Pope says abuse scandals 'devastating'

UPI POY 2009 - News and Features.

VATICAN CITY, Italy, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Pope Benedict XVI says the ongoing sexual abuse scandal in the Roman Catholic Church had reached an unimaginable dimension, and the Church must take action.

In a Christmas message, the pope said the church must reflect on its failures, help the victims, and prevent potential pedophiles from becoming priests, The New York Times reported Monday.

"We must ask ourselves what we can do to repair as much as possible the injustice that transpired," the pope's message said. "We must ask ourselves what went wrong in our message, in our entire way of being Christians, so that such a thing could have occurred."

He and the Catholic Church were "devastated" by the extent of child abuse by priests, the pope said, and expressed his gratitude to those priests who helped the victims of the abuse, the ANSA news agency reported.

The Vatican has said it is developing guidelines for bishops around the world on how to handle abuse cases, including reporting incidents of abuse to civil authorities in countries where it is required.

"We are aware of the particular gravity of this sin committed by priests and our corresponding responsibility," the pope said.

Proposal would let states repeal fed laws

Proposal would let states repeal fed laws

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- The people behind lawsuits seeking to undo the healthcare law say they're also backing an amendment that would allow states to repeal federal law.

Under the proposed "repeal amendment," any federal law or regulation could be repealed if two-thirds of state legislatures vote to do so, The New York Times reported.

First backed by Virginia lawmakers and Tea Party groups, the repeal amendment now has the support of legislative leaders in 12 states -- and incoming House majority leader, Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va. It was introduced earlier this month by Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah.

"Washington has grown far too large and has become far too intrusive, reaching into nearly every aspect of our lives," Cantor said. "The repeal amendment would provide a check on the ever-expanding federal government ... and get the government working for the people again, not the other way around."

Randy Barnett, a Georgetown University law professor who helped draft the amendment, told the Times it could win ratification -- which includes passage by Congress plus 38 state legislatures.

"This is something state legislatures have an interest in pursuing," Barnett said, "because it helps them fend off federal encroachment and gives them a seat at the table when Congress is proposing what to do."

He said he was contacted by Tea Party groups in Virginia. Then Virginia's governor, attorney general and speaker of the House, all Republicans, expressed support.

Sanford Levinson, a constitutional law professor at the University of Texas, said the proposal would give the same weight to small states as large ones, allowing those with a relatively small proportion of the national population to have influence.

"You can bet the ranch that there are enough state legislators in the large states who will not consider it a good idea to reinforce the power of small parochial rural states in which most Americans do not live," Levinson said.

Hundreds arrested in election protests

Hundreds arrested in election protests

MINSK, Belarus, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Police in Belarus arrested hundreds of demonstrators, including presidential candidates, who protested presidential election results, observers said Monday.

Witnesses said dozens of protesters were injured in clashes after being beaten with batons

Seven presidential candidates were arrested as they protested the results of Sunday's elections in which incumbent Alexander Lukashenko was declared the winner, the BBC reported.

Official results announced Monday gave Lukashenko 79.7 percent of the vote.

Several hundred people were detained when police broke up a demonstration involving at least 10,000 anti-Lukashenko protesters in Minsk, police spokesman Konstantin Shalkevich said. Demonstrators tried to storm a government building but were turned back by riot police.

Reports indicate seven of the nine presidential candidates were among those arrested, the BBC said. Witnesses said opposition candidate Vladimir Neklyaev was removed from a hospital where he was being treated after having been beaten by police.

The United States condemned methods the Belarusian government employed to "undermine the democratic process and use disproportionate force against political activists, civil society representatives and journalists, and we call for the immediate release of all presidential candidates and the hundreds of protesters who were detained" Sunday and Monday, the White House said in a statement.

The United States can't accept the announced results of the presidential election "as legitimate," the statement said.

"We are also concerned by indications that independent Internet media have been disrupted and call on the government of Belarus to take measures to protect its citizens' right to free media," the White House said.

Recalling the U.S.-Belarus Joint Statement from Dec. 1, the White House said further development of relations is contingent on Belarus's respect for human rights and the democratic process.

"The actions taken over the last 24 hours, however, are a clear step backwards on issues central to our relationship with Belarus," the statement said.

Amnesty International denounced the use of force.

