither does the phrase, “the spirits of Elohim” occur, which would refer to separate spiritual entities within a multipersonal Elohim.

  • The scriptures never tell us to pray to, lift up, praise, honor, sing to, speak to, glorify or otherwise venerate as deity the Spirit OF Elohim.

  • Elohim is referred to as a Spirit (John 4:24).

  • While much is said by Christ concerning His love for His Father, no such reference is made to the Spirit.

  • While scriptures mention the love the Father and Son has for Christians, no mention is made of the love of the Spirit for them.

  • It should be noted that pneuma hagion often refers to the gift of Elohim, the divine nature born inside us. This divine nature is a “thing,” not a person. Thus it should be referred to with pronouns such as “it,” “that,” or “which,” and not “who,” or “whom.”

6 dead, 37 injured in attack on Mexican nightclub

GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP) — Armed men opened fire and hurled a grenade into a crowded nightclub early Saturday, killing six people and wounding at least 37 in a western city whose former tranquility has been shattered by escalating battles among drug cartels.

The attack in Mexico's second-largest municipality took place just hours after a shootout between soldiers and presumed cartel gunmen left eight people, including an innocent driver, dead in the northeastern city of Monterrey. Monterrey is Mexico's third-largest city.

In the Guadalajara attack, assailants in a Jeep Cherokee and a taxi drove up to the Butter Club, located in a bar and restaurant district popular with young people, and sprayed it with bullets.

Some of the men then got out of the taxi and threw a grenade into the nightclub entrance, said a police official, who spoke to news media at the scene and left without giving his name. The gunmen fled after the pre-dawn attack, he said.

Three were killed at the scene and three more died later in hospitals, said Medical Services Director Yannick Nordin. A Venezuelan and a Colombian were among the dead.

In a press conference led by state Attorney General Tomas Coronado Olmos, authorities said the attack may have been the result of a fight between two groups hours earlier in the trendy disco. Some of the people left and returned to attack the others.

State authorities said they are studying surveillance video from inside the nightclub to help determine what happened.

While there have been isolated grenade attacks around the city, Saturday's was the first to be thrown into a crowd and cause so many injuries.

The U.S. Consulate in Guadalajara recently warned U.S. citizens not to drive at night in parts of the city after suspected drug-gang members burned vehicles and blocked streets.

Such alerts have become common for highways in some areas of northern and western Mexico, but not for Guadalajara, which is known more for its mariachi music and tequila than as a focal point of a drug war that has claimed nearly 35,000 lives since 2006.

But in recent months the picturesque colonial city has come to resemble embattled areas of northern Mexico — including the state of Nuevo Leon, where Monterrey is located.

Seven presumed cartel gunmen were shot dead by soldiers near Monterrey during a chase and shootout just after midnight Friday. A civilian was also killed when the gunmen crashed into his car as they tried to flee soldiers.

A soldier and a state police officer were wounded during the clash in the suburban city of San Nicolas, the military said in a news release.

Soldiers also freed a woman who is presumed to have been kidnapped and was traveling in one of the vehicles. Two other vehicles, carrying an unknown number of attackers, escaped, and there were no arrests, said a spokesman for the state public security office, who was not authorized to give his name.

Nuevo Leon has been hit by a wave of drug-fueled violence in recent years as the Gulf Cartel battles a gang of its former enforcers known as the Zetas.

The cartels have staged a bloody turf war over drug peddling points and smuggling routes to the U.S. border 125 miles (200 kilometers) to the north, and clashes with the military and police have become almost a daily occurrence in and around Monterrey.

In Guadalajara, the violence has heated up just in the past few months from cartels warring for turf. The city is key to western drug routes once controlled by former Sinaloa leader Ignacio "Nacho" Coronel, who was killed in a gunbattle with soldiers in July.

Grand jury report: Archdiocese's policies on sex abuse by priests feeble and ineffective

By John P. Martin, Inquirer Staff Writer

Midway through the opening page of the latest grand jury report on sexual abuse by Philadelphia priests are four words as damning as any in the 124-page document:

"Much has not changed."

Five years after a previous grand jury vilified archdiocesan leaders for tolerating and protecting abusive priests, the report unsealed Thursday went a step further.

It portrayed changes implemented by the archdiocese since the scandal first unfolded as feeble, ineffective, or even deceptive.

