TODAY'S HEADLINES:
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.(1 Thessalonians 5:12-22, 1599 Geneva Bible)

VisiontoAmerica.com Vision To America is a division of Christian Worldview Communications, LLC. Founded in 2006 by Gary DeMar and Brandon Vallorani, Vision to America exists to help America return to our Founding Father's vision for a Christian Republic. America was once a light to the worldâa place that God blessed with liberty and prosperity. Today, Americans are taught that the Almighty State has all the answers. As a result, our God-given liberties are being traded for a false sense of security. It is our Vision to see Americans once again recognize that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights and that this Creator is the God of the Bible.

Drudge Goes Ballistic Over the Feds’ Snooping.
Matt Drudge knows what his readers like to read. Today’s headlines are all on one theme: the federal government’s domestic spying. He was just getting warmed up. This was choice. This will in no way reverse the process. The cost of monitoring everyone continues to fall. Economics teaches that when the price of anything falls, [...] READ MORE

If at First Inflation Fails, Try, Try Again.
The Reuters headline says it all: U.S. hiring scene pointing to economy in need of Fed’s help. I can almost hear the Beach Boys’ Al Jardine: “Help me, Benny! Obama To Ignore Senate, Sign 2nd Amendment-Violating U.N. Gun Treaty Obama To Ignore Senate, Sign 2nd Amendment-Violating U.N. Gun Treaty »
A majority in the U.S. Senate has told President Barack Obama not to do it. There's no doubt that an overwhelming majority of Americans would oppose it — if the media ever told them about it. Nonetheless, this past Monday, Secretary of State John Kerry said that Obama will sign a controversial gun-control treaty promulgated by the United Nations. More »

With the exception of some dogged reporters who've essentially had to go rogue within their own organizations in order to delve into the Benghazi scandal (and been persecuted by their own employers as a thank-you), there's been precious little issues-based reporting, and a truckload of damage control, emanating from the American mainstream press over the IRS scandal; the AP scandal; Benghazi and, now, Verizon.  More »

In socially conservative, rural States, a lot of sworn Republicans' staunch talk about smaller government and ending welfare melts away to the loudest of Liberal bellyaching when talk turns to trimming or ending agricultural subsidies. Now, a new report reveals that members of Congress received nearly $250,000 in Farm Bill entitlements last year, violating the spirit of what was supposed to be a temporary bailout designed to lift struggling Depression-era farmers. More »

The Destruction of Justice: Plea Bargains

A plea bargain is defined simply as a "deal" between a criminal defendant and his/her prosecutor. The accused gets a reduced charge or charges and subsequent sentence in exchange for pleading guilty to a lesser crime. Most qualified information shows that plea bargains take place in 90-plus-percent of all criminal cases filed in the U.S. each year and innocent victims of false prosecution feel the brunt of it. Usually, an innocent defendant is charged with numerous (stacked) criminal charges and they are informed by their own attorney that they are facing many years in prison. The defendant's attorney usually explains the downside to not accepting the plea bargain (lesser sentence) in a subtle, yet alarming manner. Faced with a life-ending sentence if convicted on the stacked charges, most defendants break and take the deceptive plea bargain. More »