"The events of the last 24 hours obliterate the fragile signs of openness in the runup to the presidential election," said Heather McGill, the group's expert on Belarus. "The Belarusian authorities must investigate all allegations of disproportionate use of force."

2 children found dead in Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A man was in custody Monday, the day after two children who were under government supervision were found dead in an Edmonton, Alberta, home, police said.

The names of the young boy and girl and the 31-year-old man, who had non-life threatening injuries, were not being released pending autopsies on the children, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

Edmonton police found the children's bodies after being called to a townhouse at 11:30 p.m. Sunday to check on the welfare of its occupants, the CBC said.

The Edmonton Sun reported a Children and Youth Services spokesman said the children were "under our care" when they were killed.

"It is very sad, a tragedy," Sam Tarabain, a neighbor, said.

"They have not been here long. My children have not played with them."

Another neighbor, Patricia Antony, said the family had seemed peculiar, the newspaper said.

"They never used the front door and covered the windows, I've never seen them," Antony said.

"This is the first time something like this has happened. We have had small things but never a situation like this."

Chaput Throws Weight Behind DREAM Act

Chaput Throws Weight Behind DREAM Act

This article comes from the Catholic News Agency.
Archbishop Chaput lends his support to the DREAM Act

Washington D.C., Dec 17, 2010 / 07:24 pm (CNA).- Archbishop Charles J. Chaput joined his brother bishops in expressing support for the controversial DREAM Act – a bill that would grant citizenship to many children brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents. The bill is expected to be voted on by the Senate on Dec. 18.

Joining coadjutor Archbishop Jose Gomez of Los Angeles in endorsing the legislation, Archbishop Chaput issued a statement on Dec. 17 urging Catholics to contact their local lawmakers to vote in favor of the measure.

The act's full title is the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. It would allow young people who entered the United States before the age of 16 to apply for legal permanent residence and eventual citizenship, as long as they have finished high school, have no criminal record, have lived in the U.S. for more than five years and have completed two years of college or military service.

While Democrats largely support the measure, Republicans have criticized it for encouraging illegal immigrants to bring their children across unsecured borders. The House has already passed the act, but the Senate vote on Saturday is expected to be close.

Archbishop Chaput said the bill “is about fairness to high school graduates who were brought to this country unlawfully through no fault of their own, since they came with their parents.”

He added that those who would benefit from the act are “talented, intelligent and dedicated young persons who know only the United States as their home.”

He called the bill “a practical, fair and compassionate solution for thousands of young persons in our nation who simply want to reach their God-given potential and contribute to the well-being of our nation.”

“This important piece of legislation is critical for the lives and hopes of thousands of young people across America,” the Denver archbishop said, urging people to contact their federal senators and representatives. Voting in favor of the act “is the right and just thing to do,” he said.

Adding to Archbishop Chaput's support of the bill, several U.S. bishops held a teleconference on Dec. 17 urging Congress to pass the legislation.

Those who participated in the conference included: Cardinal Roger Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles, Archbishop Gomez, Bishop John C. Wester of Salt Lake City and Bishop Edward J. Burns of Juneau, Alaska.

Benedict Calls for a "New Class of Intellectuals"

Benedict Calls for a "New Class of Intellectuals"

This article comes from Zenit.
Benedict XVI Calls for New Class of Intellectuals

Delivers Christmas Greeting to Rome's University Students

VATICAN CITY, DEC. 19, 2010 (Zenit.org).- Italy needs "a new class of intellectuals," according to Benedict XVI.

The Pope said this Thursday in his annual pre-Christmas gathering with Rome's university students, held in St. Peter's Basilica. Some 5,000 students and professors from the universities of Rome attended the event, which was begun by John Paul II in 1979. Also present was the Holy Father's vicar for Rome, Cardinal Agostino Cardinal Vallini.

In his homily, Benedict XVI underscored the necessity of profound educational action and a continual discernment, which "must involve the whole academic community, promoting that synthesis between intellectual formation, moral discipline and religious commitment."

"In our times," he stressed, "one sees the need for a new class of intellectuals who are able to interpret social and cultural dynamics and offer solutions that are not abstract but concrete and realistic. The university is called to play this irreplaceable role and the Church is its convinced and active supporter."

