York County might owe you money

CHRISTINA KAUFFMANThe York Dispatch

Ever been in prison, sat on a jury, paid a fine or been a victim of a crime?

York County might be looking to give you money.

County Controller Robb Green on Monday launched a website listing hundreds of people who have unclaimed property because of business conducted with any of the county's departments.

Green said the county is holding more than $350,000 that belongs to someone else, and he thought the holidays would be a nice time to make it easier to claim the money.

The website is available at www.york-county.org, then click on "Controller" under "Select a Department."

The list is available on the Controller's page, under "Links."

Russian Armed Forces on High Alert Over North Korea

ABC NEWS RADIO

(MOSCOW) — Russia announced Tuesday that its armed forces in the east are on high alert.  This comes in light of what it calls an “inadequate situation” on the Korean peninsula as tensions have increased in recent weeks between the North and South.

The head of Russia’s military said they continue to follow what is happening and have taken measures to raise the forces’ combat readiness.

On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov welcomed his North Korean counterpart to Moscow.  In the meeting, Lavrov expressed concern with North Korea’s ongoing uranium enrichment activities.  He also condemned North Korea’s attack on the South’s Yeonpyeong Island, which has been the source of the recent increased tension.

Georgia Man Pleads Guilty to Participating in International Child Pornography Ring Dismantled by International Law Enforcement Effort

Five of 16 Defendants Charged in United States Have Now Pleaded Guilty to Roles in “Lost Boy” Child Pornography Ring

WASHINGTON—A Georgia man pled guilty yesterday in Los Angeles to transporting child pornography using a secret Internet bulletin board that allowed approximately three dozen members to trade thousands of images and videos of child pornography depicting young boys in sexually explicit situations, announced Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Criminal Division; U.S. Attorney André Birotte Jr.; and Assistant Director in Charge Steve Martinez of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office.

Yesterday’s guilty plea by David Michael Fagerness is the result of an international investigation into the “Lost Boy” online bulletin board. Federal authorities, working in conjunction with a coalition of international law enforcement agencies, shut down the Lost Boy bulletin board approximately two years ago.

As a result of the investigation, 16 named defendants have been charged in the United States for their roles in the ring. To date, five defendants have pleaded guilty for their roles, and an additional two defendants have agreed to plead guilty. An additional eight defendants who are alleged to be Lost Boy members currently face federal charges, including engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison. Trial for these remaining defendants is currently set for April 26, 2011. The original indictment in the case was returned on Jan. 23, 2009. The first superseding indictment was returned on Sept. 22, 2009, and on Aug. 31, 2010, a grand jury returned a second superseding indictment.

“Through unprecedented cooperation with foreign law enforcement partners, we have brought down a global online group whose principal purpose was to victimize children,” said Assistant Attorney General Breuer. “The members of the Lost Boy bulletin board used sophisticated vetting procedures to facilitate the sexual abuse of children and enable its users to produce and share child pornography, while also developing a handbook on how to groom potential victims. We are committed to pursuing these perpetrators wherever they are through international investigations and prosecutions like the one we are highlighting today.”

“The Lost Boy bulletin board allowed members to access pornographic images of hundreds of boys who were victimized for sexual purposes,” said United States Attorney André Birotte Jr. “The investigation by officials here in the United States, working in conjunction with their law enforcement counterparts around the globe, shut down an international child pornography ring and will hopefully bring some justice to the numerous victims. As a result of this investigation, authorities also discovered individuals who abused children, made their own child pornography, and shared their disturbing product with others on the Internet.”

“The Lost Boy case represents a global subculture that exists for the purpose of trading of child pornography and other tools used to sexually exploit children,” said Steven Martinez, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI in Los Angeles. “The FBI and our partners in Los Angeles and globally will continue to work together to identify these networks and to pursue charges against those who abuse children.”

Fagerness, 44, pled guilty yesterday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to conspiracy to transport child pornography. Fagerness, of the Atlanta area, relocated to the Czech Republic after being convicted of possessing child pornography in Florida state court in 2005. Fagerness faces a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for June 6, 2011.