Victims were "virtually hounded" by assistance coordinators, while accused priests weren't confronted, the panel concluded.

The review board designated to hear abuse allegations routinely ignored evidence substantiating those claims, the grand jurors contended. And at least 41 priests were left in active posts around the region after being accused of inappropriate behavior or abuse of minors.

"The evidence presented before us indicates that the Archdiocese continues to engage in practices that mislead victims, that violate their trust, that hinders prosecution of their abusers, and that leave large numbers of credibly accused priests in ministry," the report stated.

In a statement, Cardinal Justin Rigali said he could not address specific allegations until officials reviewed the report. He did, however, assert that "there are no archdiocesan priests in ministry today who have an admitted or established allegation of sexual abuse of a minor against them."

Like its 2005 predecessor, the latest report detailed in graphic terms instances of alleged abuse by priests. One case involved a 10-year-old victim who was allegedly "passed around" among two priests and a teacher at St. Jerome's Parish in Northeast Philadelphia in 1998 and 1999.

The report lauded church officials for agreeing to notify law enforcement when it receives a substantiated accusation. It noted that the archdiocese established a review board with civilians to consider abuse allegations and hired victim-assistance coordinators.

But within that structure, the grand jury found flaws that raised questions as to whether some changes were being used to protect victims - or the church itself.

The allegations involving the priests and teacher at St. Jerome's came to light in 2009, the report said. The accuser, identified in the document only as "Billy," said he reported the abuse in a phone call to an archdiocesan victim-assistance coordinator.

Instead of taking the basic information and passing it to authorities, victim assistance coordinator Louise Hagner went to Billy's house and pressed him for more details, the report said. She also notified diocesan lawyers that Billy had hired an attorney.

In another case, in 2006, Hagner allegedly insisted on interviewing a victim while he was hospitalized for a suicide attempt, then persuaded him to sign releases so the archdiocese could obtain his medical records.

According to the grand jury, that detailed information was shared with other church officials and church lawyers.

"As a strategy to uncover the truth, this contradictory policy of insisting on detailed statements from victims, while at the same time refusing to take any statements from accused priests, makes no sense," the grand jury concluded. "It is only rational as a strategy for avoiding civil and criminal liability."

A call for comment left at Hagner's home late Thursday was not returned.

The report also cast doubt on the integrity of the review board, an eight-member body of clerics and lay professionals that vets allegations.

"The Review Board finds allegations 'unsubstantiated' even when there is very convincing evidence that the accusations are true," the grand jury concluded.

In one 2007 case, it said, a 36-year-old man claimed to have been repeatedly molested decades earlier by the Rev. Joseph Gallagher, a priest at St. Mark's Parish in Bristol.

The accuser, identified only as a former altar boy named Ben, recounted vivid details of the abuse, including encounters that he said occurred in the sacristy, the rectory, the priest's car, and the priest's mother's house, the report said.

The allegation was the second in about a year involving Gallagher, the grand jury said. Other altar boys from the parish confirmed that the priest routinely asked them about masturbation during confession, and one said the priest had "improper relationships" with students but didn't elaborate, the report said.

Confronted with the accusations, Gallagher first denied them, then became "more evasive," the report said. He has since retired.

Ben later committed suicide, according to the report.

Another priest, the Rev. Stephen Perzan, was allowed to keep his ministry after allegations of abuse in 2005 and 2006 by two former residents at St. Gabriel's Hall, a delinquent home where Perzan worked in the 1990s.

Perzan flunked a lie-detector exam when asked about the allegations, the report said.

The Review Board found the allegations to be unsubstantiated. Perzan is now a parochial vicar for St. Helena Parish in Philadelphia.

Attempts to reach Perzan and Gallagher through the archdiocese were unsuccessful.

A 10,000 FOOT TSUNAMI?

RUN, RUN, RUN!

Do you know, that recent tsunami in the news – dreadful as

we knew it to be  - was a baby!

What do you make of this?

It knocked me over.

Manuel (a real friend) showed me the other day some

pictures of enormous boulders that were brought from far

away. Some great force must have lifted them up and

carried them.

And, would you believe, they are sitting ALL OVER the

world!

In North America, for example, the Madison boulder near

Conway, New Hampshire, measures 90 by 40 by 38 feet, and

weighs almost 10,000 tons, about as much as the weight of

130,000 people!

Unlike the bedrock beneath, it is composed of granite.