At the beginning of the celebration, Renato Lauro, rector of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," addressed a brief word of greeting to the Pontiff, emphasizing that "believing is not opposed to thinking and intellectual commitment, but it demands it and employs it in a new way with other motivations, as the past 2,000 years of the history of the West have demonstrated through philosophers, theologians, artists and men of science who were profound believers."

In his homily, Benedict XVI invited those presence to fix their gaze upon the stable of Bethlehem and to set out on that path to the Lord who was born to free "the heart from every ferment of intolerance and false expectation," which can always develop if one forgets "that God has already come, he is already at work in our history" and "he asks to be heard."

"Returning there, to that humble and august place, is not a merely ideal journey," he warned, "it is the journey that we are called to take experiencing today God’s nearness and his action that renews and sustains our existence."

"We too must travel to Bethlehem," he encouraged them, "with our gaze turned to God who is patient and faithful, who knows how to wait, who knows how to pause, who knows how to respect the seasons of our existence. That child who we will meet is the full manifestation of the mystery of the love of God, who loves, giving his life, who loves in a disinterested way, who teaches us to love and only asks to be loved."

At the conclusion of the prayer event, a delegation of African university students handed over the icon of Mary Sedes Sapientiae to a group of Spanish students, symbolically initiating the pilgrimage of the icon through all of Spain’s universities ahead of the 26th World Youth Day that will take place in Madrid in August 2011.

Sex and Soup

By Greg Stier|Christian Post Guest Columnist

“Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.” Genesis 25:34

You know the story. Esau was hungry so he sold his invisible birthright to his little brother for a steaming bowl of lentil soup.

It better have been yummy.

To help you realize the significance of this you should understand that, in this culture, being the firstborn son meant you inherited the lion’s share of blessings from your dying daddy. If he had land you got most of it. If he had sheep you got most of them. The rest of the brothers got whatever was leftover.

Suffice it to say, it was way more fun being son number one.

Esau knew this when he came in from a long day of hunting and just had to have a bowl of his brother’s mouth-watering stew. Jacob bargained with him for the ultimate one-sided swap, his soup for Esau’s birthright. “Throw in a piece of bread and you got yourself a deal Jacob!”Esau negotiated. “Done!” said Jacob with a twisted smile.

The younger sibling knew what this birthright was worth, while Esau had no idea or, at the very minimum, didn’t value it. With every spoonful of delicious soup that made its way into Esau’s mouth and down his throat, his rightful blessings were making their way out of his future and down the toilet.

Which brings us to our subject of sex and soup. Hebrews 12:16 makes the not-so-subtle love connection between this unlikely couple, “See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.”

This verse makes it abundantly clear that the temptation of sexual immorality is just like a bowl of hot, steaming stew waiting to steal a believer’s birthright.

What is this birthright? 1 Peter 1:3,4 gives us a powerful glimpse into its worth, “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you….”

Hot sex with someone (other than your spouse of course!) may be tasty for a moment, but it has lasting and devastating consequences. Not only is the pipeline of God’s blessing cut off in this life, but the unimaginable inheritance God has reserved for us in the next life shrinks.

The writer of Hebrews goes on to say this about Esau’s not-so-great soup exchange, “Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.” Hebrews 12:17

Esau mourned when he realized that his dying daddy had no blessing for him because he had sold it to his brother for a quickie lunch. We too will mourn when we realize the full implications of selling our sanctification for a bowlful of lust…devastated marriages, dysfunctional families and destroyed lives.

And that’s just on this side of eternity.

As a traveling evangelist I am very aware of the temptations that are on the road. From airports to hotel lobbies to late dinners at Chili’s, a pretty woman is difficult not to notice. So, whenever I see one, I try to remember Esau and his bowl of stew. I try to remember the birthright I would exchange for a small bowl of instant gratification. I remind myself of the wife and kids God has blessed me with on this side of eternity and the blessings God is reserving me on the other side.

The trade is just not worth it.

Second 'Homosexuality is a Sin' Preacher Awarded Damages for Wrongful Arrest

By Brian Hutt|Christian Today Reporter

LONDON – Christian street preacher Dale Mcalpine is to receive more than $10,000 in damages after police in Cumbria, England, admitted wrongful arrest, unlawful imprisonment and a breach of his human rights.

Mcalpine, 42, was arrested in April by Cumbrian police in his home town of Workington after he mentioned that homosexuality was among the sins listed in the Bible. His comments were not made in his main public sermon but in response to a question about homosexuality posed to him by a passerby.

