PA House Democratic Caucus: Let's save the PA Lottery together

Corbett should drop lottery scheme   Attorney General Kathleen Kane last month rejected Gov. Tom Corbett’s contract with United Kingdom-based Camelot Global Services to privatize management of the Pennsylvania Lottery. Her denial of the contract was based on constitutional grounds, where the governor does not have the legal authority to expand gaming in the state. We would like to thank you for previously contacting Gov. Corbett with your concerns about his lottery outsourcing plan. Now that the matter is settled by Pennsylvania's top law enforcement official, House Democrats are calling on the Republican majority to pass our legislation, which would provide more than $120 million in additional state funding for senior programs next fiscal year – more than double Gov. Tom Corbett’s proposal – without the need to outsource the Pennsylvania Lottery. Under the House Democratic plan, lottery proceeds would continue to benefit older Pennsylvanians rather than being sliced up to benefit corporate shareholders. Gov. Corbett has until the end of next week to decide on whether he'll continue to pursue a contract with Camelot. Thanks again for telling the governor what you think.
