Vatican plays down Pope's remarks on condoms
The Vatican has played down the importance of Pope Benedict's remarks appearing to temper the opposition of the Roman Catholic Church to condoms. The Vatican spokesman said the pontiff's comments were not "revolutionary", but added it was the first time Pope Benedict had commented on the issue informally.
The Pope made clear in his view condoms were no answer to the Aids pandemic.
But he said their use could sometimes be justified in exceptional cases.
Vatican spokesman Fr Federico Lombardi said the Pope was speaking about "an exceptional situation" in one of the interviews in the book Light of the World: The Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times, which is being published on Tuesday.
"The Pope considered an exceptional situation in which the exercise of sexuality is a real danger to the life of another," said Fr Lombardi.
Benedict used the specific example of a male prostitute using a condom to illustrate his apparent shift in position.
"The Pope maintains that condom use to lessen the danger of infection is a 'first assumption of responsibility,'" said Fr Lombardi, quoting from the book.
"In this, the reasoning of the Pope certainly cannot be defined as a revolutionary breakthrough."
'Step forward'
The Vatican has long opposed condoms as an artificial form of contraception.
This had drawn heavy criticism, particularly from Aids campaigners, who said condoms were one of the few methods proven to stop the spread of HIV.
The head of the United Nations Aids agency, Michael Sidibe, said the Pope's words were a significant step forward.
They were also welcomed by the Save the Children charity, although a spokesman said the Catholic Church needed to go further in supporting condom use for preventing the spread of Aids.
The new book is based on a series of interviews the Pope gave German Catholic journalist, Peter Seewald, earlier this year.
The Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, published excerpts of the interview in its Saturday edition.

Post From Alex on Logo and Endame of Papacy’s CFR: Antichrist of Revelation 6
Post From Alex on Logo and Endame of Papacy’s CFR: Antichrist of Revelation 6
CFR Logo: Antichrist; White Horse Rider of Revelation 6:2
Hello Eric,
I am sure you are aware of the CFR’s obvious “rider on the white horse” logo, but have you also researched the background of the Latin phrase that the logo also contains? In latin, it is “VBIQVE” which means, “everywhere”. This same phrase was also commonly used on Roman coins. The phrase “Vbiqve victores” would be used by the legions of Constantine (the same Constantine, who, like emperors before him, belonged to a secret Mithraic order, and who would successfully fuse Mithraism with Christianity: hence, Roman Catholicism), after he made his most notable conquests [Milvian Bridge]. Basically, VBIQVE was used in a context dealing with conquests.
The full phrase on the CFR logo should be “EVERYWHERE, CONQUER” instead of just “EVERYWHERE,” but had they used the full phrase, people would obviously be more wary of them (as they should)! Is it no wonder that Satanist Aleister Crowley called the beast to come the “conquering child”? Mithras was also known as “Sol Invictus,” or the unconquered sun (Remember the “Christian” Constantine’s vision of the sun and the cross, with the accompanying statement, “In this sign, conquer”?). His imagery was ALSO used on Roman coins, usually on the opposite side of the emperor on the coin. He is considered to be the invincible and inseperable companion of the emperor: http://books.google.ca/books?id=QK1M2VD1tsAC&pg=PA751&lpg=PA751&dq=vbiqve+invictus&source=bl&ots=dL_NHmBYhz&sig=NuSxiY_3B1SIDU_pbNqe4g-_51Y&hl=en&ei=UuHoTLrWAoSycPep0dEK&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBUQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=vbiqve%20invictus&f=false
Also, if Constantine was so “Christian,” why did he continue to use the deity of Sol Invictus on his coinage, as well as adopt the title of “Pontifex Maximus” which was a title used by the high ranking figures in the cult of Mithraism [that title used by every Roman Caesar until Gratian gave it to Damasus I, Bishop of Rome---the first Pope of Rome]? Mithraism was, (and still is) a mystery religion, and was also most likely a precursor to those that followed it, i.e., freemasonry.
Of course, all of this (in particular, the CFR logo) ties in really well with this Bible verse:
“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Revelation 6:2
This verse is attributed to the Antichrist, also known as the “conquering child” by Aleister Crowley, and “Sol Invictus” (the unconquered Sun), as well as the rider on the CFR logo, who “everywhere, conquers.”