He was arrested by PC Craig Hynes for a “racially aggravated” offense under Section 5 of the Public Order Act and, after being detained at the station for more than seven hours, was charged with using “threatening, abusive or insulting” words “to cause harassment, alarm or distress.” The charges were later dropped.

The arrest sparked fears for freedom of speech among Christians and was even criticized by prominent gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell.

According to the Christian Institute, which funded Mcalpine’s legal defense, Cumbrian police have accepted that they acted unlawfully.

Mcalpine said he was pleased the case had been settled without going to court.

Responding to the settlement, he said, “I forgive the police for how they treated me and I hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Despite my experience I still respect the police. I will pray for them because they have a difficult and sometimes dangerous job.”

Mike Judge, spokesman for the Christian Institute, said Christians were being treated unfairly.

“Mr. Mcalpine was arrested and held in a cell for expressing his Christian views. This is Cumbria, not North Korea," he said. “Sadly, it’s not an isolated case. We have defended a number of Christians wrongfully arrested under Section 5 of the Public Order Act.

“There is a problem with the law and it needs to be fixed.”

The settlement comes just weeks after Birmingham County Court awarded street preacher Anthony Rollins more than $6,000 in damages after the judge upheld his claims of wrongful arrest.

Rollins was arrested and charged with breaching Section 5 of the Public Order Act after he described homosexual conduct as morally wrong while preaching in Birmingham city center in June 2008. The charges were later dropped.

The street preacher decided to file a lawsuit against West Midlands Police after his complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission was rejected.

His claims of wrongful arrest, unlawful imprisonment, assault and battery, and the infringement of his human rights were upheld by Birmingham County Court on December 8.

The Christian Institute is appealing to the government to amend Section 5 of the Public Order Act, which makes it a criminal offense to use “threatening, abusive or insulting” words or behavior in a way that could alarm or distress another person. It wants the government to repeal the word “insulting.”

Tweets to be allowed from U.K. courtrooms

LONDON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A British high court judge ruled that tweeting from courtrooms will be allowed, saying it is "unlikely to interfere with the proper administration of justice."

The ruling from the Lord Chief Justice for England and Wales came after journalists used Twitter at the bail hearing of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to give live updates, the BBC reported Monday.

"The use of an unobtrusive, hand-held, virtually silent piece of modern equipment for the purposes of simultaneous reporting of proceedings to the outside world as they unfold in court is unlikely to interfere with the proper administration of justice," the judge ruled.

Tweeting from courtrooms has been the subject of controversy because it is a form of public broadcasting potentially readable by anyone.

At Assange's bail application hearing on Tuesday last week at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court, journalists asked the judge whether they could tweet.

District Judge Howard Riddle said he had no objection and several reporters then proceeded to give regular updates throughout the hearing.

The Lord Chief Justice's ruling has immediate effect but a review will be conducted, the BBC reported.

Anonymous thief pays for stolen hammer, decades later

PITTSBURGH

PITTSBURGH (Reuters) - An anonymous thief sent an envelope of cash to a family-owned supply store in western Pennsylvania to pay for a hammer stolen decades ago, one of the store owners said on Monday.

The cash arrived at Central Contractors Supply Co. in Johnstown, Pa., with a handwritten note saying the hammer was stolen 25 to 30 years ago, said Lynne Gramling, who owns the store with her father.

"I knew it was wrong, but I did it anyway. Enclosed is $45 to cover the hammer plus a little extra for interest," said the unsigned letter dated December 6. "I'm sorry I stole it, but have changed my ways."

While plenty of merchandise has disappeared since the family bought the store some 50 years ago, this is the first time anyone has paid for a stolen item, Gramling said.

Gramling took the money to a nearby shopping mall, where her father was volunteering as a Salvation Army bell ringer.

"I went up and dropped the money in his kettle," she said, adding that the money was "really a lot more than a hammer would cost."

"He was very generous," she said.

Govt 'Creating Vast Domestic Snooping Machine'

Govt 'Creating Vast Domestic Snooping Machine'

The U.S. government is creating a vast domestic spying network to collect information about Americans in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and subsequent terror plots, The Washington Post reported Monday.

The government is using for this purpose the FBI, local police, state homeland security offices, and military criminal investigators, the daily added.

