Gun Sales Surge in Central PA as Election Day Nears

Freedom Armory in Glen Rock Seeing an Increase in Sales;

Gun sales are on the rise as fear connected to the upcoming presidential election, along with crime rise.  Freedom Armory in Glen Rock, York County has seen a 25% increase in sales. The spike became apparent in November, during the 2012 Presidential Republican Primary debates.  Handguns make up the bulk of the sales.  Some believing President Barack Obama will win re-election and implement stricter gun laws.

"If he's elected again there's nothing to hold him back," said Scott Morris, Freedom Armory.  "He's not trying to get re-elected again. So he can be as radical as he wants with no consequences. That's the fear and that's motivating people."

 While sales are doing well, they could be doing better.  With an increase in sales, gun manufacturers have backlogs.  Morris says some companies have backlogs that date back a year and a half.

Comment:
Jane Liberty: No - they're not afraid Obama will win and implement stricter gun laws.
They're afraid Romney will win and Obama's people will riot, because that's what they do -- kill people in mobs.

King Of The Fundraisers

Obama is busy raising campaign funds. Although Barack Obama condemned "the corrosive influence of money in politics" in his State of the Union speech this year, it turns out that he wants to get his hands on as much of it as possible. A new book by Brendan J. Doherty, The Rise of the President's Permanent Campaign, says that Obama has held more re-election fundraising events since taking office than the combined total of all five of his predecessors in the Oval Office. Doherty found that as of March 6, Obama had held 104 fundraisers.  More »