Not All Races From Africa: Breaking Rome’s Plot of “Africanizing” Origen of Man
Women of the Different Races Descended From Noah, Japheth, Shem and Ham
urprisingly, it would take the Chinese to begin to break the mantra “Man originated in Africa.” It is a pity this Africanization of the history of man, couched under the label of “science,” should have been permitted to be taught as fact for the last 40 years. Now, there are accomplished scientists who are openly challenging this religious belief based upon sound fossil evidence. Despite the nonsense of the touted age of these human fossils (formed during the Great Flood of Noah, as fossilization—the record of death, not of life—does not occur apart from the Great Flood), and in spite of the fallacious dating methods employed (carbon dating), the conclusion is true: men of all races NEVER originated from Africa! In fact, according to the Biblical record, NO RACE of man originated in Africa. Louis Leakey, worshipper of Jesuit Coadjutor Charles Darwin (father of the Piltdown Man Hoax), was a bold-faced liar, just as was the father of the Peking Man Hoax—-French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin!

Saintly statue stymies unholy church donation box thief
A WOULD-BE thief who attempted to steal a church donation box in Munich suffered divine retribution in the form of a falling statue of a saint that gashed his head, the German website The Local reported yesterday.
The Local said the nearly life-size statue of Saint Antonius tumbled from its wooden base as the thief was trying to break open the donation box attached to the same structure.
"He (the saint) obviously did not want to let it go," it quoted the church’s priest, Ludwig Sperrer, as saying with a grin.
But the thief didn’t undergo a miraculous conversion despite the statue’s apparent intervention.
He went to a nearby house to ask for help for his bleeding head and while there, his female accomplice stole a wallet left lying on the counter

From light to darkness
"Men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
From light to darkness
"Men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
I pondered on: how men become so blind that they would come to consider the base things in life to be acceptable, and would encourage others to do do likewise? Then, it occured to me that the Lord Jesus Christ clearly instructed us that it would always be that way because most people reject the light of truth, and embrace darkness instead. Since there is nothing new under the sun as King Solomon once said, this continues as it has from Creation until the present...
.
When one rejects the light, one rejects the truth. And when one rejects the truth, common sense becomes corrupted; What is degenerate, decadent, and obscene becomes normal. Suddenly, the senses are perverted to the point that righteousness is intolerable; Normalcy is considered outmoded; What begins to occur in the life of the decadent individual is what Sociologist call "respect for the unrespectful" : A perspective by which everything has equal value. Also, a debunking motif (a process of questioning social norms and mores) is constantly used to re-evaluate all accepted customs and practices.
Why should marriage be betwwen a man and a woman?
Why show I comb my hair? Why should I have hair, at all?
Who said that children should be told what to do?
Should a family consist of a man and a woman?
What's wrong with having premarital sex?
In essence all parameters are questioned; And the end result is a value-free existence. Up is down. Right is wrong, etc. In most Liberal Arts curriculum, Sociology is a prerequisite; Perhaps Sociologists not only set out to study Society, but also intended to shape it into what it has become today; Since one of the greatest sources of degeneracy are the Colleges and Universities: Anything goes City U.
This my friends is what has happened to America, the land that the Pilgrims founded; A land for those fleeing religious persecution and seeking for another country, one not found on the principles of this sinful world. Yet, Our nation (many of its citizens) now leads the whole world in rejection of truth and is on an unprecedented decline into the pits of utter darkness. Yes, this once great Protestant Constitutional Republic has descended to the dephts of confusing light for darkness; It now tolerates all types of deviancy, yet it ridicules those that chose to live righteously. The shinning city on the hill has become Sodom on the Potomac, Gomorrah on the Pacific.
In a few days they'll pretend to thank God Almighty for all His blessings. All the time eating, drinking, feasting without a true spirit of gratitude or repentance for their corrupt lackadaisical lifestyles. Then, come the Christmas and New Year's holy-days, more excuses to become inebriated and lavish their selfish appetites. More food, more booze, more money to buy gifts for people that already have garages (instead of a car) full of stuff. Among all this hedonistic bacchanalia: Where's God or His Son Jesus?
Changing - Light for Darkness. One dispels the other.
The further one gets from the truth, the better darkness looks...
Look around:
What's all the obssession with Lady Gaga and Beyonce? Rihanna's Umbrella? Prince William of UK (UNited KIngdom- what an oxymoron) and his live-in Fiancee Kate?, Don't ask don't tell?
Trivial decadence indeed. From light to darkness
Arsenio.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Limiting those choices, if we are to remain a free society, is not an option.
The reality of news today is that there are many, many sources of it available.
I, too, bemoan the loss of more newsmen covering foreign affairs. But the reality is that it forces people who care about it to dig out sources, usually on the Internet, that over time they come to trust. Others prefer to follow the meanderings of Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton, or fantasy football, or stay plugged in to their IPads, IPhones, or IPods, listening to who knows what. These are choices every individual has to make for him or herself. Limiting those choices, if we are to remain a free society, is not an option. At least it’s not an option for the government to choose. Parents, peer pressure, national leaders, sports heroes, all may have some influence. The bottom line is that we are living in the Wild West of news, talk, entertainment, sports and game info, and there is no turning back.
The answer is for people to become responsible consumers of news and other information relevant to their lives. But the idea of Sen. Jay Rockefeller having the FCC overstep its authority and go after the content of cable news networks because their existence makes it harder to pass certain legislation he would like to see is dangerous. Rockefeller, like the rest of us, wants to see quality news. But he goes way too far: “I hunger for quality news. I’m tired of the right and the left. There’s a little bug inside of me which wants the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, ‘Out. Off. End. Good-bye.’ It’d be a big favor to political discourse, our ability to do our work here in Congress and to the American people to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and more importantly in their future.”

