Sacto 9-1-1: Woodland father who ran over 1-year-old son is booked on DUI

A 27-year-old Woodland man was booked into the Yolo County jail on felony drunken driving charges after police said he ran over his 1-year-old son at the Masonic Lodge parking lot just before 1 a.m. today.



Arrested was Alejandro Ramirez Lopez.



Police said the toddler was hit by his father's vehicle at the lodge on Palm Avenue in Woodland.



Woodland police said the child received life-threatening injuries. He was first taken to Woodland Memorial Hospital, where police were notified at 12:53 a.m.



The child was taken later by helicopter to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

Woodland Police: Father Drives Over Son at Masonic Lodge

WOODLAND, Calif. -- A Woodland man was arrested early Sunday morning for driving under the influence after police said he ran over his 1-year-old child in a parking lot.



Police said Alejandro Ramirez Lopez, 27, accidentally drove over his son in the parking lot of the Masonic Lodge at 228 Palm Ave. in Woodland shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.



The boy was taken to Woodland Memorial Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries and later flown by helicopter to the UCD Medical Center in Sacramento, investigators said.



Lopez was arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence and other charges. Lopez was booked into the Yolo County Jail.