Thus the boulder is called “erratic.”

In Britain and Germany are found many such boulders brought

across the sea from Norway.

Boulders from Finland have been swept over Poland, the site

of Moscow, and as far as the River Don.  Often they are

frighteningly piled up.

Huge blocks from Canada and Labrador lie strewn over North

America
.  Some are plain GIGANTIC.

An erratic boulder in Warren County, Ohio, covers ¾ acre

and weighs 13,500 tons (the load of a large cargo ship).

And near Malmo, southern Sweden, is a mass of chalk stone

1,000 feet wide, up to 200 feet thick and THREE MILES LONG!

CARRIED BY ICE?

Manuel asked me, Could these boulders have been carried by

ice?

Definitely not!

But why not?

Some are found high up on mountains. But observations in

the Alps have shown that glaciers carry stones downhill,

not uphill.

Also, erratic bounders are found in places where

continental ice could hardly have deposited them… on the

Azores, islands separated from the ice cover by a wide

expanse of ocean.

COULD WATER DO IT?

Now you're talking.

Take, for example, the Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea. Here

they are found near the summit, where ONLY WATERS could have

lifted them.

In Europe, huge rocks (one of them 10,000 cubic feet) were

carried from the Alps, across a space now occupied by Lake

Geneva
, and hurled 2,000 feet up on to the Jura Mountains,

where they still sit!

Broken off from the parent rock, many were carried over

valleys and hills, over land and sea.

You probably know that the faster water moves, the more it

can erode, the more it can lift.

If water increases in velocity by 4 times, it can transport

not 4 but 54 times as much matter. If it accelerates 100

times, it will carry 50 million times as much material.

THE SPEED OF TSUNAMIS

In 1960, Chilean earthquakes sent tidal waves travelling at

jet speeds of 525 miles an hour (840 kilometres per hour).

Just imagine the POWER in that!

THE HEIGHT OF TSUNAMIS

On July 9, 1958, a wave washed 1,740 feet high along the

fjord-like Lituya Bay, Alaska.

Calculations have been made. If a passing heavenly body

came close earth, this could produce a tide perhaps 10,000

feet high, flowing over the continents once a day at about

1,000 miles per hour at the equator.

Which brings to mind that legendary Great Flood, so often

spoken about by our ancestors.

WHAT ABOUT THE GREAT FLOOD?

Even in today’s relatively small floods, we see bridges,

houses, trees and immense boulders ripped up and swept

along like mere pebbles and matchsticks.  Such floods

seldom rise higher than a few dozen feet.  Their main

force is exhausted in days or hours.

But when we begin to speak in terms of a Flood that

“prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days” and

covered “all the high mountains which are under all the

heavens”, we must face the fact that we are no longer

dealing with phenomena that are familiar to modern science.

In such a Flood we must therefore expect damage that

staggers the imagination.

I put this to you... The Great Flood can explain many

otherwise puzzling geological features of today’s earth.

That this event occurred just a few thousand years ago

can be established by the extent to which the rocks under

the erratic boulders are denuded.

You won’t find a great deal written about this today. It

is dangerous information… An embarrassment to  established

"scientific" theory.

Because, firstly, this event was GLOBAL.

And secondly, it was “RECENT” – more recent than any

traditional dating system allows for.

But if

you'd like to plunge into hundreds of other secrets

about this MEGA EVENT, here's where to go:

California wants lesbians as mandatory 'role' models

Family advocates call plan 'worst school sexual indoctrination ever'

By Bob Unruh

© 2011 WorldNetDaily

California state lawmaker Mark Leno

Lawmakers in the state of California are proposing a law that would require schools to portray lesbians, homosexuals, transsexuals and those who have chosen other alternative sexual lifestyles as positive role models to children in all public schools there.

"SB 48: The worst school sexual indoctrination ever" is how officials with the Campaign for Children and Families describe the proposal, SB 48, sponsored by state Sen. Mark Leno.

Openly homosexual, Leno boasts on his website of founding a business with his "life partner, Douglas Jackson," who later died of AIDS complications.

That description as "worst" is considerable, considering the Campaign for Children and Families was a key player in the battle in the state in 2007 and 2008 over a variety of laws that now forbid any "adverse" portrayal of those alternative sexual choices in school, class, curriculum and by teachers.