The system collects, stores, and analyzes information about thousands of citizens and residents, many of whom have not been accused of any wrongdoing, the report noted.

The government's goal is to have every state and local law enforcement agency in the country feed information to Washington to buttress the work of the FBI, noted the paper, which has conducted its own investigation of the matter.

According to the report, the network includes 4,058 federal, state, and local organizations, each with its own counterterrorism responsibilities and jurisdictions.

At least 935 of these organizations have been created since the 2001 attacks, The Post added.

The probe has revealed that technologies and techniques developed for use on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan have migrated into the hands of law enforcement agencies in the United States, the paper pointed out.

In addition, the FBI is building a database with the names and personal information of thousands of U.S. citizens and residents, the report said.

The database is accessible to an increasing number of local law enforcement and military criminal investigators, the report noted.

In a bid to counter what is seen as a threat from radical Islam, some law enforcement agencies have hired as trainers people whose extremist views on Islam and terrorism are considered inaccurate and counterproductive by U.S. intelligence agencies, the paper pointed out.

The cost of the network is difficult to measure, the paper said. But the Department of Homeland Security has given $31 billion in grants since 2003 to state and local governments for homeland security and to improve their ability to find and protect against terrorists, The Post said.

Only this year, it gave $3.8 billion to local law enforcement agencies.

FCC Chair Closes in on Network Neutrality

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski (pictured) is inching closer to securing approval for his network neutrality proposal designed to protect the openness of the Internet. The National Journal reports that fellow Democrats Michael Copps and Mignon Clyburn may be ready to sign on the deal.

fcc, chairmam, net, neutralityAccording the Journal, Copps and Clyburn have been reluctant to go along with the chairman’s plan because it is too favorable to major broadband providers. An FCC source tells the National Journal’s Tech Daily Dose column that progress is being made in “addressing concerns about wireless carriers, limiting Internet toll lanes and adding protections for a new online pricing model.”

According to the Journal, Republicans on the commission object to the rules as unnecessary government regulation. The new regulations could be considered at the commission’s meeting on Tuesday.

York City to offer free flu medication to residents

LAUREN WHETZEL The York Dispatch

York City residents experiencing early symptoms of the flu but who are uninsured or tight on cash, have the opportunity to keep about $70 in their pockets.

The city's Bureau of Health is making Tamiflu, an antiviral medication used to treat flu symptoms, available to city residents free of charge until April.

Because of the high cost of Tamiflu, some residents aren't able to get their hands on the medicine, which is used in the early stages of the flu and reduces its symptoms, said Dr. David Hawk, medical director of the bureau.

The program was initiated last year and requires a certification from an individual's medical care provider to make sure the individual meets the criteria for the free medicine.

After health officials at the bureau receive the OK from a doctor, Tamiflu will be dispensed to the city resident at the bureau's Albert S. Weyer Health Center at 435 W. Philadelphia St.

For more information about Tamiflu, contact the York City Bureau of Health at 849-2299.

"In today's economic hard times, nobody should have to suffer from influenza because of lack of funds to pay for very expensive yet very effective medicine," Hawk said.

Wikileaks: Vatican Used Diplomatic Immunity to Avoid Questions about Child-abuse in Ireland

Amplify’d from www.ktfministry.org

It has been known for quite a while that the Vatican used its diplomatic-immunity status to thwart the Irish independent investigation of sex-abuse by Irish priests. But U.S. diplomatic cables released by Wikileaks revealed that the Vatican was “offended” that Ireland failed to respect Holy See “sovereignty” by asking Vatican officials to answer questions from the Irish commission.

The U.S. ambassador to the Vatican “condemned the leaks and said the Vatican and America cooperate in promoting universal values.” That would be Vatican values of course.

One leaked document revealed the complicity of the Irish diplomats in Rome. The cable discussed Ireland’s diplomatic bind. “Ireland wanted to be seen as fully supportive of the independent probe into child-abuse cover-ups in the Dublin Archdiocese,” but the U.S. diplomat reported that the Irish diplomats in Rome decided not to press Vatican officials to respond to questions from the Irish commission. Letters sent to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Vatican’s ambassador to Ireland seeking information on Vatican officials’ knowledge of cover-ups, were never answered.