In addition to Fagerness, four individuals have previously pleaded guilty for their roles in Lost Boy. Andrew Neil Scott, 30, of Flint, Mich., pleaded guilty on Dec. 2, 2010, to one count of participating in a child pornography enterprise and two counts of producing child pornography. According to court documents, Scott admitted to participating in Lost Boy, as well as to molesting two boys and producing child pornography. In his plea agreement, Scott agreed to be sentenced to at least 25 years in prison and to a maximum of 30 years in prison. Anthony Jasso, 46, of Laguna Beach and Redlands, Calif., pleaded guilty in May 2010 to conspiracy to advertise child pornography, a charge that carries a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence. Court documents describe Jasso as belonging to a southern California club called “Boy Lovers,” whose members gathered to watch child erotica and to attend events involving children. Justin Lee, 33, of Phoenix, pleaded guilty in September 2010 to transporting child pornography, which carries a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison. Woodrow Tracy, 65, of Sun Valley, Calif., pleaded guilty in September 2010.

According to court documents, law enforcement authorities discovered the Lost Boy bulletin board after receiving information from Eurojust, the judicial cooperation arm of the European Union. Eurojust provided U.S. law enforcement with leads obtained from Norwegian and Italian authorities indicating that a North Hollywood, Calif., man was communicating with an Italian national about child pornography and how to engage in child sex tourism in Romania. Acting on the information from Europe, the FBI executed search warrants that led to the discovery of the Lost Boy network. According to court documents, further investigation revealed that Lost Boy had 35 members, 15 of whom were U.S. nationals. Other members of the network were located in countries around the world, including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, and New Zealand.

The Lost Boy bulletin board, according to court documents, was dedicated to men who have a sexual interest in young boys and was established to provide a forum to trade child pornography. Lost Boy is alleged to have had a thorough vetting process for new members, most of whom had to post child pornography to join the organization. Once accepted, members had to continue to post child pornography to remain in good standing and not be removed from the board. According to court documents, Lost Boy members advised each other on techniques to evade detection by law enforcement, which included using screen names to mask identities.

Court documents show that the Lost Boy bulletin board had a forum called the “Handbook Project,” where members read and contributed to a grooming handbook, which was a guide for adult men on how to find and groom boys into engaging in sex, how to deal with physical aspects of sexual contact, and how to move on to other victims when the current victim grows too old to be attractive.

Through the Lost Boy investigation and related investigations, law enforcement authorities in the United States identified and arrested 15 alleged Lost Boy members, as well as approximately six more men who have been charged with child molestation. The investigation also led to the identification of 27 domestic victims of child abuse, some of whom were portrayed in images posted to the Lost Boy bulletin board.

International law enforcement efforts involving European law enforcement, the Brazilian Federal Police, and other agencies have identified child molestation suspects in South America, Europe, and New Zealand. Three suspects in Romania, one in France, and another in Brazil have been charged, and offenders have been convicted in Norway and the United Kingdom. Law enforcement efforts have also identified dozens of child victims located in Norway, Romania, Brazil, and other nations.

The investigation into the Lost Boy bulletin board is an ongoing effort by the FBI and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, in conjunction with the Los Angeles-based Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Team. The High Technology Investigative Unit of the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), along with Eurojust, have provided invaluable assistance during the investigation. The SAFE Team in Los Angeles is comprised of the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the California Department of Justice, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and the Los Angeles Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joey L. Blanch and Yvonne Garcia, and CEOS Trial Attorney Andrew McCormack.

Huntsville Man Pleads Guilty to Receipt of Child Pornography

HOUSTON—Jeremiah Reece Evesson, 23, has been convicted of receipt of child pornography after pleading guilty to the federal felony charge before U.S. District Judge Nancy Atlas this afternoon, United States Attorney José Angel Moreno announced today.

Evesson, a Huntsville, Texas resident, faces a minimum sentence of five years’ imprisonment up to 20 years and a maximum fine of $250,000 as possible punishment. Upon completion of any prison term imposed, Evesson also faces a maximum of life on supervised release during which the court can impose a number of special conditions designed to protect children and prohibit the use of the Internet. Judge Atlas set sentencing for March 1, 2011.