On its website, the organization explains the plan by "homosexual activist" Leno "would require all students in social studies class to admire 'lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender' role models.

"The Democrat state legislators pushing this radical bill want to recruit boys and girls to support the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda, personally and publicly," the organization's Action Alert explains.

"They want them to become 'LGBTIQ' activists [and] help trample religious freedom, free speech, parental rights, business-owner rights, private property rights, the Boy Scouts, and everything else you hold dear."

Equality California, an organization that advocates for homosexuality, said others sponsoring the plan include Sen. Christine Kehoe, D-San Diego; Assembly member Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco; Assembly member Toni Atkins, D-San Diego; Assembly member Rich Gordon, D-San Mateo; and Assembly member Ricardo Lara, D-East Los Angeles.

On his state website, Leno expressed his worry: "Most textbooks don't include any historical information about the LGBT movement, which has great significance to both California and U.S. history.

"Our collective silence on this issue perpetuates negative stereotypes of LGBT people and leads to increased bullying of young people. We can't simultaneously tell youth that it's OK to be yourself and live an honest, open life when we aren't even teaching students about historical LGBT figures or the LGBT equal rights movement," he said.

He said it is confirmed that where schools promote homosexual lifestyles, those who exhibit that lifestyle "are treated more fairly by their teachers and peers."

But the Campaign for Children and Families, which teaches people to stand up for "what's right in God's sight" and encourages them to challenge "liberal forces" and "impact the next generation," is promoting a campaign to have state residents contact state officials with their own concerns

The message warns that if the plan becomes law, "children as young as kindergarten will be taught to admire homosexuality, same-sex 'marriages,' bisexuality, and transsexuality.'"

"Children will be enticed into political activism in support of everything pushed by 'lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and questioning' political groups, as the bill requires 'particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society.'"

Further, it would require that "teachers will be made to positively portray homosexuality, same-sex 'marriages,' bisexuality, and transsexuality … because to be silent opens them up to the charge of 'reflecting adversely.'"

"This is radical, in-your-face sexual indoctrination that parents genuinely don't want and children certainly don't need," the statement says.

The California Legislative Counsel's commentary on the plan affirms it would "require instruction in social sciences to also include a study of the role and contributions of Native Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, European Americans, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans … to the development of California and the United States."

It also would require "alternative and charter schools" to "take notice of the provisions of this bill."

The law itself requires that schools teach "particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society."

The Campaign for Children and Families, run by executive Randy Thomasson, notes that it would demand that school boards select textbooks and other materials that actively promote homosexuality, because to be silent "opens them up to charges of 'reflecting adversely.'"

It also notes parents would not be able to exempt their children from the mandatory teaching.

Thomasson told WND that this is the next progression following a multitude of earlier laws adopted in California that serve the dual purpose of cracking down on traditional families and promoting the "alternatives."

"The California public schools are no longer safe places for boys and girls morally," he told WND. "This new bill, SB 48, reflects the desire of the Democrat state legislators to recruit boys and girls to support the homosexual-bisexual-transsexual agenda both personally and publicly."

Under the law, he said, "textbooks, teachers and school boards will be forced to promote homosexuality, same-sex 'marriage,' bisexuality, transsexuality, sex change operations, cross dressing as positive role models."

"Pushing this slop bucket in the face of impressionable kids is disgusting to most people," he said.

It was just two years ago when the Campaign launched the Rescue Your Child effort to encourage parents to withdraw their children from public schools because of such indoctrination.

That followed work by the legislature and then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to establish Senate Bill 777 and Assembly Bill 392 as law. Those institutionalized the promotion of homosexuality, bisexuality, transgenderism and other alternative lifestyle choices by banning any "adverse" references in schools.

Homosexual former San Francisco leader Harvey Milk

At the time, officials said SB 777 "functionally requires public school instructional materials and school-sponsored activities to positively portray cross-dressing, sex-change operations, homosexual 'marriages,' and all aspects of homosexuality and bisexuality, including so-called 'gay history.'"

The second bill, AB 394, "requires public schools to distribute controversial material to teachers, students, and parents which promotes transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality, all under the guise of 'anti-harassment' training."

Those laws ban in any school texts, events, class or activities any discriminatory bias against those who have chosen alternative sexual lifestyles, according to Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute.

But there are no similar protections for students with traditional or conservative lifestyles and beliefs. Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits.

