An Afghan refugee says she's
wrongly been accused of being a terrorist. The people allegedly pointing
the finger are members of the Republican Party in Henry County.
Sahar Hekmati believes they want to embarrass her because she's outspoken. The mother wants to clear her name.
"It has harmed my reputation. It has totally damaged my whole life," said Hekmati.
Hekmati referred to the constant harassment she said she received for about three years. She said the name-calling and lies being spread about her became so bad she had no other choice but to file a lawsuit.
"It's like, wow, I didn't even know this could exist in this country," said Hekmati.
Hekmati wiped away tears as she listened to a recorded conversation she felt she was forced to tape.
"She's a felon. She can't even get a gun permit," the recording said. "I had to watch my back for a few days wondering if she was going to do a drive-by on me."

The voice on the recording also called Hekmati a terrorist.
"She's a terrorist. She is a terrorist. She is a terrorist. She follows all the rules."
Hekmati is suing for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
"She'd
like them to stop spreading these untrue things about her, stop trying
to harm her by calling her these horrible things," said Hekmati's
attorney, John Sparks.
Hekmati
and her family fled Afghanistan in the 80s. Hekmati has called Henry
County home for a decade. She's been active in Republican Party politics
since she arrived, but said now those politics have turned dirty.
"Being called
that is probably one of the worst things anyone could be called who's
not born of this country, especially because I honor and love this
country," said Hekmati.
CBS
Atlanta tried reaching the women named in the lawsuit by going to their
homes and calling them. One woman said she would need to talk to her
attorney.

For he has nothing to fear
For his time is drawing near

The Iron Lady, the Prime Minister
And now we have the Iron Man
Who fights all that is Sinister!
Yes, the Iron Man
Who does all he can
To bring Liberty
Back to our Land!
And now it’s time
For us to heed the call…
And Elect Dr. Paul!
Yes it will be a long haul
But mustn’t we stand for
Liberty and freedom for all?
Under pressure, under fire
He doesn’t give, he doesn’t bend
He knows things are dire
And he teaches us not to lend.

For he’s the one that will heal our land.