The charges against Evesson are the result of an investigation conducted by the Conroe office of the FBI, which began on April 17, 2009, when a FBI undercover agent (UC) in Maryland used a file-sharing program to search for child pornography. The UC saw that a computer, later associated with Evesson, had numerous images and video files depicting child pornography available for sharing. The UC downloaded 38 files and, when reviewed, all files contained child pornography. The computer was traced to Evesson at his home address in Huntsville.

On June 5, 2009, agents executed a federal search warrant at Evesson’s residence and seized several hard drives, a Compaq desktop computer, and 15 CDs which contained thousands of images containing child pornography, including bondage and anal penetration of young boys by adult males. Agents also found a number of e-mails to and from Evesson with photos attached which depicted child pornography.

Evesson was arrested in September 2010 in the San Antonio area and had another computer in his possession which also contained child pornography. Evesson has been in custody without bond since his arrest and will remain in custody pending his sentencing.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. for Transporting a Minor from Hyde Park, New York
to Indiana for Sex

PREET BHARARA, the United States Attorney for the
Southern District of New York, announced that United States
District Judge CATHY SEIBEL sentenced FOSTER CREAGER, 41, to 12
years' imprisonment yesterday for his transportation of a minor
from Hyde Park, New York to Angola, Indiana for purposes of
engaging in illegal sex.

According to documents filed in this case:

On September
10, 2009, a 15-year-old girl from Hyde Park, New York (the "victim") was discovered missing. Hyde Park Police and the New

via e-mail with an individual using the name "Kenneth Bone." The
subscriber of the cellular phone used by "Kenneth Bone" was FOSTER CREAGER, with an address in Angola, Indiana.

Subsequently, the victim was found in a trailer and
recreational vehicle park in Angola, Indiana with CREAGER. On
September 11, 2009, the victim was examined at a hospital, and a
rape examination was performed. Forensic results revealed that the
specimens recovered from the victim contained DNA that matched DNA
from CREAGER.

CREAGER pled guilty on February 4, 2010. At his
guilty plea proceeding, CREAGER admitted that he and his mother,
JUDY DELONG, drove from Indiana to Hyde Park, New York, picked up
the victim, and drove back to Indiana. CREAGER admitted that he
knew the victim was 15 years old and that he picked her up in New
York with the intent to have sexual intercourse with her.

On July 8, 2010, JUDY DELONG pled guilty to misprison
of a felony in White Plains federal court. Among other things,
DELONG admitted that she knew that CREAGER intended to engage in
sexual activity with the underage victim and that she provided her
motor home in Indiana for CREAGER and the victim to use and conceal
themselves. On November 2, 1010, Judge SEIBEL sentenced Delong to
a 16-month term of imprisonment.

In imposing the 12-year term of imprisonment, Judge

Selkirk Man Sentenced for Receiving Child Pornography

ALBANY, NY—United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and John F. Pikus, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Albany Division, announced that KEVIN FRONE, age 57, of Selkirk, New York, was sentenced on December 13, 2010 by the Honorable Thomas J. McAvoy in Federal District Court in Albany on his guilty plea to count one of an information charging him with the receipt of child pornography. FRONE was sentenced to 96 months of imprisonment and supervised release for a term of life. He was also ordered to: (1) have no unsupervised contact with minors; and (2) register with the New York State Sex Offender Registry Program. The court also ordered that three computers and an external hard drive be forfeited to the United States.

FRONE pled guilty on April 19, 2010. In connection with his plea, FRONE admitted the following in a written plea agreement and during his plea proceeding:

Between about December 2004 and February 2009, FRONE, while
in his residence, used various computers to access the Internet. While on the Internet, FRONE downloaded and installed a file sharing program called "Google Hello" onto said computers. Google Hello is known as a peer-to-peer file-sharing program and it allows Internet users to trade and receive digital files from other users of computers with the same file sharing program.

While using the Google Hello program and the e-mail address
gs71stage1@yahoo.com and screen name littlegirl119vt, FRONE obtained several electronic files containing still images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Additionally, FRONE obtained electronic files containing still image and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct by visiting various child pornography websites. FRONE typically downloaded such still images and videos to the aforementioned computers and saved said images to an Iomega external hard drive.