SaveCalifornia.com led a statewide battle against "Harvey Milk Day" before California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the S.B. 572.

The bill designates May 22 – Milk's birthday – a date of "special significance" and encourages all California public schools to "conduct suitable commemorative exercises … remembering the life of Harvey Milk and recognizing his accomplishments as well as the contributions he made to this state."

Scores of bodies unearthed at Iraq grave site

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi authorities have unearthed more than 150 bodies in an area northeast of Baghdad that saw some of the worst fighting in the war, police and local officials said Saturday.

A military source and a local tribal leader said the bodies were al-Qaeda fighters buried in individual graves near Baquba, the capital of Diyala province, while a local police official said they belonged to victims of the Islamist militant group.

"One hundred and fifty three individual graves were unearthed yesterday and today in a remote area outside Baquba," a military source in Diyala told Reuters on condition of anonymity. "They were buried according to the regular way of Islam. All were wrapped with a white shroud."

Ethnically and religiously mixed Diyala was one of the most volatile provinces in Iraq during the peak of sectarian fighting in 2006-07, when tens of thousands of people were killed.

The graves were found in a village called Khaz'alla, south of Buhriz, about 60 km (35 miles) northeast of Baghdad, the military source said. The area was largely under control of al-Qaeda in 2005-07, until Iraqi and U.S. forces launched an offensive to push the fighters out in 2007.

Lieutenant Colonel Ghalib al-Jubouri, a Diyala police spokesman, said the bodies were victims of al Qaeda, although they were "decomposed and cannot be identified."

A tribal leader in Khaz'alla said the site was well-known as "the cemetery of mujahideen," a reference to the al Qaeda fighters who battled U.S. and Iraqi forces.

"We know this place ... al-Qaeda used to bury its fighters in this cemetery in 2005, 2006 and 2007," he said.

NOTE: Although the publisher of this site has been a life member of the sponsoring organization since the year of this nations’s Bi-Centennial, I no longer condone the NRA. They have sold out America far too many times. The cost is too high, for the benefits received. They do NOT speak for me, but… I strongly urge you to watch this video. If you want to understand what Arizona, Texas and New Mexico, and California are dealing with – then it’s imperative that you watch the video, again and again – then pass it along. (Ed.)

This video on our border issues is 100% correct and true. I live 45 miles from the border. We see many Border patrol agents every day. They are catching groups of criminal illegal aliens here every single day and night. They caught 7 on our property last Sunday!

The problem hardly makes national news.

Last year 11 volunteers in 2 hours collected 740 pounds of trash left behind by drug smugglers, it filled a large trailer and was mostly burlap drug load wrappers.

Mexico has some of the toughest gun laws in the world, even possession of a single bullet is jail time or worse. Yet they are hopelessly out gunned by the cartels. Mexico is a failed Narco state and it has been over flowing into the United States.

The video is sponsored by the NRA, member or not, firearm owner or not, join or not…Please watch this and pass it onto everyone you know.

We are far along the path of loosing this country and the cartels know it. They have teamed up with middle eastern terrorists to move drugs and people.

Don’t come crying to me when we loose this country…my answer will simply be, I told you so…

Police frustrated after man dies near Adventist emergency room

By Kerry Tomlinson KATU News and KATU.com Staff

Police frustrated after man dies near emergency room
Inset: Birgilio Marin-Fuentes.
PORTLAND, Ore. - A 61-year-old man died after driving himself to a hospital early Thursday morning and police said they were frustrated that the hospital’s policy delayed the man getting treatment.

But the hospital said the police are confused about its policy.

Birgilio Marin-Fuentes was not feeling well and drove himself to Portland Adventist Medical Center in Southeast Portland just after midnight. He crashed his car into a light pole in the hospital’s parking lot about 100 feet from the emergency room.

Someone saw Marin-Fuentes unconscious and got a hold of police who were already at the hospital for an unrelated reason.

Police said they did CPR and one of them ran to the emergency room to get more help. Lt. Kelli Sheffer, with the Portland Police Bureau, said the officers were under the impression the ER refused to help, saying they needed to call an ambulance because of a hospital policy that prohibited them from treating people unless the patients are inside the ER doors.

“You know, there’s a good reason for it, I’m sure,” said Sheffer. “Does it help in the heat of the moment when there’s high emotion and high frustration? No, it’s difficult.”