The leaked cables reveal that “the investigators’ letters ‘offended many in the Vatican’ because they were viewed as ‘an affront to Vatican sovereignty.’”

Critics say that “the Vatican was concerned only about protecting itself, not about admitting the truth.” In spite of Vatican statements of concern for the victims, the Vatican was apparently concerned that the Irish government had failed to protect the Vatican from intrusive questions.

“Self-interest ruled the day when their priests were raping children,” said Andrew Madden, a former altar boy who was molested by a Dublin priest.

Revelation 17:4, 5 says that “the woman (Church) was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication; and upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

White House Gives Go-ahead For Elitists to Control DNA :

Michael Edwards

Activist Post

It is official: in the name of “clean energy, pollution control and medicine,” the White House is prepared to let scientists, spearheaded by the J. Craig Venter Institute, “manipulate DNA of organisms to forge new life forms,” according to a recent AFP article.

The Orwellian language used by Barack Obama’s Presidential Commission For The Study of Bioethical Issues is a study in wordiness, misdirection, and obfuscation that is typical when trying to cover up the true intent. For example, on one hand the Commission acknowledges that the J. Craig Venter Institute has found the ability to forge new life forms, but also states that Venter’s team didn’t create life, since the work primarily involved altering an already existing life form.

Since we won’t get straight truth from the mainstream media, science, or the government, it is better advised to look at who Craig Venter is, and what public statements have been issued about this agenda that literally could transform the human race from a naturally evolving species into a manipulated computer code.

As far back as 2003, a BBC article titled Warning on Gene ‘ID Cards’ cited Craig Venter as a leading scientist in gene mapping who, at the time, was offering the “very rich” a chance to buy their map for $710,000. This sets up, in effect, a division of gene class where elites would have access to potentially life-saving information, while the underclass could be discriminated against by insurance companies and employers. The short article concludes with an even more critical warning by Dr. Helen Wallace of GeneWatch that, “What we could end up with is a massive DNA database by the back door.” And this was almost 8 years ago.

In the intervening time, the possible misuse of such a database became clear in 2006 when collaboration between the J. Craig Venter Institute and Google resulted in a ZDNet article titled Google Accused of Bio-Piracy. Plans were revealed to “create a searchable online database of all the genes on the planet.” The source of this story came from a Pulitzer Prize winner, David Vise, but to this day it seems that neither the J. Craig Venter Institute, nor Google have acknowledged any ongoing partnership.

The Institute announced in May of this year that it finally had created the first self-replicating, synthetic bacterial cell, dubbed Synthia by the media. Most people probably concluded that this was a rather innocuous, self-promoting announcement designed to receive funding. However, if one looks deeper into this press release, one should notice the words “synthetic genome.” This is an admission that goes beyond simply altering an existing life form, as the Institute asserts, but illustrates the ability to replicate the entirety of an organism’s hereditary information.

The technical breakdown of this initiative is exceedingly important, but is better left to experts in the field. Regardless, the assertions of the J. Craig Venter Institute have found the “software of life” are being taken seriously by the White House at a time when revelations about how computing, medicine, technology, and the police state are converging on an almost daily basis. In just the past month, the following stories made headlines:

* Lawsuits have been filed in Austin, TX by parents who have discovered that DNA had been secretly taken from babies and sold to pharmaceutical companies and/or the Armed Forces for genetic research as far back as 2002.

* Unions have started to implement biometric ID “threat assessment” cards at the behest of Homeland Security in a “cooperative effort between public and private authorities.”

* Iris scan technology is being used by NYC law enforcement to create a biometric database in homage to Minority Report.

* GM Mosquitoes have been released in the Cayman Islands to combat Dengue fever, while noted depopulation advocate, Bill Gates, has been funding the initiative.

* Connections have been made between the above-mentioned Dengue fever mosquito release to the history of CIA bioweapons research, as well as various NGOs and Globalist think tanks that will apply the funding of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation toward “flying vaccines” as a solution to the “problem” of viruses.

It is worth adding that part of the stated purpose of the first artificial cell, Synthia, is “faster vaccine production.”

The flowery language that comes from elite circles about Utopian equality ring empty in the face of their documented history of discriminatory programs and depopulation initiatives. Giving over our blood, and now our life force, to elites who long ago distanced themselves from the concerns of the average man and woman does not bode well for the health of humanity.