In or about July, 2007 investigators identified FRONE's e-mail address of
gs71stage1@yahoo.com and screen name littlegirl119vt as having traded or received child pornography with/from other consumers of child pornography. Investigators then obtained the IP address assigned to the aforementioned Internet account and found that said IP address belonged to Time Warner Cable. Investigators determined that the IP address was being used by someone residing at the defendant's residence in Selkirk, New York.

On February 9, 2009, investigators executed a federal search warrant at
FRONE's residence in Selkirk, New York. Investigators seized the computers and a Iomega external hard drive referenced above. The seized items were searched and forensic examinations of the aforementioned computers and external hard drive, all of which belonged to the defendant, were conducted. Approximately 500 still images and 100 movie files which depict minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, as those terms and phrases are defined in Title 18, United States Code, Section 2256(2), were recovered from the Iomega external hard drive. Said images depict individuals under the age of 18 engaged in, among other things, vaginal sex, oral sex, anal sex, sado-masochistic conduct, masturbation, and the lascivious exhibition of the genitals and pubic area. All of the images recovered depict actual, as opposed to computer generated, images of minors engaged in such conduct. A number of these images depict prepubescent minors engaged in such conduct.

On or about February 9, 2009 FRONE was interviewed by law
enforcement officials. During this interview, he stated, among other things, that:

i. He used the aforesaid computers to search for and access child pornography via websites on the Internet and Google Hello;

ii. He downloaded child pornography as a "sexual release";

iii. He saved some of the child pornography still images and movie files that he received via the Internet into an electronic folder entitled "pictures" on his Iomega external hard drive; and

iv. That he had been accessing and downloading child pornography on the Internet for approximately one year.

This case was investigated by the FBI's Capital Region Cyber Predator Task Force.

In Tanzania, new ADRA project to support albino community

Albinos in sub-Saharan Africa face isolation, physical threats, ADRA officials say
Bert Smith /ANN staff

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency in the United Kingdom is providing support and training for the albino community in Tanzania, which faces a lack of education, scarce job opportunities and segregation in the region.

Launched this month, the two-year Tanzania Albino Society Support and Empowerment Project (TASSEP) will work with the region's albino community to provide training in networking, advocacy and management from their headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

The project follows previous projects by ADRA Tanzania, including the donation of sun-protection products, prescription glasses and tuition support for albino students. ADRA officials said a follow-up project is expected to focus on microfinance, as well as the medical and educational needs of the albino community.

Across sub-Saharan Africa, discrimination against albinos is accelerating. Social stigma, physical vulnerability to the sun and poor eyesight contribute to make the estimated 150,000 albinos in Tanzania the country's most impoverished people group. Albinos regularly face ridicule, isolation and physical threats -- the body parts of albinos are valued on the black market for use in witchcraft, ADRA officials said.

"The community in general has not reached the level of understanding that we are all the same, with only a difference in skin pigment," Zulfa, a teenaged member of Tanzania's albino community, told ADRA officials.

"We all have the same needs. We are all human," she said.

As part of TASSEP, volunteers are expected to form advocacy groups to travel to key locations in Tanzania to raise awareness of the albino community through presentations in schools and churches.

Through songs, dramas, stories and speeches, the groups will seek to educate the public about albinism and increase support for the albino community, ADRA officials said.

Prof reprimanded for bizarre campus orgy

Participants dressed as monks during hour-long session

An Aalborg University professor and at least three other men and one woman have been caught on tape holding a steamy orgy on campus.

According to TV2, the professor has organised several orgies in a university machine room and police are now looking into whether the activities were illegal.

The hour-long webcam recording reportedly shows the four men wearing monk robes while having sex with the woman. The video was recorded by an anonymous person who did not take part, but who wanted to expose the activities.

The orgies have reportedly been going on for an extended period of time in the room located in the university basement.

The recorded orgy is said to show the participants carefully preparing the room and equipment for an hour leading up to the encounter. Afterwards the room is cleaned up and all traces of the activity are removed.

The professor has been reprimanded but will be allowed to keep his position at the university.

”What consenting people get up to in their spare time is none of my business,” said university rector Finn Kjærsdam. “But we're responsible for all university facilities, and we cannot and will not have things like that going on here.”
