By not practicing such things it would not attract those that would corrupt and defile the faith with such things.
It attracts the pagans, thus bringing more tithes into the church.
Which brings up the other pagan god, Mammon.
By corrupting and defiling the faith with such things, it brings us more into line with Catholicism and enabling the Protestants and Catholics to commune together again putting aside all the things that millions died for over the centuries in purifying their faith in God and Jesus.
That is exactly what has been going on with the Lutheran's, Methodist's, Anglicans, etc.
They are rejoining the Catholic church. In the early years of the Country it was illegal to celebrate such things.

Easter
The Pope makes sure Easter never falls on the same day as the Passover, so as not to associate themselves with God and His Passover Feast! If the day were to fall on the same day, they postpone Easter by 1 week. Easter is celebrated on the first SUNday after the full moon.
Halloween
Halloween on the other hand draws attention away from Reformation Day, which occurred on Oct. 31, 1517 when Martin Luther nailed the 95 Thesis to the door of the Wittenberg church. Halloween at least, it is not a deception as is Christmas and Easter!
Friday the 13th
The superstitious day of Friday the 13th feared by everyone, is the day that the Roman Catholic church had all the Knights Templar's massacred. The ones that escaped to Scotland started the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, which we are plagued by in American politics.