However, Dr. Kelli Westcott with Portland Adventist said they don’t have a policy barring them from treating someone on the grounds.

“It is very unfortunate that was the perception that the police officer had,” she said. “But it’s certainly is not the reality and has never been the reality. We have a system in place to respond all over campus.”

According to the hospital, the officers may have been confused because the emergency room staff called for an ambulance since the problem was reported to them as a car crash. An ambulance would have the stabilization tools and a rescue truck would have the tools to get someone out of the car if necessary.

The medical examiner said Marin-Fuentes died of heart disease.

U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Oregon, said he’s troubled by what happened and issued a statement saying, “If these reports are true, it is not just heartbreaking, but incomprehensible that a hospital fully capable of treating this medical emergency left police officers with no medical equipment to tend to a patient. I am calling for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services to conduct an independent investigation of this matter to ensure that federal laws are enforced and Oregonians are protected.”

According to Seth Chandler, a health law expert with the University of Houston, the federal Emergency Treatment and Active Fair Labor Act says that a hospital must treat patients without questions about whether they can pay. The law now says that if a person is within 250 yards of a hospital, and the people inside know there’s a patient out there, they have to come out to treat the person.

It can be a disincentive to have the hospital’s doctors or nurses running out to the parking lot to help someone who they’re not sure has insurance or the ability to pay. If the patient isn’t insured, the hospital could be on the hook for the cost of care and any liability issues.

Family Demands Answers

Marin-Fuentes’ family doesn’t understand why he didn’t get the help they say could have saved his life.

Claudia Luis-Garcia met Marin-Fuentes 10 years ago at a job detailing cars. They’ve been together ever since. Her brother said Marin-Fuentes was a good father-figure.

His last words were to tell Luis-Garcia to stay with the children while he went to the hospital because he was coughing a lot. He said he would be back later.

Luis-Garcia said she still doesn’t understand why a man who helped everyone couldn’t get the help he needed.

Ore. man dies after staff at Adventist hospital tells police call 911

By WILLIAM MCCALL Associated Press

Ore. man dies after hospital tells police call 911
Inset: Birgilio Marin-Fuentes.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The death of an Oregon man just feet from an emergency room has left his family in grief, upset police and drawn a request for an investigation from a congressman, all asking why an officer was told to call 911 for a heart attack victim just outside the hospital door.

Birgilio Marin-Fuentes had driven to Portland Adventist Medical Center shortly after midnight Wednesday, unable to sleep or stop coughing, then crashed his car into a pillar and wall inside the first level of the hospital parking garage under an "emergency parking only" sign about 125 feet from the emergency room entrance.

By the time somebody noticed the 61-year-old Cuban immigrant in his car and told a police officer in the emergency room, about 20 minutes had gone by.

Officers Angela Luty and Robert Quick found Marin-Fuentes unconscious and unresponsive and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. A third officer, Andrew Hearst, went to the ER intake desk and told them what was happening.

He was told to call 911.

"The officers recognized this man needed medical attention immediately, and two officers began CPR immediately, and a third officer went to ask for assistance, and they were told they had to wait until an ambulance arrived," said Sgt. Pete Simpson, a Portland Police Bureau spokesman.

Judy Leach, a hospital spokeswoman, said emergency room staff was told it was a car crash and they were following the proper protocol by instructing police to summon an ambulance crew.

"With an automobile accident you don't know if the patient needs to be extricated or transported," Leach said Friday. "There are protocols in place to ensure the right thing is done for the right patient at the right time."

She said hospital security officers equipped with a mobile defibrillator were dispatched, and a paramedic went outside to check on the situation.

But Simpson said officers did not receive any medical assistance and were left to fend for themselves until the ambulance arrived and the crew wheeled Marin-Fuentes the short distance to the emergency room aboard a gurney.

"It's a traumatic experience to give CPR and have a person not survive, especially to be that close to a hospital with trained medical personnel right there who could have assisted," Simpson said.

U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer said Friday he has asked the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services to conduct an independent investigation to make sure the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act approved in 1986 was followed.

The act requires all Medicare participating hospitals with emergency departments to treat any critically ill patients on their premises, including parking lots, Blumenauer said.

Blumenauer said he was "deeply concerned" about the way the incident was handled and has been in contact with both national and state hospital associations "to make sure everybody gets their signals straight."