Massive plagues of rats swarm across India every fifty years
Massive plagues of rats swarm across India every fifty years
A massive bamboo forest covers about 26,000 square kilometers in a region encompassing northeastern India and parts of Bangladesh and Myanmar. For forty-nine out of every fifty years, bamboo is a godsend for farmers, who can use the plant as building material, clothing, and even food. But in the fiftieth year, the bamboo inadvertently creates a rat army of almost mythical proportions that wreaks havoc on the entire ecosystem.
Bamboo is a very aggressive plant, and it tends to muscle out any other surrounding plants. This creates a huge bamboo carpet throughout the forest. Bamboo has a life expectancy of about fifty years, and when the plant nears the end of its life cycle, it releases all its seeds in one fell swoop. The problem is that the bamboo that makes up the carpet is all on roughly the same schedule, meaning all the bamboo plants release their seeds more or less simultaneously once every fifty years.
Greenwich University Steve Belmain explains this process, and why it sets the stage for disaster:
"It's a way for the bamboo to ensure that the seeds survive. But when the bamboo seed falls - you end up with 80 tonnes of seed per hectare on the ground. That's 80 tonnes of food just lying there waiting to be eaten."
Local rats start eating that 160,000 pounds of bamboo seeds, which causes their population to skyrocket. Though the bamboo can provide a lot of sustenance for all these new rats, eventually they have to spread out and look for additional food sources to survive. Farmers' rice crops are perfect for the rats, but just about anything they can possibly eat gets eating by the rampaging rodent horde, turning the entire forest ecosystem on its head.
The current bamboo flowering started in 2004 and is expected to last into next year. This is the first time scientists have actually been on the scene to study the outbreak of these plagues of rats, which had previously been dismissed as folklore and myth. Complicating the matter was that, because of rural India's relatively shorter life expectancy, there were few living witnesses to the last attack fifty years ago. But now researchers know the truth, and they're certain the bamboo is the cause of it.
There are also concerns that global warming could make these rat armies even more destructive. Destructive cyclones become more common as climate change worses, and ecologist Grant Singleton explains how the recent cyclone Nargis helped make this current batch of rat armies even worse:
"Because the cyclone was so intense and so much life was lost, there were a lot of areas abandoned that would normally be cropped. And these areas became overgrown with grasses and weeds that were a major breeding ground for the rodents. Also smallholder farmers recovered from the cyclone at different stages, leading to the crops being planted at markedly different times. Therefore the rice crops matured at different times and provided food on the table of the rat for much longer than usual."
The good news is that the rat armies aren't invincible, and relatively straightforward pest control techniques like simple fences lined with rat traps could make a huge difference in keeping them under control. But farmers don't deal with this problem regularly enough to develop effective strategies to solve it, and the researchers have found a great deal of apathy and defeatism among farmers who routinely lose crops to the plague of pests.
Still, Dr. Belmain remains optimistic:
"They're either engrained in apathy because they've tried and failed to control it or they don't appreciate how much they're losing to rats. So you really have to hold their hands and show them their lives can be better. People can do a lot more if they're organised."