Mark McDougal, a Portland attorney representing the family of Marin-Fuentes, said the family was pleased that Blumenauer has asked for a federal investigation.

"It is particularly disturbing that the hospital has given an account which is directly contradicted by the officers at the scene," McDougal said.

Efforts by The Associated Press to reach the victim's wife, Claudia Luis Garcia, on Friday were unsuccessful.

But she told The Oregonian she believes if she had insisted on driving with her husband to the hospital, he might still be alive.

"They left him to die," Luis Garcia said.

Adventists, Abortion, and Trademarks?

by SR-admin

A recent article in the Washington Post has brought into the open the hypocritical stand of the Seventh-day Adventist church in remaining silent against the practice of abortion while its large worldwide network of 170 hospitals and clinics allows elective abortions. What is singularly tragic in this strange paradox is the efforts of the church leadership, most notably the pastor/evangelist Kevin Paulsen, to defend this heinous practice. Predictably, as sincere Adventists are awaking to this shocking reality that has been going on behind the scenes since the 1970’s, individuals and independent ministries are rising to protest Paulsen and the church stand on this issue.

An underlying development in this controversy which is not being widely publicized has to do with the corporate Seventh-day Adventist church’s use of its trademarked names (Seventh-day Adventist, Adventist, etc.) to silence voices of dissent. In particular, the Washington Post article published on January 24, 2011, the 38th anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion in the United States, had a number of links that mysteriously went dead shortly after the article was published. These links were to some historical research by George B. Gainer demonstrating the shifting stand of the church leadership over the issue of abortion practices in its hospitals and a vigorous discussion amongst concerned Adventist believers on a Facebook page named “Adventists for Life”. The most alarming aspect to this story posted on the blogs Big Blue Wave and Lets Focus on Life revealed that the Seventh-day Adventist church leadership went to Facebook and had them shut down the Adventists for Life discussion page claiming it was an unauthorized use of the SDA brand name and a “copyright infringement”! According to the Blue Wave blog owner . . .

Mark Price, a Canadian SDA’er who was in charge of the page, alerted the 600 members of the group that he’d been silenced. “The Adventists For Life group is not an organization but an informal gathering of Seventh Day Adventists who are pro-life,” he wrote me. “I am very concerned, as you are, about this kind of power that the Adventist leadership have to shut people up.”

All Seventh-day Adventists should be deeply concerned about these developments and should raise questions about this hypocrisy for the church leadership to use its trademarked name to silence the voice of dissent from among its very own members while claiming to be champions of religious liberty for the rest of the world.  If this trend goes unchecked then who will be able to call sin by its right name without being muzzled like an ox? A strange inconsistency indeed.

Here is a link to a historical review on where the pioneers of the Seventh-day Adventist church stood on abortion.

A Jesuit-run college in southern India honored Dalai Lama inviting the Tibetan spiritual leader to its prestigious annual program.

“We invited him to show our solidarity with him and the Tibetan struggle,” Father Ambrose Pinto, principal of St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, told ucanews.com yesterday.

The Tibetan spiritual leader was the guest speaker at the Josephite Summit, a meeting of past and present students, their parents and the college’s well wishers.

Some 3,000 people attended this year’s summit on Jan. 30.

Father Pinto described Dalai Lama as the mahatma (great soul) of the world. “By inviting him we wanted to affirm the diversity of the world we live in, and send a message that Buddhism was a great religion and we have great respect for it,” Father Pinto added.

The Dalai Lama praised Christian contributions to India’s education sector. The 76-year old Buddhist monk said the Tibetan struggle is not for separation from China but to preserve “our way of life and culture.”

According to the Dalai Lama, conversion through monetary and other inducements is harmful and against religious principles.

Conversion without the full awareness and knowledge of a religion by a person is unfair, he added. He said some Buddhists in Mongolia have joined Christianity lured by money.

The Nobel Peace laureate also disapproved of Hindu extremists attacking churches on the pretext of checking alleged conversions. Such incidents are against the tolerant nature of Hinduism, which he said is the most inclusive religion in the world.

The Tibetan spiritual leader termed India as a model of ahimsa (non-violence) and religious harmony. He said everyone knows the sporadic incidents of communal disharmony in India are caused by “mischievous elements.”

Some 100 Tibetan students study in the college, which was founded 128 years ago. It imparts graduate, post-graduation and research education to more than 5,000 students.
